As a fighter and a gamer, I’m deeply insulted by Fighter Within.

Though it seeks to mimic survival horror classics like Silent Hill and Resident Evil 2, BlackSoul fails to capture any of what made those titles great while highlighting their worst aspects.

It's not that the Zombii Attack tries something new and aggressive but fails to pull it off, but that it hardly seems to try to be much of a game at all.

Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers could have been the crossover that fans have been waiting for. However, with the game including nothing that makes any of the series represented great, it ends up as another title in the pile of countless generic licensed games.

While Vroom in the Night Sky isn’t a spectacular game, there’s no denying that I had some fun with it for the short-lived time I spent with the title. I just wish it could be more over-the-top with its presentation rather than dull and unoriginal for most of the ride.

With no story and just straight dueling against Joey or a friend, the game can become boring and tedious. This is an excellent game for people that play the Collectible card game though.

The game was created well, but is in desperate need of more content as the game feels as shallow as most of the themes the game is based on.

Crash MOM isn’t actualy a bad game, but the insane loading times cause it to be far more frustrating than it should be.

This would have been a perfect Wiiware offering or budget title, but as a full-price retail product, it simply doesn’t offer quite enough value.

The problem with Alganon is that for one, it's simply so 'ho-hum' and simply boring that it couldn't sustain my interest for very long at all. Second, the largest issue isn't that Alganon is broken so much as that it simply is unfinished.

As it stands, however, I found Fortix a mediocre experience that just didn’t grab me as much as I thought it might.

It was a great game on the PSP, but when playing it on the PS2 from your couch, with surround sound and a TV bigger than a post card, the game is simply average.

Still, fans of retro-adventure titles and those just bored of the "same old same old" in the hidden object field may find themselves captivated by A Gypsy's Tale's storybook charm.

If you're a fan of fantasy novels, RPGs, Choose Your Own Adventure, Harry Potter, life simulators or all of the above, Academagia will probably feed your need while not draining your bank account (at least, not until you're hooked and the next four games come out).

Your kids might have some fun with this, or maybe with someone else who enjoyed the game show. After a few games the experience gets rather dry.

For $30, it's not a bad deal to try it out and see how you and your friends can do when in the mood for some trivia. Just don't expect the same level of expectation of being on the show.

If you've played LoTRO before, and all you want is more quests, and new zones to experience then by all means Rise of Isengard is well worth your purchase. But, if you have already burnt out on LoTRO then you won't find anything new here to change your mind.

Third-world politics have fundamentally changed in the 21st century, yet the world of Tropico has been left behind.

All in all, Haunted Houdini is a great entrant into this particular style of game. If you enjoy visual puzzles and an adventure based around occult mystery, then really, head on over to the Steam marketplace and give it a look.

Oddly enough considering the game's concept, Pickers has turned out to be a bargain itself. While the gameplay has a very tight focus – sifting through items to buy and sell may wear on some gamers – if the prospect of hunting for treasure in a marketplace instead of a dungeon appeals to you, this is definitely one game to check out.

If you enjoy the challenge of creative description, WordTag Free is worth checking out – I can't think of any other title in the App store that has quite this approach to a vocabulary based game, and it seems to have a lot of potential.

Capsized+ makes a bold attempt to cash in on its love from the console market, and if you really enjoyed it on the big screen then you’ll most likely find it enjoyable on the small screen.

Storm is a game with a great concept, but a few problems in execution prevent it from realizing its true potential. It’s still worth a try for those with a fondness for unique puzzle games, but gamers who were hoping for the next Flower may be a little disappointed.

If you don’t have these games yet, this is a perfectly sensible way to get them, but, really, you should make sure you have online access to enjoy them to the fullest.

The problem is, it’s not original.

If the technical issues can be ironed out, the Vita version of The Walking Dead could indeed be awarded as the definitive one. But even in its current state, this version of the lauded title can stand proudly beside the rest.

In summary, if you’re looking for a game that will make you laugh, cry, dance, and then snap your keyboard in two, Electronic Super Joy might fit the bill.

If you’re on the hunt for a new puzzle game to challenge you, this one’s at the very least worth a look.

It fills a niche that I’m sure will have a following, but it is not for everyone, least of all casual strategy gamers such as myself.

Even the biggest fans of horror can skip this entry in the long list of Slender Man related media–that is unless they’re also big fans of aimless wandering.

The added improvements in graphics and audio will certainly outweigh any minor annoyances the Xbox One version brings.

Front Office Football 7 isn’t perfect, but when it succeeds it succeeds magnificently.

If you are a fan of pinball or Star Wars or both—buy this DLC. It’s clear that the people at Zen Studios are experts at both, and $10 is a low price to pay for a few entertaining hours of bumper-slapping.

Consisting of two very well designed maps and one recycled and repurposed yet still very enjoyable map, Expedition will certainly bring the faithful back to the table for more. Unfortunately, Titanfall still feels a little thin, mostly because a lack of maps was never really its problem.

The Sacred Tears True hits the mark for fans of the genre. However, unexplained game systems and anime tropes will keep those curious from appreciating it as much as the diehard doujin fans.

Front Page Sports Football belongs in the obituaries on page 2. This game is a hard to navigate, depthless nightmare that will leave you questioning your actual worth in the scope of human reality.

Nidhogg on PS4 is just as great as it was on PC. I’m still hoping for more content, though.

If you’re a fan of the show, then you owe it to yourself to give these tables a shot — you won’t be disappointed.

From diplomacy to war, there are far better games to occupy your time in this genre even if some are getting on in age.

A very high quality free-to-play game, but free-to-play all the same.

While you get glimpses of the intentional stupidity this kind of game needs in order to succeed, you do not see it often enough for it to work.

The Anniversary DLC for Crazy Machines 2 adds a lot of content for the CM2 faithful, and bolsters an already great offering of inventive engineering fun. It isn’t for all gamers, but if you dream of Rube Goldberg machines, you can’t pass on this plethora of great content.

The Fruit of Grisaia is a great visual novel. Although it’s somewhat marred by pacing issues, the high moments of story are more than enough to make you forget all about them.

VULKAISER is a nice distraction, but lacks any major step forward. Fun for a spell, but has the longevity of a coin-op arcade machine.

Despite the split-second bliss derived from picking up an alien resource upgrade, Battle for the Sun possesses no redeemable qualities that make it worth a purchase, even at it’s paltry ten-dollar price tag.

With “Trespasser,” Dragon Age: Inquisition feels complete.

It is strange but enjoyable, and perhaps the vision was too ambitious for the final product.

Rack N Ruin redeems itself with a second showing on PC, but only if you abandon your controller for the ol’ fashioned keyboard and mouse.

Doodle God is a port of a mobile game, and carries with it the same simplicity, microtransactions, and limited but continuous fun that many games of the platform boast to the PC.

Lovely Weather We’re Having has a solid foundation of eye-catching artwork and an ever-changing landscape based on your local weather. However, there are a few negatives that can’t be overlooked, such as the rough audio, the lack of dialogue, and the small size of the world.

There’s a charming game in Goggles that is unfortunately hidden behind a half-baked software release. While the art style is colorful and unique, the gameplay is flat and an important portion of the experience, multiplayer, has no participants. While I love the level design, it’s not to recommend the game on.

Draft Day Sports: Pro Football 2016 isn’t a beautiful game, but like a desk calculator sitting idly on a business desk in 1978, it just works. The game gives players an ability to run simulations of teams with high levels of accuracy. American football is an undeserved sport in the simulation gaming genre, and Draft Day Sports: Pro Football 2016 has a shot to become a “division leader” in the sports sim world.

Arslan: Warriors of Legend does a great deal more right than it does wrong, but you would likely already need to be fan of the Koei Warriors games to think so.

Hero and Daughter+ boasts tons of dungeons to explore, powerful girls to summon, and enemies to defeat. Unfortunately, this seems to be a case of quantity over quality, as most of the characters have flimsy backstories and there are very few surprises. Instead of being treated to a richly detailed story about the world and its inhabitants, making progress largely feels like a joyless numbers game.

Draft Day Sports: Pro Basketball 16 provides a competent but incomplete basketball simulation experience. Featuring a few bugs, glitches, and crashes, the game does manage to overcome those flaws with an excellent and accurate simulation system and simple customization options.

UnderDread is a Slender Man game disguised as an 18th century horror game, but there are no Slender Man appearances and it isn’t scary. If you dig far enough down, it has a redeeming quality or two, but at the end of the day it’s an unpolished game with a weak story that doesn’t do much more than waste your time.

Oil Enterprise is a game that is lacking in almost all departments, and never comes to compelling gameplay. If you like watching numbers more than actually building an empire, you may enjoy this game, for everyone else it just never seems to hit the mark.

Cyber City 2157: The Visual Novel is a strange and vibrant game about an ever-changing futuristic city. The branches of the story give you a lot to chew on, but most threads are never tied up. Give it a try if you enjoy open-ended stories that leave you pondering.

Kingdom Wars 2 is a solid real-time-strategy game that hits the bar squarely in the middle.

The Sims 4 Dine Out is a great game pack that doesn’t offer a lot outside of running restaurants, but it does that extremely well and can be a great deal of fun. Don’t expect much outside of that, but the way it incorporates content from the original game and other expansions, it truly adds dimensions to business ownership, and a great new element to the game overall.

The definitive edition of Dead Island Riptide is hardly an improvement. The gorgeous visuals may distract you from the tedious gameplay and odd bugs for a while, but it doesn’t last forever.

The Dark Brotherhood is now arrived, and the clean and “safe” Tamriel we all knew in Elder Scrolls Online is changed for the better. With the addition of the guild proper, assassinations, and the familiar Gold Coast, Dark Brotherhood is the most exciting update yet for ESO, and a great sign of things forthcoming.

The Sims 4 Spa Day has some of the best and most fulfilling content that has been released thus far. The number and quality of items and things to do make this the best bang for your buck so far, and any Simhead should enjoy this great game pack.

What it lacked in story, it made up for in visual appeal. The romantic choices were different enough that it felt like a unique story for each choice, but the interaction between lovers seemed a little artificial at times. The art is pretty enough to make me want to continue on just so I can see the gallery pictures.

The gameplay is a bit stale at this point, and this second mission pack is less adventurous than the first, but the cut scenes and soundtrack are still phenomenal and almost alone worth the price of entry.

Sally’s Law is held back by a lack of challenging puzzle gameplay and replay value. However, if you can get past its flaws, you’ll find an undeniably cute and positive story that will warm your heart.

While woefully short and unchanged from its PC incarnation, Noitu Love: Devolution is a great little action title with satisfying bosses and slick controls.

If roguelikes are your cup of tea, you probably won’t find much gripe with Lost Castle. Seeing all the characters you could possibly be is enjoyable, and working through your skill tree feels rewarding, but the grind and repetition of much of the gameplay make you question whether it’s worth the hours.

Safety First wants to be a strange puzzle game (emphasis on strange), and while it has an inkling of innovation here and there, the game is tarnished by poor graphics, tame humor, and terribly broken controls.

A straight port from 2005, Destroy All Humans! is not pretty to look at, but the writing has held up well over the last decade. That said, nostalgia can’t fix the repetitive gameplay of Destroy All Humans!, and technical glitches mar the fun on tap. If you want a trip down memory lane, you might catch this on a sale, but it’s hardly a must-have in its current technical state and price point.

1775 Rebellion successfully takes the fun of the original board game title and ports it on to iPad and Android. The game isn’t the prettiest one you’ll play, but a competitive AI and incredible balance will keep this in your regular rotation.

Draft Day Sports: Pro Basketball 2017 is a generic simulator that is just not quite ready for the big leagues. There are plenty of great features, and a deep collection of players that show the potential expected. A series of fatal flaws and poor design throughout will frustrate you and make you want to send it back down for more development.

While it’s a decently fun time for 5 bucks and easy to pick up and play, Mini Golf Resort is an unremarkable 3DS port of a game with generic design choices and some strange physics.

Montaro is an endless runner that does what it needs to. Its silly charm and low price of one dollar makes up for its sometimes unfair mechanics and limited content.

My biggest gripe is there is not more, and I wish this was a full-fledged expansion because I enjoyed it so much. The new abilities tree is a fantastic addition to the SIms and I loved playing as a vampire, making this my favorite game pack The Sims 4 has put out to date.

Toy Odyssey is marred with some old-school platforming woes that should not be featured in a 2017 release, but this Metroid-style nighttime toy adventure also provides lots of fun and plays fine enough to be worth the frustration. Lots of difficult platforming challenges and fighting await you in this dark and spooky title, if you can get past the random generation issues and unfair pitfalls.

A charming story within a world not too complex, but not too bland, Runt of the Litter takes very little time in getting one interested in the little runt that is your very own gryphon. In addition to a well written story, it is interesting enough to make me want to go back and try a different path to see all the outcomes. I would love to see a sequel of some sort out of this.

Homebound is a virtual reality experience best saved for the daredevils and veterans of VR. Its controls are clunky, it has a habit of leaving you spinning in the most gut-wrenching of ways with little to no warning, and its story mode instructions can be frustratingly obtuse. That said, it gives you the opportunity to experience life on a space station, and gazing out the viewport can be a shockingly powerful experience. It’s difficult to resolve these dichotomies, but at the end of the day, I felt that the experience it offered was more than worth its $8.99 price tag.

Miko Mole is a disaster. Someone would have to pay me to play it again. Antiquated graphics, annoying sound effects, forgettable soundtrack, poor level design, iffy controls, and a complete lack of story make this not a last hurrah for the Wii U but rather a dying gasp.

Majotori has some very good ideas with how to handle a unique trivia game, but unfortunately botches them in execution. While it’s good for a playthrough or two, in the end you’ll feel a bit disappointed at the whole affair.

Interkosmos is a short virtual reality experience which places you in the hot seat of a space capsule returning to Earth during the Cold War. Combining an incredibly high pressure situation with a great deal of humor, Ovid Works has crafted a truly unique, narrative-driven experience. While the game is only around 30 minutes long, it has branching storylines, two successful endings, and makes death incredibly fun with a whole host of ways for you to perish. It’s highly interactive, it makes incredibly satisfying clicky noises when pressing buttons and flipping switches, and it’s over the top, colorful, retro graphics make it a unique and fun experience. Climb into the Interkosmos cockpit, make history, and show the world that Major Tom has nothing on you.

Symphony of the Machine is the epitome of what a virtual reality experience should be. It nails everything from visuals to sound, from challenges to object interaction, all without a hint of motion sickness. This peaceful puzzler will calm your mind, challenge your brain, nurture your green thumb and leave you wanting much, much more. It’s rather light on content, offering one to two hours of gameplay, but scores perfect marks in literally every other regard. While the short gameplay may be disappointing for those looking to squeeze every minute of entertainment out of their dollar, Symphony of the Machine is a must have for those dedicated apostles who seek to spread the gospel of VR.

The unexpected combination of the racing and wave defense genre, Radiant Crusade is a colorful, high speed VR shooter. While not suitable for anyone susceptible to motion sickness, be it from VR or riding in cars, this title is enjoyable enough in short bursts. A lack of both minimap and contrast between the game’s glowing fauna and enemies makes it challenging to master, despite its easy and intuitive controls.

Viking Rage takes the simple concept of tower defense and brings it to VR. Enemy variety, traps and secrets, and a few boss fights make it more than the sum of its parts. Minigames are icing on that cake. There are some technical hurdles, but at its core Viking Rage is a fun take on an established genre.

VRobot is a unique virtual reality experience which allows you to engage in wanton destruction while still playing the role of the good guy. Low resolution, brightly colored worlds allow you to wreak havoc with your bare robot hands, or with the aid of tractor beams and tornado guns. Its eight levels leave it a little short on gameplay, and a lack of overall plot and extras means it’s not that addicting, but it is incredibly entertaining in short bursts, and developer Luden.io promises much more to come, including robot battles. A highly entertaining and destructive romp, VRobot is a great way to waste a few hours.

Medusa’s Labyrinth has made an art out of building tension, using a brilliant combination of setting, sounds and truly grotesque monsters to create several heart-pounding, white-knuckle, hold-your-breath and drop-your-torch moments. While this game perfectly sets the stage, this setting is tragically undermined by unclear controls which have not been well adapted to VR, nausea-inducing simulated motion, and the tedious chore of physically wandering blindly through an unmarked labyrinth.

Beholder: Blissful Sleep is an interesting prequel wrapped up in the package of DLC. Other than having more dialogue and changing one mechanic, it’s essentially the same gameplay as the original. That doesn’t bother me in the slightest, though, because I love the narrative style with its subtle humor and overarching feelings of hopelessness under an oppressive government.

With a few new zones and bounties, there’s more to tackle beyond the new class and Challenge Rift. With luck, and the upcoming Season 11, there’s plenty of reasons to come back to Diablo III. The Necromancer is a bit of a work in progress currently, but it’s a fantastic addition that fits nicely into the pantheon of fighters and casters.

Gunball is developer REDSpace’s freshman VR effort, and it’s not too shabby. REDSpace has worked on kid-focused titles like website for The Powerpuff Girls, The Nick App for Nickelodeon, and The Cartoon Network’s micro-game “Anything” app, so this is a step in a new direction for them. While Gunball is simple in execution, it’s elegant in its simplicity, and fun for the whole family at a fairly reasonable price.

Jackbox Party Pack 1 & 2 each contain their own unique set of games for hours of hilarity with your friends, and having this available on the go with the Switch makes it all the sweeter. Each pack contains a wide variety of games such as the first containing You Don’t Know Jack and Drawful and the second containing Fibbage 2 and Quiplash XL. Solo players beware, this game is primarily for parties.

I really can't offer a clear, concise explanation as to why this ridiculous game is so much fun, all I can say is that sorting cats has become the new competitive hobby in my office. Cat Sorter VR has somehow combined the adorable, the absurd, the repetitive, and the high pressure of a continually moving assembly line to create an inexplicably addictive virtual reality game which you really have to experience yourself to understand. It may not be a purrfect game, but it's more than worth the $12.99 price tag.

The Horns of the Reach DLC for Elder Scrolls Online is small, but it gives some decent gameplay and a new set of items, objectives, and a few other scarce elements that will help players at any stage of gameplay. Many players will get this full release automatically as part of their ongoing subscription to the game, but casual players of the game may want to wait and see before jumping in.

Raiders of the Broken Planet delivers a strong shooter experience. The combat of the game keeps you engaged, as you need to be ready to be flanked at any time. The campaign is short but sweet, and leaves you wanting more. The missions are challenging without being too tough, even playing solo. Looking forward to more campaigns being released.

Terroir is an incredibly challenging game which incorporates the strategy, farm simulation, and tycoon genres. The lovely low-poly graphics and the atmospheric soundtrack make it easy to get lost in this world, especially as there's often not much to do other than wait for the weather to change. Much of the challenge comes from the randomness of the weather, so if you don't mind failing a time or twenty, you will find a great challenge in Terroir, and might even come to a greater appreciation of a good bottle of wine.

Mononoke Forest provides a surprisingly good time for a very small price tag. Bubble Bobble meets Animal Crossing, this delightfully quirky game is easy to pick up and shockingly hard to put down. While the story isn't anything revolutionary, it's entertaining, and the monster designs, particularly for the Hazard Mononoke, are stellar.

Like its cousin, RPG Maker, Visual Novel Maker is a simplified, cohesive program which allows anyone to create their own video game. While simplified doesn't mean easy, VN Maker provides a powerful, flexible suite of expandable tools. It is limited by its graphical resources, and offers a small selection of backgrounds and character designs. Those hoping to profit off their games will want to invest in the DLC, as it offers a commercial license in addition to additional features.

Though riddled with localization oddities and misspellings, Fishing Master is a $20 relaxing day at the lake. If you focus on just pulling photorealistic fish into your boat and ignore the grind-heavy nature of the RPG-lite upgrade mechanics, there’s a shiny lure here. I’m not sure what to do with this other hand...

The Clockwork City DLC is an overall improvement on Elder Scrolls Online and has a lot to offer in terms of exploration and adventuring in-game. There are some instances where events go by too quickly, but many players will find great benefit in that while others will balk at it. The map also is littered with confusing paths and dead ends. Overall, the new DLC has a great unique look and is packed with enough new content to be essential for any dedicated Elder Scrolls Online player.
