It makes the strongest argument yet for bringing over this style of gameplay to the motion control set up, and does a good job of washing out the horrible taste that titles like Red Steel and Far Cry might have left for early Wii adopters.

The look and feel of the different areas and environments are pretty well done, unfortunately, the fighting aspect of the game tends to be reasonably boring, slow and uncharacteristically hard especially when players can easily receive a game over screen in the first dungeon.

If you are just a casual fan, however, you may be turned off by the level of difficulty and realism the game provides. I'm happy to see the Brunswick series back, I just wish it was the version I played 10 years ago.

It lacks the originality of the first, and it reuses most of the same art assets the first employed, which is both understandable, given its minimalist approach, but also disappointing to see so little effort put forth to set it apart from its predecessor.

Battle Archives Vol. 1 does a graceful job in proper organization and presentation, and the ports are arcade-perfect --although they may lend themselves to a better appreciation for today's game mechanics. Unfortunately, the online multiplayer included in the Japanese release is sorely missed for the U.S. title, and that deeply lessens its value.

It's nice to see such a strong effort come forth from EA and I only hope they keep this kind of intensity in the future with their other franchises as well. NCAA Football 08 is a must buy for any fan of the grid iron.

Don't come in expecting an epic/grand/moving story, and keep in mind that this game is made for the big Tales fans.
