What Rotolla really needs is just that little something else. The main mode is great fun, but that's all there is to it, and something along the lines of a puzzle mode in which you have to work out how to line blocks up perfectly to clear each level would have been much appreciated.

The price is fair considering these games in physical form will set you back a pretty penny nowadays, meaning this is a collection that’s worth investigating for those who are curious about a cult classic handheld – or are just looking for a blast of sweet nostalgia.

Despite these problems, Monster Adventures is a lovely adventure title with some big ideas. If monster collecting and roguelike adventures are your bag, this is one to tame. Just take it slow and easy at first.

PAC'N-JUMP may be just another Doodle Jump clone, but it's a good Doodle Jump clone. With a little bit of variety and some fun retro flavor, PAC'N-JUMP offers a terrific alternative to The Doodler that any Pac-Maniac should enjoy.

It's certainly fun. But without much of a game there and no way to enjoy it single player, you really need to know what you're getting into less you be disappointed in what you find. That being said if your gaming does meet these criteria, Fingle is truly unique and definitely worth giving a try.

Little Acorns features quite a bit of content as well, with 60 stages spread out over three years, with four seasons apiece.

The game gives you tiny threads of story, but really relies on the ambiance and strange compelling puzzles to pull you along. It largely works, though if you're the kind of person that requires action or story to pull you along you'll probably be left disappointed. For me, I relished my time on that weird island, and was sad when it was over and I had to come back to reality.

Hambo has some quirks which are more a matter of personal preference as to whether you would appreciate them or not. Beyond that, with the exception of a couple of gameplay issues named above, Hambo is a pretty solid, fun game with over 200 levels, so you should be kept occupied for quite a while if you go with it.

However you choose to play Satellina, it’s a bare-bones but unique puzzle experience that simultaneously calms you down while causing your heart to pitter-patter during its more intense moments.

It’s worth mentioning that this is not a game for younger kids, as enticing as it might be, as it does have plenty of violence, some semi-questionable language, and some implied sexuality. For everyone else with even the slightest manga/anime leanings, you’ll want to give One Piece Treasure Cruise a shot.

If you’re looking for a tense game that’s heavy on storytelling (and an absolute treat for you eyes), Lost Within is an easy recommendation — especially for gamers who like a good fright.

Taken as a game, Pivvot lack the edge-of-your-seat challenge I’d hoped to find here. Taken as an experience, Pivvot is a trippy, hypnotic ride that’s perfectly suited to a touch device. Whether or not you’ll enjoy Pivvot is largely dependent on what you’re expecting from it. If you’re in the mood for hypnotic rather than hyperactive, consider Pivvot money well spent.

If you're craving a shiny new fighting game, Street Fighter X Tekken is definitely pretty, but know that the entry cost won't be the last time you'll have to purchase something for an optimal experience.

Despite the giant price hurdle, I really can't complain too much. Juggernaut: Revenge of Sovereign looks great, plays great, and has plenty of different modes to keep a player occupied for a long time.

Despite these issues, Skylanders Lost Islands is not a game that feels incomplete. If you know a youngster who's a fan of Skylanders, or if you're a fan yourself, take a second to introduce your plastic pals to the Mabu's island home.

A game that seems like it's trying to wheedle even more cash out of you despite its base price tag. It's still fun, and one of the better examples of tower defense on the market, but it's hard to escape the impression that Bloons TD 4 wasn't so piratical in its drive to urge you to spend premium currency.

The game is a wonderful take on the Air Hockey concept, with tons of action-packed twists every way you turn, and that frantic addictiveness of a great arcade game. The environmental hazards and power-ups are exciting and unique, and I don’t think I’ll ever look at a regular old game of Air Hockey quite the same again!

It starts off superbly, with the promise of a dark, mature fantasy tale wrapped up in an utterly stunning multimedia package, but once you get into the meat of the story it becomes little more than a succession of dull, often-annoying combat sequences.

The bottom line here is that you're just not going to find many top-down dungeon crawlers better than this one. Warhammer Quest is an outstanding example of the genre, and proof that you don't always need a new trick to impress the crowd if you can perform your old trick really, really well.

Little touches like bomb pegs, fire and ice pegs, and pegs that multiply the number of babies all helped to keep Kickin Momma fun – but with a general lack of challenge and originality, there simply wasn't anything here to blow us away. Fans of Peggle will no doubt enjoy what Kickin Momma has to offer, but at the same time, it doesn't offer anything we haven't seen before.
