Dream Trigger features some really unique and original gameplay ideas - maybe a few too many for its own good - and ultimately tries to do too many things at once, overwhelming the player with its rather steep learning curve. Toss in the barrage of game crashes and you're left with a game that had a lot of potential that was never in the vicinity of being reached.

Its extremely simple gameplay and the repetitiveness of the linear Time Warp and Space Ace are to the game's detriment, and the lack of a robust library of extras hold this compendium back from what it could have been.

Thor is short and often repetitive, but it features a long list of attainable moves, combos and techniques to keep things fun and interesting.

The combination of two genres doesn't always equal success in the world of video games, but the unique mix of shooter and puzzler elements in 99Bullets at least creates an experience that makes it stand out from the crowd.

Overflow has the ideas, the charm, and the aspiration; what it lacks is the functionality to bring it all together in a meaningful way.

Picdun is an odd mix of genres, but it works surprisingly well.

The perfect gaming analogy of Jack Sparrow. At times brilliant and able to thrill, while on other occasions accident prone and unsteady on its feet.

Big Bass Arcade doesn't have much in the way of variety, although its one gameplay hook is surprisingly satisfying while it lasts.

At 500 Wii Points, Gabrielle's Ghostly Groove: Monster Mix is a safe bet for parents looking for an affordable, quality dance game to keep their kids entertained. It's easy to cheat and the soundtrack is lacking, but the game's nonsensical charms mostly outweigh its faults.

Nanda's Island is a tedious and frustrating physics puzzler featuring raindrops that act nothing like water and an interface that turns every horizontally flat surface or slight dip into a level-ruining trap.

TINcan Escape! has the solid foundation of an interesting innovation on the puzzle genre, but it's let down by too many easy stages, hard-to-predict AI, an uneven difficulty curve and not enough variation or creativity in the majority of levels. All in all, this robot's too rusty to provide anything more than a decent experience.

An enjoyable addition to the series and a fun experience. The level design and lack of difficulty make this particularly suitable for less experienced or casual gamers while potentially disenchanting seasoned players.

With the exception of new categories and a colour swap, Word Searcher 3 is literally the exact same thing as Word Searcher 2. If you are absolutely in love with word search puzzles, couldn't get enough of the other Word Searcher games available, and have an extra 500 Points, feel free to purchase this game knowing that its aim is to provide alternate, rather than better, content.

Its wide array of modes offer different depths and lengths of play, although overall there's a slight sense that it lacks a truly meaty challenge for expert fighters. Still, it's an excellent first showing for the Dead or Alive series on Nintendo formats, and sufficiently different from Capcom's fighter to warrant purchase.

In single and two-player Battle Mode, Lego Battles: Ninjago provides a simple, approachable RTS that can make for a fun, uncomplicated and challenging experience. However, the main adventure can be tedious and disappointing, level design is lacklustre and warrior classes lack enough variety to make for a rich and subtle strategic experience.

MDK2 is at its best when it goes nuts with large, crazy enemies and bullets galore through its strange environments, but not so much when it comes to puzzle-solving or platforming.

It might not be the true Mighty Flip Champs sequel some were hoping for, but it's every bit as addictive and a game absolutely no DSi owner should miss.

A strong DSiWare debut from Kiloo Games, boasting delightful visuals, challenging puzzles and heaps of charm. The downsides are few in number, but occasionally the controls aren't quite precise enough and the adventure is on the short side.

There are glimmers of what made the original board game so well received in this DSiWare adaptation, but poor controls, limited multiplayer, and grainy presentation undermine the experience in the realm of video games.

Word Searcher Deluxe isn't a bad game, but it's not a particularly practical one either, and as such it comes recommended only to word-search fanatics who are keen on doing their puzzles on the big screen.

While it is not a completely perfect port of the beloved WiiWare version, it's still a fantastic game with almost all of the charm that made the original so good. Despite its few flaws, being priced at only 200 Points makes this game a must-have.

The wealth of powerful animation tools and functions make it even more potent than Flipnote Studio, but with that added functionality comes a slightly higher learning curve if you want to get the most out of the package.

The Conduit got a free pass for being relatively ambitious for Wii shooters, but those days are over: Conduit 2 is a mess of undercooked ideas and impotent execution. It's not that it's a drastically worse game than its predecessor, but the design has been so far surpassed multiple times in the past two years that there is very little reason to return to this underwhelming well.

If you enjoyed the original release, you'll definitely want to check out this follow-up, but if you're just someone who's curious about the piano, you'd be far better off starting with the first volume.

It's easy to see what Escape Trick is trying to do, but the sloppy execution ultimately lets the overall package down. The poor controls and lack of direction in many parts of the game bring any type of enjoyable gaming experience to a halt far too often and you'll end up spending the majority of your playing time stuck on things that really shouldn't be nearly as difficult as they are.
