Given the quantity and quality of ideas in the first Super Mario Galaxy, the general feeling was that the sequel would have brought more or less the same things, maybe developing certain concepts and adding some new stages. We were instead surprised by the numerous new features, both in terms of gameplay and in terms of variety, with many completely new galaxies and powers.

Breath of the Wild is excellent in terms of controls, game design and interaction, and these three elements together create something really unique. This is an open world where you have to know and understand the morphology of the territory: following the radar isn't enough. This isn't just a masterpiece, it's also a videogame that exalts an underestimated virtue: grace.

Super Mario Odyssey takes something from every past 3D Mario, trying to improve it. When it succeeds, and it doesn't happen every time, Odyssey is, clear and simple, the best platform 3D ever made.

Breath of the Wild on Wii U runs at 720p, and has the same, small framerate issues of the Switch version. The loading times are surprinsingly good, considering the size of the game. Anyway, the only important thing to say is that Breath of the Wild on Wii U is as excellent as his Switch brother.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves takes all the best from the first chapter and improve it even further. Technically speaking the game is amazing from every point of view, the gameplay mechanic is varied, involving and spectacular. The multiplayer is surprisengly solid and funny, and push the longevity far beyond Drake's Fortune. A must buy, not only for PS3 owner.

A mind blowing game, that consecrates Larian Studios as one of the greats of the RPG genre, and will probably have the same impact today that its predecessors had in their age. It's a superb and brilliant game, that we wholly recommend to anyone who loves the genre, or deep video games in general.

Tears of the Kingdom starts from the foundation of the saga and aims for the sky: here, the tradition meets a freedom that's out of reach for modern video games, offering literally infinite ways to interact with a kingdom that is alive and full of content. It's a game which constantly answers any demand from the player and never stops providing new prompts. The return of dungeons, the world that rests hidden beneath the surface, and the floating archipelagos are great additions, but ultimately it's the gameplay - which doesn't know comparatives - to set a new standard.

The Last of Us is a step forward for Naughty Dog in terms of narration, story and gameplay, maybe the last big shot for PlayStation 3 and a fine example of a "cinematic game" melted into a great gameplay. A must buy for every serious gamer.

Portal 2 shows how a sequel has to be: longer, more varied and with a big plot. However there are several minor flaws: from the technical aspects to some lows of the single player campaign.

Astro Bot by Team Asobi is a hymn to video games and to the very act of playing: the PlayStation 5 robot is at the center of the first truly new generation platformer, a work created with obsessive care that pays homage to the entire story of the genre. Relying on impeccable level design and simply perfect technical execution, it unrolls a carpet of ideas, mechanics and wonderful moments that never cease to amaze and shock, from the first start up to the end credits. The consecration of Nicolas Doucet's team, which still has a slight margin for improvement, effectively leads to the birth of a new star on the PlayStation front, finally giving fans a title that is nothing short of unmissable.

By leveraging a wonderful creative process in close contact with their community, Supergiant has created an extraordinary title, capable of soaring above all others in its genre in terms of overall quality, structural brilliance, balance of its parts, and beauty. Hades II is an impeccable work, and we've been unable to find any real flaws in it, game after game. Perfection may not be of this world, but Supergiant has come very close.
