Baldur's Gate 3 has reached the pinnacle of RPG games. With an engaging turn-based combat system, rewarding exploration, and some of the best narrative and character development, Baldur's Gate 3 is one of those games that we'll remember for many years to come.

God of War: Ragnarok is a natural evolution of the 2018 title, featuring an excellent story, an amazing technical side, new gameplay features, incredible battles and lots of varied content to explore. Easily a game of the year contender, Kratos and Atreus' new adventure is unforgettable and satisfyingly concludes this chapter of the Norse mythology.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PS5 is still the fantastic adventure that won over thousands of players in the last generation. It's basically one of the best games of all time improved in many points, such as loading, frame rate and graphics. The free upgrade just make things even better. However, don't expect anything new though - at its heart it's the same game we enjoyed in 2015 and its expansions later on.

Although it doesn't bring as many new features as one might expect from a remake, The Last of Us Part I is an absolute and sublime spectacle from start to finish. It retains all the best qualities that made it aN absolute success in its original release and it improves on the technical details that add value to this visceral and impactful journey.

Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is easily one of the best 2D action games ever and possibly the best 2D title in the series to date. The gameplay constantly challenges the player's precision and provides all the necessary mechanics for seamless fighting and jumping if skilled enough. The Game Kitchen not only respected the 2D Ninja Gaiden format - they elevated it to a new level.

Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed is a necessary and competent remake that respects the original, making what was already good even better. Its mature story speaks well to older players and opens up a new world for younger players by taking us on a journey through Disney's past. A game with a great replay factor, simple and intuitive gameplay, and a length that is just right, showing that the genre still has a lot to offer, bringing a touch of novelty amidst so many games that are more of the same.

Horizon Forbidden West is a masterpiece. The foundation that Horizon Zero Dawn has laid is improved in every way, whether it's gameplay or story. We have amazing graphics, charismatic characters, an intriguing plot and an addictive, varied and challenging gameplay.

In yet another great science fiction with deep humane themes, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector improves on what its excellent predecessor achieved and expands the campaign structure. This time, we travel to various locations in outer space in a ship, following Sleeper and his crew through an RPG with dynamic systems and vital choices. The cohesive sum of its parts makes this work a greater whole, one that is memorable and necessary for our times.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is amazing. FFVII Remake's excellent battle system is improved even further, the story leaves the player (whether a veteran or newcomer to the series) intrigued to know what will happen and there is an immense amount of content to be explored.

Hades II is a masterpiece in every sense. A game that not only improves upon everything that made the original special, but also expands the combat and adds even more content that rewards players' dedication. With virtually flawless execution, it not only establishes itself as one of the best titles in the genre, but becomes a must-have for every video game fan.

People can crucify companies that remaster games instead of creating new works, however, when something is as well done as The Last of Us Part II Remastered, there is no hater in the world who can find flaws to complain about. All the extras greatly increase the lifespan of the game and can deepen the player even further into the narrative in an extraordinary way. If you played the original version and have a PS5 at home, purchasing (or upgrading) is mandatory.

Inspired by the past but modern at every turn, Final Fantasy XVI is the overhaul the series needed with unparalleled quality. Driven by a fantastic story and charismatic characters, built on accessible, exciting gameplay and impressive graphics on the PS5, it consolidates itself as one of the best games in the franchise history.

The Talos Principle 2 is a masterpiece that ventures into ingenious puzzles and the philosophical universe of deep questions. Even though it is aimed at audiences looking for exciting, challenging and honest intellectual stimulation, this is a less intimidating experience than it may seem, thanks to the flexibility to progress through the campaign and the certainty that each puzzle already contains everything necessary to solve it. Few games have given me so much satisfaction with the beauty of seeing everything connect and make sense of the riddles, making me run to the next. This is one of the best games of 2023 and I'm humbly delighted to see its existence.

With an unprecedented story, unorthodox gameplay and originality to spare, GNOSIA is a masterpiece of the genre that deserves all recognition.

Split Fiction cements Hazelight as one of the best studios today and proves that creative freedom and fun are still essential concepts for the gaming industry. With unique gameplay that never stops introducing new ideas, an engaging narrative and exemplary technical execution, Split Fiction is not only the pinnacle of cooperative games, but also an unforgettable experience.

Honoring the legacy of what is considered by many to be one of the greatest games in history, Bloober Team delivers its best project to date by recreating, updating and expanding Silent Hill 2 in a majestic way without compromising its essence or art. The game has an impeccable sound design that makes use of the 3D audio, immersive DualSense effects, lots of details and a narrative experience that has always been exciting and psychologically heavy becomes even more intense, deep and terrifying.

Persona 5 Royal on PS5 manages to be better than the previous version just for its graphics, performance and additional content, but in the end, it's the same title from 2020. With that in mind, the game becomes a must-buy only for those who still did not have the opportunity to test the PS4 version. If this is not your case, don't invest your money here.

A mix of farm building and roguelite, Cult of the Lamb is impeccable in what it sets out to do. It’s wonderful the richness of detail and how it manages to combine totally dark elements with colorful and cute visuals in a story that keeps you excited even after hours of doing practically the same things – and loving every minute of it.

With stunning settings and an intriguing story centered on huddled teenagers searching for answers, Grounded mixes adventure, survival and foundation building. While facing a variety of enemies and challenges, players can explore the world solo or with up to three friends in multiplayer. However, the lack of clarity regarding the next steps in the story and the need for complex items can be challenging for some players, although fun is guaranteed, especially in multiplayer mode.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is the best game in the series so far. Based on its existing Arcade version and bringing together more than 40 games from the Final Fantasy franchise, the title is, without a doubt, the best way to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the franchise. A must for fans of rhythm games.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon is an incredible success that puts the franchise back on track. With excellent combat, a (nearly) flawless story, and only a few technical issues that don't detract from the experience, it's a must-have game for fans of one of the best JRPG franchises of all time.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a more than worthy re-release of one of the most influential and maybe the best Tactical RPG of all time. The improvements brought in this version make it much more accessible and considerably enhance the experience both for new players as well as long time fans and make it a mandatory title for everyone who enjoys the genre.

Return to Monkey Island is remarkably balanced in bringing the new and the classic together for a cohesive, nostalgic and relevant work that celebrates the legacy of the franchise while elevating it to a new level in today's entertainment industry.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a fantastic game. The graphics are beautiful, the soundtrack is amazing, the gameplay is very good and the story is immersive and impactful. There are a few minor technical problems - which are far from ruining the experience - and, because it is a linear and plot-focused game, there's not much to do once you've finished the campaign.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a masterclass in how to do a remaster, vastly improving every little aspect of the original game without changing its essence. If the original was already one of the best games on the PSP, this remaster can easily be considered one of the best JRPGs on PS4 and PS5, offering a story, gameplay, visuals and soundtrack worthy of the best games of the genre of all time.

Trying to remake a masterpiece is never easy, but with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, Falcom manages to not only deliver something on par with the original, but surpass it in several key areas. Every inch exudes the charm and care that made the series so beloved, delivering a finished product of excellence.

Blue Prince is among the most creative and intriguing games released recently. Although its randomness can lead to moments of frustration, it is precisely this unpredictability that fuels the player's curiosity to continue exploring the mansion's secrets. The sense of discovery present in even the smallest details and the achievement of solving its mysteries contribute to an engaging and surprisingly addictive gameplay.

With improved mechanics, a variety of challenges, unique narrative with great and funny references, and a strong emphasis on co-op, Moving Out 2 stands out as a title that takes the experience of the original to new heights. The game proves that moving out (or in) can be a good thing, especially when it comes to providing non-stop, chaotic fun. It certainly deserves a top spot in your game collection.
