Amongst the minigames there’s plenty of traditional platforming gameplay. You can see that the developers have played plenty of "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker." This is not a complaint, on the contrary. The only real niggles are the lacking save points towards the end of the adventure and some of the bosses come up way too often. [July 2005, p.66]

Fahrenheit heralds the renaissance in adventure games. The puzzles are logical and use common sense. The cinematic feeling, excellent voice acting, gripping action sequences and excellent audiovisual elements complement the tightly woven plot. The story and scene’s change according to the players choices and actions, which has often been talked about, but rarely implemented as well as in Fahrenheit. The game proves that adventure games are not dead, they just needed to find a way to adjust. [Sept 2005, p.52]

Summit Strike does not boast many new features, but most of them address the feedback given by the series veterans. It's more polished and well rounded than the original, and because it's released at a reduced price, it's a good way to keep you entertained while waiting for the real sequel. [August 2005, p.77]

On of the best games in its genre. This is a versatile and well rounded package, which manages to avoid many of the pitfalls that other RTS games don’t. There’s still room for improvement though. Battles are at times a bit too scripted and formulaic and the enemy AI is quite one dimensional. [August 2005, p.73]

Whereas "Lumines" is like a concert played by superb musicians, who you listen to in deep concentration and standing in quiet admiration, Meteos is like a gig full of furious aggression and noise which want to make you boogie down. Meteos may not be as sophisticated and multifaceted as "Lumines," but it’s often much more fun. If these comments don’t make any sense, just go out, buy it and play it. You won’t be disappointed. Team-based combat has been attempted in many games before, but it’s never been as well pulled of as in Battlefield 2. If this game doesn’t create some great team-play action on public servers, then nothing will. [July 2005, p.70]

Despite the niggles and the fact that the game could be so much more expansive and technically improved on the new platforms, Carl Johnson and his homeboys epic odyssey is something everyone interested in games should check out. [July 2005, p.74]

Did you play with Scaletrix as a kid? And did you have wild fantasies about tracks with loops and jumps? Do you have the reflexes of a hyperactive weasel? If you answered ‘yes’ on all the afore-mentioned questions, Trackmania Sunrise is a game made just for you. [May 2005, p.84]

Guild Wars is a beautiful product on every level. It’s technically faultless, the plot is exciting and the many small improvements to the genre, which are too many to name here, help make this a game that comes highly recommended to all fans of online RPGs. And there’s not even a monthly fee to pay! [July 2005, p 73]

An excellent console action RPG, but Bioware has raised the bar so high with their previous games, that you just can't help to feel a bit disappointed with the end result. Or maybe that's just the relatively short length of the game. [May 2005, p 74]

Lego Star Wars is really fun, friendly and colourful little game. It's not too complicated, but still very entertaining. You have to be a hardened cynic or a Star Wars hater not to like this game. The Force is indeed with the blocks. [June 2005, p.59]

Sam Fisher, the western equivalent of Solid Snake, shines brightly in his third game as did his Japanese counterpart in his third game. As a whole, Chaos Theory is by far the best instalment in the Splinter Cell -series. The game does more than just recycle old ideas. [May 2005, p.60]

It's nice to see that amongst the Gran Turismos of the world there's still space for light-hearted and fun arcade racers. MX vs. ATV has nothing do with realism, instead it pits monster trucks, motorbikes and air planes racing against each other. This is a very finely honed and fun game, which will entertain you for a long time to come. [July 2005, p.61]

Even if God of War has a Pandora's box worth of small glitches, at it’s core it’s a supremely smoothly rolling action game. The game succeeds in everything it tries to achieve: there’s a constant onslaught of visually stunning action on the screen – and shameless amount of bare breasts and gratuitous violence too. If you consider Lumines to be just another puzzle game or a modern successor to "Tetris," you miss half of the games charm. You don’t see the forest from the trees, as the saying goes. It’s more than a innovative and addictive puzzle game. It lives though it’s incredible soundscape and visuals. It challenges your senses as well as your brain. Not a step, but a leap forward for the puzzle game genre. [Sept 2005, p 56]

PSP's WipEout Pure has one fault: bad AI, but that can be forgiven since the game pretty much excels in all other areas. WipEout Pure is, as the name suggests, a return to the roots of the series and this has been a excellent design choice. The gameâ??s fast and smooth featuring great visual design and also the best use of the PSPâ??s wireless functionality. Users can download loads of new tracks, craft and skins to expand the game experience. WipEout Pure is the perfect Zen practice. [Sept 2005, p.54]
