Despite potential frustration, however, SMILE Inc. is really pretty fun. It taps into that mobile gaming joy of simply diving into a game for a few minutes, yet still achieving something in that time. With a regular supply of missions and new characters to unlock, it’s sure to stick around on your phone for a while, too. Your high score may never be particularly huge, but you’ll still appreciate chipping away at it, and watching as the nastiness of office work really shines through.- Gamezebo

Zombie Anarchy feels a more respectable base-building game than most that have followed in Clash of Clans wake. It doesn’t offer enough innovations to be truly memorable, but if you’re itching to return to an old favorite genre, this is a pretty good one to try out. It won’t demand too much of you, but you’ll still feel like you’re getting stuff done.- Gamezebo

Gear.Club isn’t perfect then, but it is highly enjoyable. A further step towards a more sim like experience, its wealth of driving aids means it’ll appeal to all car fans. While there’s room for improvement, it’s great to find an adequate replacement to Real Racing 3. It might have taken a while to get there, but there’s plenty going on within Gear.Club to keep you hooked.- Gamezebo

What’s important is that DC Legends is much more worth your time and download space now than it looked like it was going to be earlier this year. It’s a very solid game with the potential to get even better over time, and we probably owe Canadian gamers our thanks for helping the developers work out its kinks.- Gamezebo

DragonVale certainly managed to cast a spell on some people who don’t typically fall for mobile games, and its possible that people’s love for cuteness and dragons — especially mashed together — plus high production values will enable DragonVale World to do the same. But I can’t be alone in hoping there was something a little bit more involved that just breeding an decorating this time around.- Gamezebo

On the plus side, there is a lot to do here. Different game modes including multiplayer (which is still a little flaky), as well as hundreds of career events means you won’t be running out of things to do any time soon. As a title that’s so lightweight yet enjoyable, it’ll almost be worth throwing a few bucks its way. Just try not to be lured in too much by its promises of wonders if you keep on paying up.- Gamezebo

If you’re up for a challenge and like cute, bouncing cats, Nekosan is worth a download. The monetization system is fair and will allow for a lot of free play, as long as you’re willing to watch some ads or replay some levels. The one-tap mechanic and the portrait orientation will also make it appealing for commuters, though the resulting cursing in frustration might not be ideal for public transportation.- Gamezebo

It’s certainly fun to shoot at aliens, but eventually you’ll find things turning too repetitive. You’ll feel as if you’re not gaining a substantial edge in combat. The kind of edge that would make you want to play more. That leaves Galaga Wars as the kind of game you’ll enjoy fleetingly, before inevitably seeking out a weightier frantic shooter.- Gamezebo

All things considered, Guardian Codex is a decent free-to-play RPG. It certainly has its problems, but it looks good and is fun in a by-the-numbers sort of way. If you’re patient enough to put up with the connection issues and occasional design quirks, it makes for an entertaining way to pass the time. That said, if you’re only looking to have one RPG in your rotation, there are plenty of better options out there.- Gamezebo

Middling dramatic choices aside, Children of Arkham was a great continuation of a really enjoyable and legitimately interesting Batman story. One that even manages to make the played-out tragedy of Thomas and Martha Wayne’s murder intriguing. The mobile release is still the weaker version when compare to consoles/PC, but if it’s your only option I’d wholeheartedly recommend it.- Gamezebo

Crap! I’m Broke: Out of Pocket is a stylish collection of mini-games wrapped in a simplified life sim package. It has a number of good ideas that initially come together into an engaging diversion, but the ultimate result is too shallow and grindy once your foot’s in the door.- Gamezebo

It’s super polished though, and there’s a decent chunk of game here to have a nibble at. But in the end it’s a little too throwaway, a little too lacking in the clout that the very best multiplayer games need to tie you down and ensure you’re in for the long haul. Still, it’s worth a crack, and it won’t cost you anything to pick it up. Just don’t expect it to become the new go-to app in your games folder and you should get along with it just fine.- Gamezebo

Mini Metro is an absolutely fantastic puzzle game that ticks all of my boxes – including some boxes I didn’t even know I had. I love the style, I love the simplicity, I love the complexity, I love the concept, and I love the execution. And I hope that you’ll give it a try and love it, too.- Gamezebo

Plants vs. Zombies Heroes has to walk a fine line balancing between the expectations of its franchise and its genre while also offering enough freshness to stand apart from them, and the fact that it does it with so much style deserves applause. If there’s room in the market for more than one big name CCG, this has a definite shot to be in that mix.- Gamezebo

Sadly, Gemini’s resplendent power is occasionally undermined by its own design. With a few key user experience modifications, such as controllable zoom, clear milestones, and optional hints or tips added to the HUD, the gameplay would be elevated. Aesthetically, however, the game is sublime.- Gamezebo

The core idea is a wild twist that still maintains the essence and strategy of the original game. The presentation is simple but functional and beautiful, even before you include the nine color palette swaps available in the full version. With more variety in its modes and improvements to the A.I., Really Bad Chess would be our preferred way to checkmate.- Gamezebo

Fear for Sale: Phantom Tide can be summarized as ordinary, but entertaining. The design sticks pretty close to casual adventure norms, never straying far from the expected amount or style of puzzles, hidden object scenes, and story details. Still, every game doesn’t have to be an innovator in order to be fun, and Fear for Sale definitely delivers on that front.- Gamezebo

It’s still bright, it’s still full of interesting ideas, and it’s still one of the most intriguing IP that Bioware has created. This might not be the best way to play it, and you will find yourself frustrated from time to time, but it has one very big thing going for it: convenience. Being portable makes this one of the easiest ways to play Jade Empire. Stick it on your phone or tablet, take it with you on a long trip, and despite the port’s failings, you’ll still find one of the best RPG experiences on mobile. And that’s high praise indeed.- Gamezebo

Ultimately, fans of the bubble shooter genre will love the new physics and unexpected challenges (and opportunities) they bring. The dynamism and responsiveness of each environment, along with the fun tools at your disposal, make each level far more engaging than your standard bubble shooting experience. Bubble Island 2: World Tour is free to play and worth the download for anyone who loves to pop.- Gamezebo

Dan The Man is old-fashioned beat ’em up fun of the purest kind, blended with classic platforming and sprinkled with a sense of humor. If no part of that formula interests you, it’s possible you might be new to video games altogether — in which case this would still be a nice entry point for you, so dive in anyway.- Gamezebo

The company is probably tired of tinkering with what should be a surefire winner, but my personal hope is that EA keeps at it with FIFA, because it hasn’t found the right mobile formula for it yet, and its Maddenization is a step in the wrong direction.- Gamezebo

Mafia III: Rivals isn’t technically a bad game. It’s a decent free mobile RPG, and we haven’t had a big mafia-themed game on mobile for a while now. Like …a few months, maybe. The problem is, there’s really nothing here that hasn’t been done before; several times over, in fact. If you’re burned out on this kind of stuff, I don’t think the organized crime motif is going to do anything to change that. However, if you’re actively looking for a new free-to-play RPG, well, I suppose you could do worse. Just don’t expect anything new or exciting.- Gamezebo

Treasure Buster is a very enjoyable game for what it is, and the RPG elements are definitely welcome. It’s not quite enough to prevent a feeling of familiarity and possible dullness from setting in, at least not if you play for extended periods of time, but when played in short bursts it’s not all that noticeable. Either way, it’s a fun game that’s worth a look if you like this kind of stuff.- Gamezebo

In an increasingly cynical world of devious ways to trick you into in-app purchases, or into making you feel like you’re having more fun than you are, Maximum Car is a truly pleasant return to good practices. It’ll scratch that Burnout itch for a while to come.- Gamezebo

There are niggles, there are problems, and there are times when you’ll need to put the game down for a while. But the likelihood is that you’ll come back to it all the same. And that’s the sign of a game that’s going to stick around on your home screen for a good long while.- Gamezebo

It’s a game that made us consistently laugh or gasp with delight at the story and the lovingly crafted way it’s presented. Burly Men at Sea is not only worth playing, but replaying until you’ve exhausted all of its adventures, swum every inch of its ocean, and left your thumbprint on its beautiful, bearded pages.- Gamezebo

Warlords is one of those games that you can play in quick chunks or get sucked into for an hour or two in one sitting. As long as you don’t mind the fact that it’s currently a solitary affair, this is a strong candidate for a place on your phone or tablet right away.- Gamezebo
