For me, Grounded 2’s world is attractive enough to spend dozens of hours in it. Unfortunately, this world’s content, mechanics, and optimization seem to be downsides. Maybe in six months, it will be in excellent shape and deserve attention.

Creating intricate networks of machines in games like StarRupture and watching them work is undoubtedly enjoyable, as is exploring new spaces and finding the treasures they hide. StarRupture has this same calm rhythm, but it adds a touch of mystery and danger to keep things interesting. Although StarRupture is still in its early stages, it has great potential and a solid foundation. However, a full assessment of the game's potential requires waiting for its release. If you prioritize top-notch graphics for full immersion in the game world, you may want to explore other options. However, if you are drawn to the curated exploration experience of a game inspired by the original Half-Life, then Abiotic Factor is worth considering. Announced a few months ago, No Rest for the Wicked is reminiscent of games like Diablo and Hades, and FromSoftware games, and also takes nice things from other series. It's not as cute and fluffy as Ori, but while the tone and atmosphere is significantly darker, you can see some similarities in the highly detailed, "painterly" graphics that I can't compare to any other game. Despite being in early access, Enshrouded shows incredible promise, and while it would be easy to write off the game as a Valheim clone, it's actually much more than that. The game has a noticeable difficulty spike, but it disappears as soon as someone joins you. The world of Embervale is simply breathtaking and perfectly combines hyperrealism and whimsical fantasy. Even the most dangerous parts of the game are pleasing to the eye, and the game itself is simply incredible. [Early Access Provisional Score = 80]

What Starship Troopers: Extermination can give is a fun and enjoyable fight with bugs, trying to somehow survive with 15 players who are trying in every possible way to kill you along with bugs, or just doing nothing at the base. But in the end the game feels smooth and leaves a pleasant aftertaste, at this point the game has a huge potential for development. I liked the time spent in the game, but the lack of content is self-evident. [Early Access Provisional Score = 85]

Disney Speedstorm is not bad, but it is not for everyone. The game has many options for personalization and pace of the game is terrific. Fans of the Kart series will love this game. The fact that it supports crossplay will open many doors, and the content that should be added with each update will not make you bored. But for many players, the game will seem strange and slow. Despite the bugs and crashes, incomprehensible mechanics and the complete emptiness of the island, there is something to like in Sons Of The Forest. The best part of this game, as weird as it sounds, is the forest itself and what they did to the game's visuals. [Early Access Provisional Score = 75]

Disney Dreamlight Valley is an amazing life simulation where iconic characters are all around you and you can almost touch them. Adding these instantly recognizable villagers to your kingdom and befriending them through quests is fun, even if a lot of it comes down to boring errands. Even with a bunch of issues and bugs and no final act in this Early Access state, the game is well worth your time. Just for the sake of being closer to this beautiful world. Seed of Life had a ton of potential and surprised me in so many ways for what just two developers came together to create. The foundation of the story was interesting, and the world was truly stunning to walk through, but it unfortunately just couldn't grab hold of me and fell apart when it came to gameplay. It has been a year since the game was released, and I would be seriously interested in seeing what MadLight developers have been working on in the meantime. I genuinely hope that the negative reviews haven't pushed them away from making games, because, despite Seed of Life's hiccups, they have a tremendous amount of talent. While it wasn't the game for me, you can certainly try out Seed of Life on Steam for yourself, and you might even luck up and catch it on sale.

V Rising is a decent multiplayer survival sim. The game definitely deserves your attention. For a small price, you can get a large amount of content that will take dozens of hours to complete and this is only just the beginning. [Early Access Provisional Score = 90]

In my opinion, especially with all of the bugs, you should save your money on this one or wait until a heavily discounted sale. Maybe in a year or so they’ll iron out some of the issues that plagued its release and work on the “fun factor”, but it just isn’t there right now for this reviewer to feel comfortable recommending it to our readers or friends.

The story of Doctor Who: Edge of Reality follows the classic canon of the series, developing very vigorously and featuring interesting plot twists and a stunning end. The game is worth playing through, but the number of bugs and glitches interfere with the enjoyment and can force you to restart your playthrough. The idea and certain features such as the mechanics of riddles, musical accompaniment, the story of a huge universe filled with detailed lore are amazing, but the realization leaves much to be desired.

I enjoyed my time in AeternoBladeII but alas I can not give it more than 4.5/10 due to poor optimization, stubborn camera and an overall dated game design.

Going Medieval is an impressive colony-building sim, with lots of potential and a little room for improvement. Even in its current Early Access state, it is tons of fun, with high replayability due to its in-depth customization. You can make it as difficult as possible with a variety of options to choose from and just sit back and build huge settlements if that's your forte, or you could start in the dead of winter, with one villager, and brutal raids every night. Going Medieval is extremely ambitious, with many interesting systems to sink your teeth into, and a delightful world out there to explore. If only they'd let us go just a bit farther one day.

Overall, Valheim is a fairly complete game even though it is still in early-access. It suffers from some of the normal bugs and glitches that you see in other early-access titles but it also has a lot of content that is wonderful and works well. It is a great group game if you have a bunch of friends who feel like building Norse villages and going raiding. You can get this on Steam right now. I can't wait for future updates. One plus side of this release is that Skyforge is free to play! If you own a Nintendo Switch, there is absolutely no risk at all involved for you to jump in the game and try it out for yourself. I always highly encourage anyone who has even the slightest bit of interest to try it out for themselves. I will definitely be keeping my eye on Skyforge for the next few weeks to see whether or not they pull through on their end with fixes. If that happens, I would be more than happy to update this review with a newer article, score, and impressions. For now, I’ll just have to say goodbye to my beautiful wings and halo, and hang them up for a day when they can be utilized to their fullest without the constant crashing.

The simulation game is extremely dynamic and event-driven. In this, you are going to experience emergent behaviors from the game establishment patrons, as well as the customers. This will give the players a significant opportunity to have fun at the SimCasino. No matter what your playing style is, you can play and love this title. You can decide to focus on designing the casino or creating an ultra-luxurious resort, or just want to be profit-driven. SimCasino has been designed for everyone and all types of players will be able to take part in it.

The overzealous monetization aside, A3 is a solid mobile MMO, and for anybody looking for PvE progression, the mid-level dungeons available in A3 start to provide an acceptable level of difficulty and engaging combat mechanics. the difficulty A3 has is the number of sub systems that artificially increase the amount of time spent sorting your way through sub menus makes getting to dungeons something of a trial. Thankfully much of my complaints are mute in Battle Royale.

Hammerting is a great concept that runs afoul of its status as an early access game. Although systems are largely in place, some more polish and a mountain load of content could put Hammerting on its way to be a masterpiece of dwarven craftmanship. [Early Access Provisional Score = 60]

Overall I really enjoyed my time spent in Night of the Dead. It has solid base building, a decent skill tree that allows for upgrades to the character and recipes you can learn to craft. The crafting system offers a good variety of things (you can learn to craft a lightsaber). It has a good-sized map to explore and gather various items from. And the various traps I could build were fun to play with every night as a new zombie horde approached my base. [Early Access Provisional Score = 85]

Overall I feel Big Farm: Story is a nice game with a decent amount of content in this stage of its Early Access. But it felt too grindy to me with how the leveling and farming was set up and reminded me more of a mobile game where you spend IRL money to unlock things faster. This may turn into a gem of a game down the road, but as it stands now it’s a decent game but has some faults. [Early Access Provisional Score = 65]

Bartlow’s Dread Machine is a fun, action-packed dual-stick shooter that offers unique mechanics, details graphics, and an enjoyable storyline so far. I am eager to finish the game and continue on the mission. As an avid gamer, I would highly suggest trying this one out. With different levels, upgrades, and coop modes that can change how the game feels and plays each time, this will be a fantastic title for anyone. It is easy to pick up, a low learning curve, and hours of fun. [Early Access Provisional Score = 70]

Blightbound is the latest release from developer Ronimo Games, published by Devolver Digital. The game is in early access on Steam and shows potential. Out of the gate, it is fun to play with a few interesting mechanics. But issues quickly rise to the surface that may make this a wait and see purchase for most players. [Early Access Provisional Score = 65]

With charming, stylized graphics, and unique gameplay mechanics, I would highly recommend this game. While there are a few bugs to be ironed out, it is in Early Access, and those things will more than likely be fixed before we know it.

Demon’s Rise: War for the Deep tries to be a good strategy game. It offers a little depth, a little fun, and a little bit of a fantasy for those who want it. It, unfortunately, falls short of offering a memorable fantasy experience with its derivative premise, janky controls, and limited re-playability.

At this point, I can not recommend the game due to its outdated graphics, clunky mechanics, boring combat and other problems.

The egregious monetization can't be overlooked in this game. Originally I was being lenient and choosing to simply ignore it but after playing the game for 10 hours it very quickly became clear this game is only interested in putting up as many obstacles as possible and selling you the solution to these problems. While it's true that a lot of these items can be earned in-game, they make it very clear that paying is the better option. Combine that with the simple and repetitive nature of the game and I can't honestly recommend this. As it's free though you have nothing to lose by trying it for yourself, just understand though what type of game you are getting yourself into.

In Arboria, players start a journey in this dark rogue-lite game as a warrior descending into the caverns to heal your life tree and pay tribute to the gods. Descend into the ever-changing Durnar and uncover the mysteries of your tribe. Fighting your way through some creepy crawlies with a variety of Symbiotic Weapons. There is potential in this game that, at least at this point in early access, is not yet fully realized. [Early Access Provisional Score =50]

Element Space had choices that impacted the game like Mass Effect which I liked. Unfortunately, there were many bugs that caused the game time to be funny, frustrating, and annoying. A good game is there somewhere but the problems need to be fixed.

Even in the Early Access phase, Gordian Quest is a polished, solid game. If you enjoy the genre, you will get a few hours of enthusiastic card-slinging in the first Act as your party of brave heroes struggles to remove the curse plaguing the land. The game already features plenty of content to keep players happy and manages to carve its own little niche by combining CCG gameplay with roguelite and RPG elements. [Early Access Provisional Score = 80]

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened tries to recapture the glory and nostalgia that the first game commanded so well. There’s some fun to be had but I don’t think it’s worth the $40 asking price for Early Access. Although I am excited that Awakened will be available on Switch later this year, I think I would rather have a port of Dungeon Defenders II instead. Right now, this is a game you should sleep on. Just like the tonal balance between a businessman in a maid outfit trying to escape an earthquake while making a life or death decision, Disaster Report 4: Summer Memoires can feel like an odd tightrope walk. Despite its problems, I was hooked. Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories is a unique, sometimes earth-shattering experience. It doesn’t get everything right but it’s the nearest you’ll ever want to get to an earthquake and that works for me.

If you’re looking for a hard knocks challenge then Murder By Numbers is probably not for you, and that is no real surprise. Murder By Numbers comes from the same team that released Hatoful Boyfriend into the wild and it relies on some fantastic writing. Filled with quirky 90s cheese, engaging characters, and some fantastic animation, Murder by numbers is the sort of case file that goes above and beyond the line of duty.

At best Might & Magic Heroes: Era of Chaos is a very average cash grab that features stale gameplay and predatory monetization tactics.

Overall Not For Broadcast has a satirical story that is well written, dark and has some great acting in it. The core game of being the News Producer and editing everything on the fly is a really well-done sim that can at times be stressful as more things get introduced every level. I really enjoyed my time playing Not For Broadcast and was sad that is was over so soon, but I am excited to see how this all ends. [Early Access Provisional Score = 95]

I hope that Stoneshard only improves in the future and will eventually leave Early Access as a robust, feature-filled experience. For now, I would probably steer clear however and wait for the improvements to come first. [Early Access Provisional Score = 70]

WWE 2K20 features a lot of modes and a full WWE roster but that’s all you get in the game. If you want to enjoy the game, you have to get along with numerous technical issues, forget about any online feature, and get used to the awkward narration of MyPlayer.

Stranded Sails is the perfect game for those who enjoy learning and structured game play. I found every new discovery exciting, cooking food for my crew rewarding and fishing as always put me in my zen zone but unfortunately I did not get the adventuring survival I was hoping for which is a shame really because it is also obvious that a lot of hard work has gone into this title as a studio and I look forward to watching Lemondrop evolve.

If you're looking for something horribly cheesy with simple controls, this could be something you might enjoy, and to be honest, if the graphics were better, that would be exactly how I would spin this. As a gouda inspired feast of intentional badness. But when you combine the script, the controls, and the graphics, it ends up just feeling like a very ambitious game that never really got there.

This is a big failure for Cracked Head Games, but it might lead them not to repeat the same mistakes in their next project.

The gameplay, art, and controls are all solid, the music is nice but an odd choice for a platformer, and the voice acting is good, but it’s largely marred by the mashup fanfic plot. I found a few bugs, and there was some lag in controls, but they were largely incidental, and to be expected in a small team game this soon out of Early Access. By and large, it’s an okay offering, but not 15$ okay.

Instead of free to play, if pay to win isn’t an attractive label for Joyloft Co., they should have relabelled it paid progression because when you log in, that’s exactly what you get.

Boasting nice graphics and soundtrack, but forgettable story and poor controls.

Clam man got a smile or two out of me in places, but at best it’s a semi-interactive read along that tries to be a bit out there but falls flat.

Unruly Heroes is a game of boinks and swooshes. Everything bounces around weightlessly and nothing makes sense.

Beacon scratches that itch you may have to test yourself to not only get better but to solve the mysteries of this planet. The DNA mechanic offers a fun twist and gives you multiple options to get through the game. It’s currently on sale on Steam for 19.99 USD.

Lonely In The Winter is a turn-based JPRG that falls a bit short of where it could be. With poorly optimized moments which cause frame rates to tank and a story that feels inconclusive, it feels like an Early Access title more than a completed project. That being said, the story does have some potential if it were fleshed out more.

Clock simulator really is a cluster of mini-games that set players against the clock. This is an interesting idea that doesn't quite go far enough meaning that the bell tolls far too quickly for this unusual indie game.

A sci-fi third-person shooter that sets the player against massive hoards of giant monster, insects, and aliens. EDF lacks in story and contains intentionally bad dialogue, but you get to blow up lots of stuff.

Steel Rats ultimately ends up being a good platforming game idea marred by unfortunate controls and physics, Combine that with a storyline that seems to be trying too hard to be taken seriously and you're left with almost no driving reason to play other than stubbornness, which does not really equate to fun.

I was able to beat this game in less than two hours. There is very little in the way of a story except for being a lonely Koala Bear looking for his mate. He is depressed most of the game and nothing good happens.

Safe House feels more like a beginning more than a complete game. A formula, more than a package. The artwork is great and every aspect of the game has potential that I hope a one-man team can address to truly put it in the spotlight.

Overall Wild West Online in its current state does not offer anything worth spending at its full asking price for. The player number seems to continue to drop and while the dev team continues to patch the game, it could be too little too late. A game that should be in Beta, is instead in full release.

The game is clunky and frustrating. It provides some fun in estimating firing ranges for your tanks, but it makes that fun really hard to get to and loads it with the burdens of no tutorial, subpar UI, and frustrating movement mechanics. Whatever you’d come to this game looking for, it’s probably done better somewhere else.

Kaet Must Die is meant to be a hard game, but it crosses the threshold of what is fun in a hard game. Although everyone's point of view of what fun is, is different obviously. The game seems more catered towards being a game that is streamed for the jump scares reactions that several audiences appreciate. Because there are jump scares, oh yes there are plenty of jump scares.

Frankly, Mecho Tales breaks my heart because I want to see more creative talent and this team has so much promise in their character designs. While Mecho Tales is not an entirely broken game, it is a game that doesn’t quite seem to know what it wants to be.
