All in all Dirt 2 is a marked improvement on Dirt and a solid entry into the McRae series.

Rayman Origins is one of the best 2D platformers of this generation, a masterpiece of a game. It is a showcase for how they should be done, what can be achieved. Progress is balanced, levels are challenging without being unfair and it looks beautiful.

This is the perfect game to really see who has the patience and stamina to go all the way.

Velocity is an exceptional and in many ways ground breaking game. To call it the best mini out there is doing it a disservice. In truth, Velocity is a must have game on whatever system you can get it on.

A super enjoyable puzzle/shooter hybrid.

What you take out of Flower is really your own choice, as an experience it is highly recommended if you have become bored with the majority of releases today. If you prefer your gaming to be a little left of centre than the latest chart topping release then this is for you.

Velocity Ultra definitely has a minimalist approach to the graphics, but then the game doesn’t need to be flashy, the gameplay is what will make it stand out from the crowd. Music is at times repetitive and, as previously stated, the game takes a few too many levels to get going, but these are minor quibbles in an otherwise brilliant title.

Now is a great time to jump in for new players, but established players will quickly tire of grinding the same content.

Problems aside though, Dark Chronicle is a truly captivating game. A great story coupled with decent controls, features and more extra bits than anyone could ever think of.

If high speed crashes and action packed races are your thing then there is no reason not to give GRID a try.

Those who enjoyed the original will again lap up everything this has to offer, but the unconverted will remain as such.

There are a number of good and inspired moments, but for each one, you can think of something else that would have been better.

A stunning game with great graphics, sound and outstanding gameplay that adds up a top class fighting game.

Ultimately despite of the unduly harsh criticism that surrounds this version, there is no denying the quality of Bayonetta even when the storyline becomes a little too spun out for our taste.

The benchmark that other Xbox titles should strive for: a solid combination of gameplay, graphics and variety.

So there you have it, Persona 3 soon warms up to be a memorable experience after a slow burning introduction. For those still hanging onto their PS2 before jumping into the next generation, it’s an essential acquisition for genre fans.

It's an ideal sequel that should satisfy your hunger for more of the same, and a genuinely charming game in its own right.

The most accomplished racing game on the PSP by a mile, and it might just be the second best game on the system across all the genres.

Ultimately, this is an enjoyable and involving game, marred by an unhelpful interface and over-complicated controls. There’s a decent game hiding in there somewhere - if you’re willing to persevere.

Futurlab made a bold claim that Velocity 2X is the game of the year 2014… They are not wrong.

It’s a shame that this could be destined for obscurity because it’s certainly one of the most unique games this year and a series we wouldn’t mind seeing continue.

Insomniac certainly knows how to deliver a release that caters for all players of differing abilities.

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is an excellent fighter that deserves attention.

The story does finally wrap itself up nicely, and the way you meet up with and fight against your former selves is a rarity handled well. Not a classic game, but very solid nonetheless.

Fans of the games are going to love coming back to experience them all over again, with lovely updated visuals and some tweaks that enhance the gameplay just the right amount. Newcomers will find this a lovely introduction into Final Fantasy and if this sells enough, you never know…we may get FFVII HD afterall. But even if we don’t, this is great in its own right.

Sam Barlow has proven himself in the past to be an excellent writer, but with Her Story he has completely outdone himself and set the bar as high as it has ever been.

Punch-Out is a welcome return for an old favourite that has spent far too long in the sidelines.

The lack of an Xbox Live option is especially disappointing, as there will be no opportunity to correct outstanding bugs nor offer fans an additional planet or mission(s) to download.
