BATS: Bloodsucker Anti-Terror Squad is fun. It has great humour, doesn’t take itself too seriously, and has some great homages to several franchises all whilst cracking a joke or two at their expense. Its gameplay is fine, and I think with a little bit of TLC to tighten the controls and fixing of the blood drops, it would turn BATS from a good game to a great one.

Aura of Worlds is a game you’ll put many hours into once you get past the beginning hump of mastering the controls and bulking up your character. This is a game you’ll find yourself going back to now and again.

If you’ve never played Sam & Max Save the World, this remaster is certainly worth investigating. It’s kind of clever, kind of funny, and appropriately priced. It doesn’t warrant a second playthrough, but few adventure games ever do.

Psikyo Shooting Stars Bravo certainly gave me more time spent with the arcade shooter genre. I can say with absolute certainty that I have a greater appreciation for the genre than when I went into this review. I recommend it to those who have a great appreciation for arcade shooters. I also recommend it for those who are curious or would like to have a solid collection to round out their Switch library.

For players looking for a game that offers something different, Bloodless delivers a good mix of challenge, aesthetic, and storytelling. It’s a nice little reminder that you don’t have to resort to violence to beat the bad guys.

The Forbidden Arts is a nice indie studio entry for the Switch and good for at least 12 hours of gameplay. I say “at least” because if you play like me you will probably get a couple of extra hours out of it (refer to the finicky jumping bits above). It doesn’t have all the polish of a big studio game, but it has heart.

TP Bullet is a simple-yet-fun platformer with a unique twist. It might lack many features but the puzzle-platformer mechanics are solid, providing a true brain teaser.

Silent Hope is a simple action RPG that provides plenty of fun even if it doesn’t pose a substantial challenge. Paying all playable characters equal attention will lead to redundancy, but shifting your focus to just a few will help the quick combat and hero customization to carry you through.

Forest Home is a pleasant puzzler with cute animals that will charm and challenge children until it gets too big for them. It takes a long while to get interesting for older gamers, but at least the woodland characters don’t get annoying along the way. The sheer volume of puzzles explains the asking price, but it’s unlikely players in any age group are going to finish them all. Maybe that’s the point; let the whole family take their turns on the same account and, after a while, all of the forest creatures will finally find their home.

Vagante is a moody RPG/platforming roguelike looks neat, if dark and gloomy, and plays well. It’s not groundbreaking, but there’s enough to keep genre fans busy with the copious amount of items to try out. It’s a little on the tough side, but that’s also the idea.

Unforeseen Incidents is a great-looking title that provides tremendous detail in the graphics and great voice acting. Some gameplay aspects could be improved but all things considered, it is a good point-and-click game.

Cats and Seek: Dino Park is a charming hidden objects game with cute cats meowing, fun hand-drawn images, and smooth controls.

UDO: Unidentified Drilling Object manages to have some success despite itself. While its numerous little issues accumulate into some unpolished real annoyances, it has that “one more time” element down, even with repetitiveness. I’m convinced there’s enough good here that a sequel should jettison the roguelike confines. Udo deserves to be a proper platforming adventure where it can drill a more unique identity.

Cryogear is a decent title with delightful graphics and exploration and manages to be enjoyable, despite basic combat and story elements.

Ghost Sync is another solid entry in KEMCO’s long line of retro JRPGs. Although the story isn’t terribly compelling, its female protagonist and unique battle elements are engaging throughout. Use Ghost Sync when you need a diversion from more demanding, intense gaming sessions.

Torn Tales: Rebound Edition is a classic hack and slash RPG with cute aesthetics inspired by some of the most popular folk and fairytales.

Kingdom Tales 2 is almost the exact same thing as its predecessor, making it a decent simulation strategy game regardless of whether you played the original. There’s no real incentive to play both, but fans of the genre will find enjoyment in at least one of them.

Offering more of what gamers saw in the last entry, Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery rounds out a worthy trio, even if it curiously shares numbering with its predecessor. A sizable bug, presently rendering the game impossible to 100%, can’t be ignored. But, with a slightly better optimization overall, plus an improved theme, this is still a good entry to grab when it’s discounted or patched.

Tank Mechanic Simulator has a lot to offer and could easily soak up hours of your time if you’ have the patience to get used to the menus. However, it is a must play for any tank enthusiast.

Fort Triumph is a good strategy game with more than one way to play with fun characters and unique maps.

Overall, Rogue Waters is a good roguelite, turn-based combat game withs some interesting mechanics and features. It looks good and sounds OK. Some elements are a bit predictable, but I suppose you get that with a bunch of pirates.

While there are issues, both in the game itself and the porting, Sonic Colors Ultimate is a fun enough time.

Milo’s Quest is a fun and cute game that plays like a simple RPG with a dog protagonist. There’s a lot to like for the budget price, though it does lack some variety and is over rather quickly.

Overall, Youngblood is a welcome reinvention of the series, but lacks the personality of what makes a Wolfenstein game. Microtransactions aren’t as bad they’re made out, but it is still understandably going to impact each person differently. The extensive replay incentive and a charming, albeit short, story are appreciated. If you are a Wolfenstein enthusiast, this game definitely deserves at least one playthrough— just make sure you won’t have any interruptions during your sessions.

While EQQO has a few shortcomings that are quite apparent, it’s multi-layered, touching story and easy-to-understand puzzle mechanics make this journey worth a look.

Filament is a clever puzzle game that will challenge even the most ardent fans of the genre. The relaxing atmosphere helps to ease the frustration, but the complexity of later levels may put off casual gamers.

The latest, though not greatest from Digital Eclipse (due to some lapses in storytelling), Llamasoft The Jeff Minter Story, still offers a good experience. For a certain demographic of gamers, it could be a nostalgic-filled romp. Those with an appreciation for gaming history will be entertained, even if the shortage of content makes this package feel more like a volume 1.

Space Invaders Forever is a solid but overpriced collection that presents three unique spins on the classic Space Invaders formula. It’s by no means complete, but whether you’re looking for a quick party game or some solitary nostalgia, there’s a variation or two here for you.
