In classic Rare fashion, there are a few nods to Nintendo thrown in there but it’s nice to see that the developer hasn’t lost its touch to make remarkable games.

If you don’t particularly care for the series, R-Type Final is still a solid shooter. The only problem is the slowdown, and well, shooters seem to have that quite frequently.

NHL 07 is easily the best playing, best looking, and best sounding hockey game currently available. If EA had not stripped away the additional gameplay modes, this would have easily been the game to beat.

The action is fast and furious and the multiplayer mode expands the game’s longevity.

Although not quite as full-featured as its current-generation counterparts, NCAA Football 07 on the Xbox 360 is a solid game of college football. The atmosphere and enthusiasm that the game portrays is second to none.

The core gameplay is very refined and every aspect of the presentation is top-notch. If the game was a bit longer, there really wouldn't be anything to complain about.

A surprisingly natural, action-RPG that remains fun to play through during its length.

Disgaeas’s great gameplay is present in La Pucelle, although the game still won’t win any “Best Graphics” awards.

The PSP version of the game very accurately keeps up with the console versions of the game. While some sacrifices were made to make the game work on PSP, overall the developers did an admirable job.

There is a lot of gameplay to be enjoyed in the game thanks to the highly entertaining multiplayer mode, the presentation is superb (albeit somewhat less so if you’re playing on a SDTV), and the game makes good use of its source material.

An undeniably fun game. At the same time, it’s basically a port of a two-year game. Unless you played the game to death though, the stellar presentation and sound gameplay mechanics, make this game easy to recommend.

Day of Reckoning had the potential to be a superb game, but was held back by a lack of several things, such as a strong roster, voice-overs, and a strong Story mode, as well as its buggy AI.

Undoubtedly the best golf game on the market right now. If you picked up last year’s version, however, the refinements—unless you’re a diehard Tiger fan—may not be enough to warrant the purchase.

NBA 09: The Inside is a great portable basketball title.

It’s simply a technical marvel with top-notch gameplay.

It manages to do the expected FPS stuff well while adding some new mechanics that spice things up. Good use of the Doom 3 engine makes the presentation superb, as well.

Heavenly Sword is one of the best PS3 games to date.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 is the best Tiger Woods yet but really feels like an incremental upgrade over last year’s game.

If you were looking for a great game of chess, with hundreds of AI opponents and even more online, Chessmaster is definitely recommended.

It doesn’t deviate far from the typical formula. It doesn’t really need to. With tight controls, impressive graphics, a multitude of arenas and vehicles, and online play, this game is easily recommendable.

Sonic Advance 3 doesn't revolutionize the franchise but the new multi-character system allows it to keep it from being redundant and allows for an enjoyable experience.

The addition of some gameplay moves, the fast-paced gameplay and stellar presentation assure that fans of the series won't be disappointed.

Thanks to the improved presentation and tightened gameplay, the game shines above its last-generation counterparts.

The game’s graphics are comparable to previous entries but decidedly larger in scope. You can’t always tell but it’s hard not to be impressed by the scope when the camera pulls away and shows you the level you’re playing through.
