No matter how important the microtransactions controversy, NBA 2K19 is, once again, the best sports simulator of the season. With its unbeatable basketball mechanics and more content than ever, it's absolutely essential.

One of the best VR games we played this year. A tribute to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Charlie Kaufman's work. It uses everything in its hands to tell us a story (graphics, sound!!, art department, colours, real actors, dialogue, plenty of secrets in the level), and it does it wonderfully, without making us feel stupid. Oh, and its scary as hell (aka PT).

Unlike the previous games, it is based on direct action. Its system is simple and repetitive, but also fun. The cooperative mode is a big strong point.

V-Rally 4 does not manage to be the return that we expected from the franchise. Kylotonn shows what he’s capable with Rally, but the rest doesn’t reach the same quality.

Dragon Quest XI is one of the best JRPG in this generation and probably the best game in its franchise.

We hoped for a step forward, but what we found is a Harden's step back for EA's franchise. As with last year's game, it's not a bad basketball game, but not good enough considering the competition in NBA 2K. A lack of improvements is its primary weakness, being a too iterative offering.

Halfway between Counter Strike and Rainbow Six Siege we can found Firewall Zero Hour, a multiplayer FPS for VR that works really well and it's creating a surprising community behind. It's exciting, immersive... and so simple. Shallow and repetitive, but it has a great future set.

Probably one of the best iterations on the Spider-Man videogame franchise ever, Insomniac delivers a classic open world title with an strong single-player campaign for everyone to enjoy. While it lacks some unique personality as a game, it’s easy to forget its minor drawbacks while web surfing Manhattan.

Monster Hunter World is one of the best game of the year, and it's still solid, deep and challenging on PC. However, it has some important connection and stability problems.

Shenmue is back and that's always good news. The port is not as good as it should be, and there are many flaws that make the game seem unpolished, especially in Shenmue I. But, overall, it's the same masterpiece we all love and it should be played by everyone.

Another great point and click adventure game by Dave Gilbert, that sadly doesn´t match the high expectations we had on it. Despìte this, Gilbert delivers again a good solid story with many new and fresh possibilities that pusses the genre one step away. We hope that Unavowed will be the beginning for another great saga by genius Dave Gilbert.

Dead Cells is a complete success. The more you dive into what this castle-island has to offer, the higher the reward, while you battle thousands of monsters in unexpected ways. A true indie gem that any die-hard retro gamer will play forever.

It's been ten years, but de Blob is still a funny and colorful game. This remaster reminds us how amusing its gameplay can be. However, de Blob for Switch doesn't solve the camera problems of the original version. Besides, it was far more surprising ten years ago, when almost all the games were brown.

With some amazing visuals and a frantic gameplay, Rise to Glory claims to be the definitive edition of the Fallen Legion series. Too bad the repetitive mechanics and the lack of depth outside the combat portions of the game make it just fall short to be a great game; it's still a good one, though.
