If Antonio Salieri was the boss of these developers, it would explain a lot of things. The First Templar is a prime example of a mediocre game that won't hurt nor warm your gamer's heart.

Popular and well known strategy series got a very nice facelift with this highly enhanced remake which makes a good game even better. It's a matter of honour for every virtual soldier to play this game because of its atmosphere, historical accuracy and surprising accessibility.

Bastion relies heavily on storytelling, which is not usual in the action RPG genre and it could be a little bit too distracting for hardcore warriors. However, if you are looking for very pleasant, enjoyable and relaxing gameplay with a fine story for a day or two, or if you want to introduce this genre to your girlfriend, there's no need to look further.

You stick your nose under your first sod and there you are – in another world. Terraria is not much of a Minecraft 2D rip-off, it's an addictive pursuit of perfection that entertains; even though it stinks of a sweat from the adits.

Because of its minimalistic design and unique feel, From Dust is one of the most intriguing experience of this year. However, its flaws in controlling and dependance upon coincidence in the game ruins the gameplay and make it somewhat frustrating to no avail.

An above-average game from a time period that's really hard to find in current games. It is defected by several unfortunate design decisions and by sticking too much to its literary original. However, Henryk Sienkiewicz's fans and those 17th century warfare lovers should not hesitate to try it.

An outdated game – mentally and physically – that tries to switch from the West nostalgia to a drug dealers filling concrete jungle. Not a good idea. "Among the blind the one-eyed man is king" was the saying. Now, we can call it "The Ugly Duckling". But unfortunately, this is where the story ends – no maturing into a beautiful swan. And now back to the machines, back to the West!

One of the worst movie add-ons of today. This linear, soulless, and ugly action shooter is wrong in almost every aspect. Because of the fact it does actually have some tolerable music and of the fact we will not see another Harry Potter in a very long long time, we give it at least the second worst rating from our scale.

Beat 'em up game with sophisticated fight system and highly detailed arenas. It has its flaws and lack certain depth, but as a appetizer before Tekken 3DS it works very well.

The best World War I combat flight simulator ever. To hold your airplane in the skies is an easy task. But it will take some time and lot of training to become a real ace. Rise of Flight is heavily inspired by IL-2 Sturmovik's style and it is able to deliver and entertain almost every virtual pilot.

If we look at it from the perspective of a five-year=old boy, fascinated by the fact that he could control his movie heroes, it could be one of the best racing games of the year. But even from general perspective, Cars 2 is a very simple but enjoyable game and one of the better ones in the childrens games category.

Outstanding game, which requires all your skills and patience. As a reward you can get amazing adventure with beautiful graphics and new features, that makes this classic more accessible even for today's fussy gamers.

Slightly above-average game with dull campaign and relatively distinctive multiplayer, which is ruined by unpleasant mistakes.

Awfully outdated, unfinished, bringing nothing new, but still quite amusing. Despite all of its flaws, Duke Nukem Forever is a legend and nostalgia trip for many fans who gladly forget all of its failings.

Based on the classic book, just like the previous part, Madness Returns tries to follow up its predecessor's success and thinks that more brutality, sickness and weirdo-like patterns are enough to achieve it. Apart from an unrepeatable graphic style and some good passages it barely keeps our attention. Maybe next time.

A trivial hack and slash action with very little RPG thrown in the mix, which could be fun but only for a short period of time. From the story through graphics over to gameplay and game mechanics – Hunted is just above the edge of average, which is mostly due to a solid co-op mode.

Not even a demolition hullaballoo helps, when a concept and a central idea are missing. Red Faction Armageddon drilled into the depths of Mars more than it is healthy for a good shooter. Volition has created a shooter for one night that you will not remember the next morning when you wake up.

Dungeon Siege III has achieved the impossible – it has finally infiltrated consoles, which was a good move by itself. Otherwise it is solid action-based fun, even though we cannot get rid of a suspicion that the whole thing could be better. This applies especially to the PC version, which suffers from poor controls and user interface.

Another game in the style of Tower Defence, this time from its own perspective. You must prevent your enemies from passing through by building towers and by fierce shooting, just like in any other FPS. Sanctum may entertain you for a while, and the while lasts quite long, but many types of towers and enemies are insufficient defence against intrusive stereotype. The game is lifeless and dry like Tutankhamun's mummy.

Well-done action, especially if you play the multiplayer. It separates the original formula from any major fear, but fortunately replaces it with entertaining and solid shooting. If you are a fan of the first two parts, you cannot miss with the third part. And if you think your action games are not dark and bloody enough, then you will be satisfied too.

It is a great pity that Grasshopper did not manage to match so masterly created environment and a story packed with black humour with a game of appropriate quality. Each of the great ideas is almost perfectly drowned in a flood of incomprehensible errors.

A slap in the face to all action oriented games. Solar 2 is a miraculously calm but addictive game which radiates seducing serenity and invites you to come to a cosmos, where you (by your own hands) create and destroy planets and the entire constellations in one big procedurally generated universe.
