While the heavily scripted and way too short campaign is a disappointment, the new Spec-Ops mode, especially when played in co-op, and the great multilayer make up for it. The polish shines through in every aspect, from the graphics and sound to the controls and multiplayer balancing. Prepare yourself for a game that is sure to take you on a thrilling ride.

PlayStation 3 players are in for a treat when they descend into Rapture for the first time. The story may be linear, but it's extremely engaging, and the 1950's design is sublime.

Street Fighter IV brings back a refreshing wind of kicks and punches to the genre. It has placed itself amongst the top five beat 'em ups ever, with gorgeous graphics and highly advanced gameplay. The only drawback is the lack of more offline content and an online tournament mode. But who cares when you once again can set up perfect Hadouken in your mates face, but this time in glorious HD.

Braid is a fantastic gaming experience that PS3 owners have missed out of for far too long. It's depth is only surpassed by the engaging puzzles.

If you're after a hard-hitting and adrenaline-fueled action experience God of War III is the ultimate game on the market, and Kratos' final battle with the gods takes the genre to new heights. 44 million dollars well spent.

Even though it took a year longer for Rock Band to reach Europe, this music game manages to make up for lost time in only a few minutes. With its hefty instruments and a strong setting, this game really manages to capture the rock image setting. There are a few nagging problems, such as having to unlock all songs manually and locking the roles for the band members, together with the fact that the sequel is just around the corner, but as a whole, Rock Band is one of the most impressive experiences around.

Whilst improving on practically everything that wasn't up to par in the original, this sequel is really only marred by it's delayed release schedule in Europe. A must for all music lovers out there.

The beautiful flow of the game on the pitch makes this arguably the greatest football game yet, and a few problems with the online component and manager mode can't stop this from being an essential purchase for all fans of digital soccer.

Assassin's Creed II is such an improvement compared to its predecessor that it feels like a completely new game, rather than just a sequel. The varied missions really shine and the narrative is very effective, in all it's Forrest Gump-esque glory. Despite the quite slow start, Ezios adventures in beautiful Florence and Venice both look and feel amazing, and are well worth experiencing to the very end.

Peggle's simplicity is only surpassed by its brilliance. Its many modes and levels are spellbinding, and it ought to be a mandatory purchase.

Killzone 2 is by far the best first person shooter on the PlayStation 3, with unprecedented graphics, impressive physics and a multiplayer experience that deserves to be played. Guerrilla Games have created an unforgettable action adventure with varied gameplay, intelligent AI and imposing enemies. You don't want to miss this game.

The pessimist in me never thought that it was possible to make a really good game from a popular license, but Rocksteady have managed to do just that with Batman: Arkham Asylum. The game is second to none in the genre, and beats all contenders with a mighy bat-punch!

Old fans of the series may not be expecting a game like this, but Fallout 3 is ambitious and more than lives up to the high standard it sets, and will be enjoyed by both newcomers and veteran Fallout players. Bethesda have managed to create a sturdy strategic element to the first person perspecitve but have ultimately failed in creating believable characters, which may disappoint some.

The Beatles: Rock Band is filled with charm, authenticity and the exact right feeling that's required for an excellent Beatles experience. The option to have 3 vocalists means that the multiplayer actually extends to 6 players at a party, and even though the songs in the late part of the game aren't as engaging this game won't disappoint any fans of their music.

With its mash-up of Event Horizon and the first two Alien movies, Dead Space creates a visceral and haunting experience that verges more on action than on horror. Despite its low replayability and linear story-telling, Dead Space is an excellent example of what an action game should be - a combination of high-adrenaline sequences and innovative design statements, in this case the brilliant user interface and the necromorph monsters.

This is the best part of the series so far. EA has found a winning formula for making ice hockey games. The new additions of board playing and fighting after the referees whistle makes it even more realistic.

Although the singleplayer campaign is entertaining enough, it is in the multiplayer that this game really shines. Almost perfectly balanced, the vehicles, destructible buildings and team-play make this game a joy to play and a must for any fans of the genre.

The gaming mechanics and the polish really impress, but the story never reaches as high as the first game. But despite that I'd like to visit Rapture time and time again. More sequels please.

Adorable graphics and very solid gameplay mechanics create the best puzzler on the Playstation 3. The learning curve creates an increasingly difficult game, and sometimes it feels as if too many gameplay variables are introduced, but for the bargain price this is a must-buy for any puzzle-fan.

Heavy Rain manages to create an atmosphere unlike any other, and many of its scenes are more thrilling and engaging than anything else I've ever played. Despite the slightly clunky controls and some parts of the story not meshing properly, Quantic Dream have created a game that breaks the norm. By being normal.

Dragon Age: Origins should appeal to all those RPG fans out there who believe that a good and compelling story weighs way heavier than the mindless beating of countless enemies. This game might entail the best RPG story there is on the PS3 - and is well worth every one of the 100+ hours you'll spend playing it.

Everything in Resistance 2 is bigger - all the way from the giant bosses to the 60 player online games. The arsenal is well-balanced and the gunfights are intense. Some more innovations would have been appreciated, but the shine and polish that Resistance 2 shows is more than enough for a recommendation.

Flower delivers a relaxing and vibrant gaming experience that borders on art. If I was a potted flower, then this is what I'd like to dream about.

Despite the name, this is more of a puzzle-game than a shooter, and the wonderful fluid-physics create a very enjoyable experience, although the game is fairly short and much to easy. For the price though it is still a good game and a nice addition to the PixelJunk-series.

Though Valkyria Chronicles is one of the first real strategy games for the PS3, it doesn't play it safe. With original watercoloured graphics and gameplay choices, such as the command point structure, this war is not one easily forgotten.

DJ Hero has managed to take the rhythm action genre yet another step forward with it's smart and simplified DJ controls and delightful remixes. This is the easiest way to feel like a real DJ right now without having to pursue such a career.

It's not very long, it's not very hard, but the new clever game mechanics and awesome retro inspired music soundtrack adds an incredible amount of fun to Shatter - The greatest Breakout-style game created so far!

Red Faction: Guerrilla is a gargantuan and generous RPG/shooter with driving tendencies and tons of diverse missions that can be performed in any pace. The multiplayer is good too, and has diverse weapons, some new backpacks plus more than just the regular game types, including a hotseat mode.
