Firaxis gathered its courage to rethink a license which, more than ever, was in need not of novelty but of a new, solid foundation. There's still a lot to build on, but if we find that 'just one more turn' feeling back, Civilization VII also manages to seduce us for 'just one more game', which is probably the scariest thing I've ever written.

Bethesda's ambition for Starfield is certainly obvious, but the means to achieve it are not all evenly distributed among its many aspects. There may be disappointment depending on what you expected, so read all the reviews carefully. But you can't blame Starfield for being Starfield, an already incredibly strong and rich new franchise. The flaws don't take anything away from the fun the game provides, and if you want a SF adventure...nope, multiple epic sci-fi adventures, take off for the stars right away.

2D Mario at its best, a pleasant and almost perfectly designed platform experience, full of ideas and tricks. All that's missing is a little difficulty to reach greater heights.

Simpler and more arcade-like, and therefore more accessible, NBA 2K23 is also a nostalgic love letter to NBA history. My Career mode remains so good that if it weren't plagued by micro transactions or trips to "The City", it would simply be perfect.

You can’t really knock a game for being iterative when it both builds on and refines the brilliance of the original. Ghost of Yōtei makes returning to Sucker Punch’s Japan a thrill, delivering a memorable ride. Atsu’s journey may start from a familiar revenge tale, but it constantly finds ways to surprise. Brutal, visceral, and impossible to ignore, it’s one of the PlayStation 5’s standout experiences. A must-play for fans, though some may feel a little déjà vu creeping in.

Diablo is back, enough said. The formula modernizes itself and succumbs to the allure of forced multiplayer live service, but the core remains intact. The game offers a campaign as sinister as it is captivating, built on extremely solid foundations that welcome new players, while providing veterans with plenty to sink their teeth into for months and years to come.
