Vampire Rain is a rental only in my opinion unless you have more money than sense.

Everything from the dull campaigns, to the boring “open ended” environments, which really weren’t, No-name Bots I took no pleasure in killing, and timed missions that made me want to scream in frustration.

If you like adventuring, dark humor, acting evil and being in control then Overlord is well worth a look especially if you enjoy exercising the old grey matter. However if you are more action orientated gamer then Overlord might not be for you and so as I mentioned a rental is probably your best bet.

Ratatouille has its moments, it will definitely appeal to fans of the film in terms of location and the characters.

I think if you are looking for a game that stands out amongst the crowd, a game which really offers a compelling entertainment experience that feels fresh and to a degree unique; then The Darkness is certainly a game you should rush out and buy immediately.

Avoid this game unless you absolutely thrive on World War II FPS carnage, perhaps rent it just to laugh and giggle at how bad it really is, then realise you could have used that rental money for something else, enjoyable.

Harry Potter fans will no doubt love Hogwarts that has been lovingly and carefully recreated for us all to gawp at, however the tedium of the repetitive mini-quests and lack lustre battles are a let down.

With driving fans having to pick between Forza 2 and this it’s really just a matter of preference even though Forza 2 has more fans, arcade style racers will feel more at home with DiRT.

Rise of the Silver Surfer offers very little enjoyment, if there is any fun to be drained from this fantastically mediocre game then perhaps the hardcore fans of the Marvel comic books, series or movies may be able to harness their special powers to find some form of fun out of this not so fantastic game.

Sadly the game doesn’t really reward you for playing like a pro and if you are looking for advanced action based combat a la Ninja Gaiden then you might be a little disappointed.

Most importantly the game is FUN in a way that immerses you completely in its cheese ball single player adventure.

Surf’s Up could have been another crappy shovelware title based on yet another animated movie license. Instead it turned out to be one hell of a fun ride, albeit an extremely short one.

Forza 2 isn't a flawless game by any means but does remain unparallelled as there is simply no other game that can offer the same level of depth and unprecedented attention to detail.

Shadowrun is a magnificent multiplayer adventure that is sure to keep you entertained for as long as you wish to play.

The transition to console has worked well and will no doubt garner some new fans; so in this respect the game does well. However will limited appeal outside of Japan I think a lot of gamers will overlook this game and then miss out on something quite unique.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is a good action-adventure sword swinging romp, which is enjoyable to play and perhaps even more so if you like or have seen the films.

Shrek The Third is a decent all encompassing adventure action game which features puzzling , platform and fighting elements. It’s certainly an entertaining game but somewhat on the simple side.

Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is confident enough to stick out its chest on PC and indeed the console for its impressive control setups.

Although all of the game’s features are excellent qualities for a truly great game, the area where Spider-Man 3 succeeds most is in just being downright fun to play.

A fun yet very different Rayman game and in my opinion it’s hit and miss as to whether fans of previous games will enjoy this due to its departure from what is expected. A real Marmite game, you’ll either love or hate it.

For kids who have seen the film then this game is going to be a grand expansion for them to get some hands on with Wilbur and Co. For anyone else then there’s some decent adventuring to be had here despite the simplicity of the game’s premise.

The mini games are a welcome addition to the package and break up playing in matches over and over.

It is a very simple game with little depth in terms of story and characterisation and when it works can produce some genuine wow moments. However the poor controls for vehicles and the repetitive nature of the game coupled with some irritating moments of slowdown present a game that lacks a final polish.

The addition of the new card collecting system is fresh and inspirational; however it is also frustrating with a steep learning curve that really needs a better introduction to persuade the FIFA elite to get involved.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is not a terrible game but it’s obviously aimed more towards children which would explain its lack of difficulty, there isn’t even any difficulty setting to choose from should veteran gamers desire a challenge.

There is no doubt that Def Jam Icon is a fun game that is easy to play and full of neat ideas for a fighting game. However due to the lack of depth and variety to the game play means you are left with a basic brawler that simply looks very nice.

The campaign mode is full of tense moments, high action sequences and is presented using a very cinematic approach at all times. It’s fun, engaging and pushes all the right buttons. That said, there’s definitely an air of familiarity about the whole thing especially if you’ve played the first game and I felt some sections were a little, Graw painting by numbers.

Samurai Warriors 2 Empires takes the hack and slash formula and adds a touch of tactics to the game, perhaps to break up the somewhat repetitive nature of the combat. It certainly works and adds an entirely new level of depth if you are seeking such things.

An ambitious game which somewhat lacks ambition at the same time. For a third person action game it delivers the right ingredients and then offers an unquestionable level of freedom to do as one pleases.
