Visually solid with quality presentation, it's a great application to pick up and play for a few minutes at a time wherever one is. It does have its irritants here and there, and its control scheme isn't the best in the world, but all in all it's an above average title that at least tries to be slightly different.

Battlefield 3: Aftershock is worse than a bad game. It's an insult; a colossal middle finger from Electronic Arts to mobile players. There's literally nothing here to enjoy, only an awful lot to hate.

Normally, I'd say to just stick with Tiny Tower when asked about tower building games, but I feel as if Monopoly Hotels has the exact amount of charm, character and content to keep you interested for the long haul.

Pets vs Orcs has a lot going for it, not least of all its fresh take on mobile-strategy combat. Unfortunately balance issues and ridiculous IAP prices mean progressing through the game will either be very time consuming or cost you a fortune.

An okay game. If nothing else, it's a well-polished visual presentation that tries to do something more unique in an age full of carbon copied clones.

Mob 2 is a technically sound game that has nothing terribly wrong with it. It's cleanly presented and its design isn't terribly offensive. Nevertheless, it's based around a dated concept, and doesn't offer anything new. It's an app whose fun factor is strictly dependent on whether or not player enjoys this type of RPG.

Though it might be difficult to garner a maximum score in Clockwork Brain, the bulk of the application is a fantastic collection of brain teasers. Quirky and stylized, it's gratifying to feel intelligent through the rapid solving of puzzles and no two ever feel alike.

For most players, BlockHopper is too much of hassle to be fun. Everyone likes a challenge, but you cannot ask players perfection when your own control scheme doesn't accommodate for it. Unless you are comfortable with the control scheme and don't mind a bit of challenge, find another game to get your platformer fix.

Wonderfully presented and is not too bad a companion game when out running errands or walking the dog. Because of that context though, it's likely to be underplayed quite a bit. Still, if people are looking for something new and creative, then this is certainly the game to try out.

A pretty decent game. It's more or less standard in terms of core game play, but it does try to differentiate itself with a few unique elements such as training avatars and a highly polished visual aesthetic.

Tap Paradise Cove is a decent city-building social game, and it has its moments of reward. Unfortunately, it seems to hold back unless you're willing to offer up handfuls of cash. Given the availability of similar games that aren't nearly as pushy about microtransactions, you may as well chalk this one up as another broken tropical dream.

Shinobi ZIN has all the elements of a fun game, but shurikens itself in the foot with terrible execution.

Nosferatu - Run from the Sun isn't a bad game by any stretch, though it may seem a little uninspired beneath the hood (flying portions excepted). If anything, its presentation helps set it apart... and maybe that's what the developers intended after all?

The best-selling (and most addictive) iPhone apps are easily identified by their appealing visuals, fun gameplay, and great value. While it could use a little polish and expansion, Oh My Nut's colorful presentation and memorable physics puzzles make it well worth its budget price tag.

Minor difficulties and annoyances aside, The Drop Out is a serious contender for best physics puzzler on the iPhone. It's enjoyable, challenging, and most of all, fun.

Words With Friends is an enjoyable experience. It's not known for its originality, but the straightforward and friendly approach creates a great time for anyone into competitive word games.

Aside from the pachinko machine, there's nothing inherently unique about Samurai vs Zombies Defense. The game is everything you'd expect from a castle defense game that just happens to focus around the struggle between two unlikely enemies. While it's not necessarily anything new, it's definitely one of the better titles in this genre that we've seen.

A moderately fun puzzle game, though it can get fiendishly difficult, a factor not helped by the controls. But between that and the padding sensation, we aren't left with any overwhelming eagerness to replay it.

Tree World has some strong roots, but it's going to need a little more foliage if it wants to live up to its potential. This is definitely one to try, but let's hope some future updates flesh things out a little more.

While Universal Movie Tycoon could easily function as a game--and be a rather enjoyable one at that--it refuses to just be a pleasant reminder of some of your favorite film franchises in the middle of a fun experience. Instead, it insists upon being an advertisement in game's clothing, feeling more like a game version of Netflix that makes you earn your movies before you watch them--and even then you have to buy them.

Like the Triples themselves, Triple Trouble is harmless. It's not a bad game by any means, but we craved a lot more out of its unique mechanics than we ended up getting.

Peakour is definitely is not going to win any style points for originality. It is, however, a very functional puzzler with a good amount of content and a style of play that lends itself well to pick-up-and-play.

Dofus: Battles 2 might not bring anything revolutionary to the table, but it is a refreshing twist on the tower defense/attack genre that benefits from being set in an established fantasy world. It's not a game for the quick-twitch crowd, but if you're looking for something that rewards quick thinking and clever strategies, this is probably right up your alley.

In a mobile environment where zero dollars is fast becoming the new 99 cents, your time is the most precious resource of all. The only currency of consequence, I'd argue, in or out of any game. And when a title like Aero Vacation asks you to pay for your own time? You deserve better.

The bulk of Bloody Western is pretty good. So long as users don't mind the slow burn of questing and dueling, it's a nice change of pace from all the carbon copy mafia-themed games on the market.
