In many respects, Sword and Soldiers is an excellent game. You can criticise its blatant lack of originality and repetitive nature, but that doesn't stop it being a great deal of fun, while its wacky world will seduce many.

Deathsmiles is a quality shooter for iPhone. With expertly mastered gameplay and oldskool - yet most endearing - graphics, this game emerges as a great surprise for fans of the genre.

Although not a bad game, Block Breaker 3 Unlimited's graphical bias and general messy nature cost it a few points. However, if the game's universe doesn't put you off then you will find a tile breaker that's fun, original and particularly comprehensive.

A surprising game on several aspects that suffers only from its choice of aesthetics, the high difficulty of some levels, and its relatively short length. Nevertheless, Feed me Oil remains an appealing and innovative title for fans of physical puzzlers.

An action game that features the game mode made famous in the 5th installment of the franchise. Nevertheless, and however much I wanted to like it, an average game completion time and meager content that cannot be deleted contribute to making this game not much fun. With that being said, it is visually stunning and provides a good preview of what can be graphically expected from the upcoming installment on the 3DS. Let's hope that it impresses us more.

Sonic is back on track, setting a new standard for kart-based games on iPhone and iPad. Even if its audio/visual package is a long way from the current leading examples on iPhone, the game is well polished and balanced, resulting in great single- and multiplayer fun.

Very limited content and clumsy controls make The Sims 3 a disappointing 3DS launch title. Nevertheless, there is a true Sims experience here, and one that is boosted by the clever use of the StreetPass function.

Ankama's first iPhone game, Dofus Battle, is a success: based on a tower defense concept, the game cleverly distances itself from the competition courtesy of a very solid narrative, honed gameplay and unique visual style.

Order and Chaos Online collects all the basics of heroic-fantasy MMORPG and brings them to iPhone. Technically and graphically very impressive, the game suffers from the need of a wifi connection to play and a lack of high level content like dungeons and real PVP. If Gameloft can quickly and regularly bring new content to the game, the iPhone will have its "World of Warcraft".

At times confusing and minimalist in its graphical interface, Football Manager Handheld 2011 is still a very deep game. But its price and low accessibility make FMH 2011 difficult to recommend to anyone but fans of the series.

Boasting a polished execution and a tried and tested gameplay, Air Penguin will definitely entertain you for a few hours. We can only criticize it for its perfectible handling and rather short length.

Dead or Alive : Dimensions is a strong fighting game on Nintendo 3DS. While not comparable with Capcom's Street Fighter in terms of graphics, 3D or gameplay, its huge content will undoubtedly delight fans of the franchise.

With its intuitive but very demanding gameplay, eBoo is a little App Store jewel. The polished graphics and strong humour throughout ensure a charming game which, with regular updates, could become a must-have on iPhone.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is the best thing that could have happened to the Nintendo 3DS and its lack of hit titles. Epic, fascinating and unique in its genre, this remake is probably one of the best 3DS games of the year.

Hills of Glory: WWII extends the castle defense concept of Babel Rising and introduces new game depth through various unlockable hero characters. But it's a shame that you'll have to play a long time or use in-app purchases to access them.

Backstab isn't a bad game, but it's not the hit that was excepted. Full of promise - and actually packing plenty of content and a lengthy storyline - the game is hindered by unpolished development that leaves the experience with notable bugs.

Tiny Tower takes the Sim Tower concept and brings it to iPhone in freemium form, delivering a pleasant play experience before a cent is even spent. With its attractive pixel-art design, its humour, and never short of something for the player to do, Tiny Tower is hard to quit.
