More exciting than the real-life racing sets on which it is based, Rail Racing is a surprisingly stern test of your driving skills, but the focus on in-app purchases is unfortunate.

A quick and entertaining arcade blast, Magicka isn't perfect, but it'll make you smile all the same.

World End Syndrome is an absolutely gorgeous visual novel, let down by a few gameplay ideas that simply don't work.

Well-presented and infuriatingly hard, Slice it! will delight those looking for a seriously challenging puzzler.

A blend of arcade pace and tactical nuance makes Linkoidz an innovative match-three puzzler, which is notable in and of itself.

A smoother, less angry roguelike experience, Storm Casters ticks enough boxes that it's well worth a look.

Darker and grittier than its cheery predecessors, but sets up the right tone for the finale. It continues the tradition of sharp dialogue and puzzles, but also shoddy performance.

Another example of the solid annual improvement expected in its sport franchises, FIFA 08 is EA's best DS footie game to date.

Fun and low-investment, Fearless Wheels is a great dirt bike racer to keep around for idle moments.

A slow-paced but satisfying forest simulation that's good for kids, SimAnimals is a bit too simple for adult players. And while it doesn't quite fulfil its potential, but growing things is still a lot of fun.

Tales 5 might not have the strongest puzzles, but it manages to close the story with humour and drama. It means this entire series will go down in Monkey Island history, performance issues aside.

A simple RPG wrapped in a pretty complex free to play system, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is fun, but there's not that much to it.

It may be more of the same, but that's alright by us. CSR Classics is another quality round of car collecting, upgrading, and drag racing.

If you're after a faithful port of a classic golf game Neo Turf Masters won't let you down – just don't go in expecting it to dazzle or surprise.

Stick It to the Man! won't be for everyone, but it's a super solid port, has a great art style, and offers up a good mix of platform and point-and-click gaming.

Even Up isn't the most exciting puzzler on the App Store, and it arguably suffers for its lack of penalties and rewards, but it's a decent replacement for Sudoku all the same.

A Little to the Left is a charming puzzler that tasks you with organising chaos as best as you can. The lovely art style and background music add to the meditative vibes, but frustration will creep in every so often thanks to the odd illogical puzzle and the occasional clunky controls. Give it a go if you're keen on daily puzzles about organising chaos - or at the very least, if you'd like to experience chaos from a crafty cat.

Is it a good game? Yes. Is it a game that's going to slice the people who play it down the middle like, well, like a space beetle slicing through a bizarre interpretation of a hyperdrive trip infused with psychedelia? Yes. If you've read this review, I hope that you know which side of that line you're on. Because if you pick the game up and it turns out you're towards the screaming and never forgiving the game end of the spectrum, you've got a pretty bad three minutes waiting for you just down the line.
