  1. Poorly acted, terribly written and plotted with audacious ridiculousness, "10.5: Apocalypse" is TV junk food that's neither tasty nor filling. It's just junk.
  2. Every reality show needs a mix of those you cheer for and those you jeer against, but "Texas Ranch House" has too many of the latter.
  3. An engrossing, humanizing portrait of the British monarch.
  4. "What About Brian" isn't a terrible show, it just doesn't offer enough unique reasons to make a weekly appointment with this gang of friends.

Midway through night two, however, the action begins to drag.
  5. Romijin... [is] too cold and aloof to play the lead.
  6. The biggest problem with "so noTORIous" is that the laughs, when they come, are few and far between.

The unique amalgam of a show that "Huff" has been -- a sort of sampler platter of hyperbolic though realistic, sympathetic but often self-sabotaging characters -- retains its balance and tone quite well this season.
  7. Although the series hypocritically and formulaically exploits stereotypes before proving some of them wrong, "Survival of the Richest" is rich in entertainment value in spite of itself.
  8. Problem is, the characters are neither likeable enough to cheer for nor despicable enough to loathe. They're just sort of unformed lumps of gray clay with a few stereotypical streaks of color.
  9. Seriously lacking in laughs.
  10. "Thief" offers strong moments aplenty, but what it lacks are strong connections, both between those moments and among some of its characters.
  11. It's an entertaining enough diversion if you're not expecting much.
  12. Showing the evidence really adds nothing as the story twists, turns and contorts itself in an attempt to keep viewers from tuning out before the hour is up.

  13. I'll give "Unan1mous" this: At least it's more efficient than some reality shows, wasting only a half-hour of a viewer's time. But that's still 30 minutes you don't have to spend wallowing in this muck.
  14. A crummy comedy.
  15. Tonight's premiere is often a huge time-waster, but when it's not boring viewers with the umpteenth meet-the-judges segment and sticks to introducing wacky inventors, it's kind of a hoot.
  16. A lively comedy.
  17. The writing in "Old Christine" is occasionally funny in a low-key way, but too often the show is a bore.
  18. Maintains the quality viewers have come to expect.
  19. By the third episode... "Big Love" becomes an addictive treat.
  20. "Black. White." makes you think, makes you want to have a conversation about racial issues and makes you examine your own beliefs and biases. How often does a TV show do that?
  21. A not-awful but not-great drama.
  22. Personally, I found "Arrested" funnier, but "Sons & Daughters" has its moments.
  23. When it comes to both character and story, there's really not much in "Conviction" viewers haven't seen before.
  24. More of an amusing diversion than a laugh riot.
  25. "Mrs. Harris" is interesting but not intimate. It's cold, aloof and distant, much like the relationship it depicts between the principal characters.
  26. This story of two computer I.T. guys and their computer illiterate boss is overly obvious and plays on stereotypes in an over-the-top way that may have been au courant in the '80s but feels woefully dated today.
  27. The acting talent here is marginal compared to the sitcom it replaces, "Out of Practice" (returning later in the season), but I found "Courting Alex" more enjoyable.
  28. A high-gloss series with production values just as significant as what we see on American TV, it's worth checking into Hotel Babylon if you're seeking a respite from reality--TV shows or otherwise.
  29. A thoroughly enjoyable series, the kind that makes you smile throughout and occasionally burst out laughing.
  30. It's the most thrilling premiere hour of "24" yet.
  31. It's an entertaining hour sure to appeal to fans of A&E's equally fast-paced British import "MI-5."
  32. "Crumbs" elicits laughs from time to time, but given the subject matter, I still think this particular story would have been better told as a comedic drama than as the occasionally dramatic comedy that it is.
  33. Filled with terrible dialogue.
  34. Lightweight and unaffecting.
  35. Perfectly adequate.
  36. It's disappointing that Kenny felt the need to make this series so far over the top, because at its core, there's a great family show worth watching.
  37. There's nothing revolutionary about this story of four friends.
  38. "Deal or No Deal" may be the dumbest TV game show ever, or, quite possibly, it is brilliant in its simplicity. But it's certainly not a quiz show.

A pretty family entertainment, lit by Ullman's energy and just small flashes of the Burnett we love.
  39. Somewhere within this bloated six-hour miniseries there's a lean, mean four-hour miniseries trying to escape.
  40. Smart, thrilling and politically timely, "Sleeper Cell" works overtime to mix believable character drama with jolts of surprising plot twists.

Because the movie tries to cover too much ground, it will be incoherent for those who don't already know the story, and disappointing for those who do. Worse, it is off-key in its presentation of both minor and major passages of his life.

Even if this strikes a cynical adult as too syrupy-sweet, it's refreshing to have a too-nice role model.
  41. Occasionally funny.
  42. It's uplifting, but not hugely entertaining. After a while, I sort of think the show will feel tired; once you've seen one good deed done, you've seen them all.
  43. Just as awful as "Locusts" was.
  44. It's more an intellectual, in your head, "hey, that's clever," than a laugh-out-loud funny.
  45. It appears Freddie Prinze Jr. studied at the Matt LeBlanc School of Acting given his mumbling performance and nice-guy-cum-neanderthal portrayal of Freddie Moreno.
  46. A disappointingly sex-obsessed sitcom.
  47. "Related" won't be for everyone, especially viewers lacking estrogen, but it is a quality weekly "chick flick" for TV.
  48. Better than average.
  49. If a show could get by on atmosphere alone, ABC's stylishy shot "Night Stalker" would be an outright success. It is creepy, spooky and scary.... But all this isn't enough to overcome what will likely prove to be an insurmountable problem: casting.
  50. The best new fall drama.
  51. "Sex" proves to be a series with loads of appeal for viewers still mourning the cancellation of "Melrose Place."
  52. Viewers who like to snicker at cheesy TV movies will get a kick out of Shepherd's imperious and demanding take on Stewart.
  53. It's all a bunch of mush, but I suspect it's mush that will find a receptive audience.
  54. To be fair, "Three Wishes" is touching. It is heartwarming to see nice things done for people in need. But it also feels like the show manipulates viewers.
  55. A sadistic series that, underneath its ghastly veneer, is just a dull, unoriginal crime drama.
  56. An often lighthearted medical show set in a Los Angeles fertility clinic, NBC's "Inconceivable" lacks the grit of "ER," the heart of "Scrubs" and the soapy shenanigans of "Grey's Anatomy," leaving an empty husk of a series.
  57. Should appeal to fans of Rock and to viewers who long for a family comedy reminiscent of "The Cosby Show" (albeit with a sharper edge).
  58. Solidly plotted and filmed.
  59. The laugh track is far too enthusiastic for the lame attempts at comedy on display here.
  60. The same old thing.
  61. Overcooked and preposterous to the point of being laughable.
  62. "Invasion" offers a few scares, but it's more a sense of dread and something subtly awry that gives this drama its creepy vibe.
  63. Though the characters are quite different, "Earl" somehow brings to mind NBC's "Ed," perhaps because both shows feature a cast of oddballs and are ultimately uplifting, heartwarming portraits of people trying to do good by making a fresh start.
  64. At first glance... it comes off as silly sci-fi, a not-so-intriguing series that wades into all-too-similar waters as two other fall shows. The difference in this one is that the water is noticeably more shallow.
  65. Cute but not overly cuddly, there's an authenticity to the relationships in "Mother" that makes it a comedy worth meeting.
  66. Backstage antics are what's supposed to make "Kitchen Confidential" hilarious, but instead the characters just come off as juvenile.
  67. "Just Legal" is just tedious.
  68. "Out of Practice" relies on trite misunderstandings and crude dialogue, both go-to gags for uninspired sitcom scribes.
  69. Despite the cliched sitcom trappings... it's an amusing, if slight, diversion.
  70. There's too much emphasis on fictional scientific theories and not enough character development to make the few scares in "Threshold" worth a two-hour commitment.
  71. The show is neither funny enough to be a comedy nor dramatic enough to be an engaging drama.
  72. It's an (occasionally) frothy mix -- comedic moments tumble into serious scenes of forensic examination -- that's not altogether terrible, but neither does it beg to be watched on a regular basis.
  73. It is a well-made little show of horrors that's likely to scare and thrill its target audience.
  74. Would be revolutionary -- if the year was 1980.
  75. The problem with "Reunion" is that beyond the show's gimmick, there's not much to draw viewers in. The characters lack depth and personality and the situations are -- yawn -- overly familiar.
  76. The premise, though bold, isn't as revolutionary as the "24" format, and the pilot is seriously lacking in thrills for an alleged thriller.

[The audience] will see some wonderful acting, especially from the luminous McDonald as Walter Lee's wife, Ruth. And they will see the movie debut of director Leon, who has helped turn these fine stage performances into convincing movie work, with the help of a screenplay by Paris Qualles that opens up the play into small additional scenes that will be a special pleasure for those who already know the play on stage.
