Tropico 6 is fantastically addictive, and worth checking out regardless of whether you’re into the minute details of urban planning, or if you’re more a big picture kind of person. Whichever it is, you’ll find plenty to love here.- Gaming Age

I’ve really had a blast with Valfaris. It looks and performs really well on Switch, and I’d imagine that’ll be the case for the other platforms it’s available on too. The metal soundtrack is fantastic, and the overall visual design is unlike anything I’ve played this year. With the recent announcement that Doom Eternal is delayed into next year, I think Valfaris will easily be the most metal game you’ll play this year. It’s absolutely worth checking out when it launches on Switch and PC on October 10th.- Gaming Age

Code Vein is the perfect starting point for that friend that always wanted to try Dark Souls but couldn’t get into it because it was “too hard”. It is also a great choice for Souls veterans to whet your appetite while you eagerly await the next genuine From Software offering. There are so many unique and fun changes here that, although there is a definite difficulty decrease, you will really enjoy yourself.- Gaming Age

I think the brevity works to the game’s advantage. If it were a dozen or more hours of drawing the same designs over and over again, it’d start getting a little tiresome. Instead, you get a few hours to bask in one of the prettiest games of the generation, and it leaves before it wears out its welcome.- Gaming Age

As it stands, I’d absolutely suggest checking out Dauntless if you haven’t done so already. It’s an easy access free-to-play title with crossplay built-in for all platforms and doesn’t immediately try to nickel-and-dime you to death with add-ons and other items. The stuff you can buy is purely cosmetic, and there are plenty of earnable options available without needing to spend anything upfront. Also, it’s really fun to play, and as a big Monster Hunter fan, it’s nice to have a viable alternative to spend time with.- Gaming Age

At best, it feels like a well-made rehashing of much of what’s come before it, with a slightly harder difficulty level. There’s nothing wrong with that, to be sure, but it makes it hard to recommend The Sojourn unless you’ve exhausted most other possibilities of the genre already.- Gaming Age

Even if it’s not deep, it’s still very fun. The music is catchy and the gameplay is addictive, and it all adds up to make Conga Master Go one of the more enjoyable games I’ve played in awhile.- Gaming Age

Admittedly, at just $2, it’s hard to be that worked up about Mr. Blaster. But plenty of mobile games have shown that $2 can still give you a lot of content — and content is one thing Mr. Blaster clearly doesn’t have, which is why you should feel no concern about skipping it.- Gaming Age

Ultimately Sayonara Wild Hearts will be a permanent fixture on my Switch console (as well as my iPhone, as this title is one of the launch titles for Apple’s Apple Arcade service). While the Fool’s journey is a relatively short one, it will be extremely revisitable as one can strive to get the gold rank scores as well as collect all the diamonds strewn across the levels. Why wouldn’t you, with an excellent soundtrack and superb visual design, I couldn’t find a better way to pass the time.- Gaming Age

Performance-wise, the Vasara Collection is as solid as they come, even on the Vita. But really, that performance will only be impressive if, again, you’re really into shmups. If you’re not, it’ll all seem like a headache-inducing riot of noise and colour, but for fans of the genre, the Vasara Collection is probably a must-play.- Gaming Age

In fact, nothing about Pikuniku bothers me. It’s a happy, fun little game that needs to be enjoyed by everyone who owns a Switch, and the world is a better place with games like this in it.- Gaming Age

Himno clearly aspires to be much more than a simple platformer, but its execution falls well short of any greater goals it may have.- Gaming Age

As it stands, the old tried and true “fans of the series will like this game too” is honestly pretty accurate in regards to Borderlands 3. I’d say it’s a better game overall than The Pre-Sequel, and roughly on par with Borderlands 2. The post-game/end-game content is sufficient to keep you entertained well past the story, and the overall feel of the gunplay and looting is improved enough to make a difference. But if you’ve never enjoyed the series, Borderlands 3 won’t change your mind. Personally, I’ve really enjoyed my time with the game outside of the aforementioned technical issues and menu problems, and certainly suggest checking out Borderlands 3 if you haven’t done so already.- Gaming Age

What I’m getting at is that there’s nothing that makes Grave Keeper in any way memorable. It’s not even bad. It’s just there, a game that’ll fill space on your memory card and give you nothing of value in return. There’s really no reason why you should even think about picking it up when you could play literally anything else instead.- Gaming Age

Whether you know Links Awakening like the back of your hand or have never played then you will be in for a treat. This was a great game back in the day and still is! The only thing holding it back are the distracting framerate problems and even being less sensitive to these things it was noticeable to me. I don’t think it’s game breaking but might be for some. For anyone else they will find an adventure once lost to time and now back in all it’s glory!- Gaming Age

I won’t be giving it a free pass but all the important things in the game such as its charm and gameplay made the jump to Switch just fine and that’s really what counts. If you’re okay with some jank and want a very unique game then look no further than Deadly Premonition Origins!- Gaming Age

If you just want some stylized kills, of course, then you probably won’t mind the repetitiveness or the lack of story. And make no mistake, there are few games that are more stylized than Akane. But if you want anything more than style, then keep looking, because this isn’t a game with a whole lot of substance.- Gaming Age

The core of Golazo!’s gameplay is fine, It plays like a soccer game from the 16bit era. However in making it accessible, the team at Purple Tree omitted a little too much. The game is certainly worth a fun afternoon jaunt with some friends, but it’s not exactly going to be training the next wave of digital footballers.- Gaming Age

At the end of the day DAEMON X MACHINA is a mixed bag where where is a lot of content in here but with the lacking variety and tedious loading it feels repetitive just like reading this review! Why it still holds my attention is with fun core gameplay that feels like a good game with the wrong kind of structure. But if you really want a mech game and my criticisms do not apply to you then you’ll have a good time with DAEMON X MACHINA but for others you should try the eShop demo first.- Gaming Age

I can’t imagine who would be interested in what’s going on here. With a lousy main character and an interminable story that doesn’t go anywhere, even fans of the genre deserve better than this. It won’t offend anyone in its badness, but that hardly makes it worth checking out.- Gaming Age

What you see is exactly what you get, in all its retro-y, pixelated, brightly-coloured glory. At around $5, you’ll get what you pay for, as long as you’re paying for a solidly unspectacular platformer that does its thing with a minimum of fuss.- Gaming Age

However you want to describe it, though, there’s no denying Hob is great. It’s an action-adventure game that has an abundance of both of those things, and if you want some Zelda-adjacent action on your Switch, you’ll find plenty to love here.- Gaming Age

The gameplay has never been better and it carries over all the favorite modes from last year. I didn’t expect to be so glowing on this year’s release because on the surface this looked like NHL 19 the sequel, but I can happily report I was wrong and NHL 20 blasts a goal from the blue line.- Gaming Age

I’ve almost certainly played worse games than SpellKeeper. But that’s hardly an endorsement of what it has on offer. If you just want an inexpensive, forgettable puzzle (sorry, “logic”) game it’ll do the trick, but you could definitely find much better things to play.- Gaming Age

In the game’s defense, it does what it sets out to do relatively well. The controls are as tight as they need to be — which, in this case, is quite a bit, since you have to make all kinds of tight turns. But just because it’s fine for what it is doesn’t make #RaceDieRun any more interesting. Unless you have a masochistic desire to crash a whole bunch, your interest in being challenged will probably wane long, long before this game is over.- Gaming Age

Gears 5 has something for every Gears fan. The campaign plays well, even if the story is less than it could have been. Horde offers endless hours of co-op gameplay and depth, and the Versus modes are the best they have ever been. With Call of Duty still a few months away and Halo next year, Gears 5 hits at a time where this kind of great multiplayer gameplay is definitely lacking.- Gaming Age

The fact I’ve spent the past day playing and replaying Headliner shows how addictive it is. In fact, even as I’m writing this, I’m eager to go back and try out some different choices to see how that impacts the game. That’s not something that happens very often, at least in my experience, and it’s why this game is easily one of the best I’ve played in a very long time.- Gaming Age

This game is designed to get you to pay out as much money as possible, as often as possible, and it just so happens to be built around basketball. Admittedly, the basketball here is quite solid, but more often than not it feels like an afterthought to the main, casino-tinged event.- Gaming Age

It shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that Blair Witch is so solid. After all its developers, Bloober Time, were also behind the very creepy Layers of Fear (not mention the frighteningly bad Basement Crawl), so for them to apply the lessons from that game to an established horror property like Blair Witch Project is clearly a no-brainer. Nonetheless, it makes for a very enjoyable — and, more importantly, very creepy — horror game, and one that any aficionados of the genre would be wise to check out.- Gaming Age
