LEGO The Lord of the Rings on Nintendo 3DS is a low budget porting, lacking in content and flawed by a number of technical issues. It probably could have been much better than this, if not good as the home console counterpart.

Sure, it's not the most comfortable way to explore Vice City, but the low price and high quality of this mobile version are both very good reasons to get back in the shoes of Tommy Vercetti.

Into the Dead breathes some fresh air into the endless run genre, delivering an atmospheric, intense and nonetheless free experience for your iOS devices.

Nano Assault Neo is a competent twin analog shooter, both solid and fun, but it's also a little too much traditional gameplay-wise and you can beat it in a couple of hours. And that's not cool.

Guardians of Middle-Earth is a good surprise to be the first MOBA game for consoles. The new control system via gamepad works perfectly and the charisma of the Lord of the Rings setting do the rest. The only two maps are a frustrating limitation but although this tactical gameplay and balance are the real bonuses of Monolith production.

Still an outstanding game, however the new features introduced to take advantage of the GamePad are generally superficial and really add nothing to the experience.

Frantic and spectacular, Sine Mora for Vita slightly downsizes its graphics but in return it offers the perfect portable experience for any shoot 'em up fan out there.

Knights of Pen & Paper is a lovely tribute to D&D and RuneQuest, with a nice sense of humour and good pixel art. Its IAP system doesn't spoil the balance of the game, though it requires a little bit of grinding.

The Bowling Dead is a fun, somewhat original action game in which you can kill zombies by using a... bowling ball.

Chasing Aurora looks great, and the controls are amazing. Rarely flying has been so realistic in a videogame. Anyway, the game itself is a "simple" racing game (sort of), and the most interesting part is incrementing the score... without the possibility, at the moment, of sharing it online. Multiplayer mode is fine, but nothing special.

Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour is a solid FPS, with a blockbuster direction and stunning graphics. The touch controls work fine and are fully customizable, but they lack of an auto-fire option.

PlanetSide 2 is colorful, huge, balanced, fresh and free. You can become stronger paying but you'll never be strong enough to beat a whole army.

Chronovolt is buggy, slow-paced and jerky in terms of frame rate. There are many action puzzles better than this on mobile devices.

You can see that Shadowgun: Deadzone has potential, but it's also largely unfinished, with lots of lag, serious crashes and few contents. It's free to download though, so it's easy to recommend to try it and eventually keeping your fingers crossed for some huge upgrades.

Mass Effect 3 plays and looks nice on the new Nintendo console, but it's a must buy only for those who didn't get the chance to play it yet and only have a Wii U at their disposal: it's not the best version overall, and still it's pretty damn expensive, considering that one could get the whole trilogy on the other platforms at the same price.

LEGO The Lord of the Rings is, hands down, the best entry in the beloved TT Games' franchise. Filled with content and absolutely trustful to the movies, it's a true gift to fans of Tolkien and videogames alike.

Fifa 13 on Wii U is just Fifa 12 with less game modes, a poor online mode and some new GamePad features. It's a shame that most of them are pretty bland, if not useless at all.

Nintendo Land becomes a great game only when played with at lest 2 friends, and even in this case it never shows the scope or genius of the best Nintendo efforts. It's just a good party game.

AC3 on Wii U has the same content as the other versions with several minor enhancements for the GamePad controller. It's a shame that the frame rate is a little lower and all the bugs of the other versions are still there.

Apart from a few frame rate issues Black Ops 2 is a perfect port of the "old gen consoles", but above all it's a great way to show that GamePad fits perfectly with the FPS genre.

The New Super Mario Bros series finds its dimension in the home consoles, where it becomes an amazing multiplayer game. But it has nothing to share with the innovation, brilliance or quality of its ancestors, and its single player is poor compared not only to Super Mario World, but also to the recent Donkey Kong Country Returns.
