One of the best titles for the system and a fitting example of how to use a popular license to excellent effect.

With its challenging missions, good sense of tension (heightened by moody music), engaging storyline and impressive graphics, NovaLogic might have single-handedly revived interest in a much-neglected console.

It opens a world of enchantment for younger players and delivers an interactive version, albeit scaled down, of the film.

Fun, addictive, and presentation-wise it’s so glossy that you can’t help but admire its polished spingle-spangle sparkle, even if you don’t like tennis.

It won't convert those who think basketball is a monotonous procession of points until the game is decided in the last 30 seconds, but its multiplayer larks will bring joy to clans everywhere.

A breathtaking visual experience. X-Box, PS2, and GameCube may have titles that push more polygons, but it's Sega's attention to detail, quality of texture mapping, and the overall scale of the game world that makes Shenmue 2 stand out.

The colour and graphics in the game are flawless and your quest to find Majora's Mask is more intriguing and thought-provoking the deeper you get into the game.

A solid real-time strategy for a system that offers few games requiring much thought.

Yes, Rare should have made the gameplay a little more original, pumped up the enemy AI, and definitely fixed the save system. But they gave the people what they wanted, and in that respect they've done a terrific job. There's so much to explore, kill, blow up and maim in this game that it offers hours and hours of bullet-riddled excitement.

With its high speed arcade thrills and multi-player modes, it seems a pity that a Nintendo 64 version of Namco's racer wasn't released a little earlier in the system's life, as it have surely boosted its flagging sales. Ridge Racer 64 is a title that will appeal to everyone, bar simulation fans.

The range of gameplay features is truly expansive beyond belief and one minute you may be charging around as a rhino, the next you may be riding in a slot car or mine cart or even a jet ski as part of the bonus games.

The weapons effects are likewise perfect, with the machine gun sounds being nothing short of thunderous and the sounds of bullets whizzing past your head being just like you'd imagine them.

N64 owners yet to experience the delights of the Resident Evil games should put this on the top of their shopping list. Tense, thrilling, well-designed and addictive, Resident Evil 2 has it all.

The only real complaint I have with Tony Hawk's is the fact that the game gets very samey after a while.

It manages to be one of those rare simple-to-learn but hard-to-master games that, for the most part, end up becoming classics. Mario Golf deserves to join them. Despite the game being such fun to play, it's a bit of a shame that the courses stay soundly within the realms of the possible.

This is something that shouldn't be passed up by anyone. If you are impatient with videogames or don't like GT style racing games, I suggest you at least give it a rent. Play a few hours and unlock a few cars, you'll be hooked and will love every second of it.

Whilst Namco's latest offering may lack the pedantic attention to detail and realistic physics of Gran Turismo, it makes up for it with pure, high-octane thrills. And nothing else on the PlayStation can come close...

Street Fighter Alpha 3 won't steal the profile from the more flashy entries in the fighting genre, but those who know, will find the best fighting experience next to a "Virtua Fighter 3" arcade machine.

One of the most enjoyable first-person perspective shoot 'em ups that I've ever played. If you enjoy this style of game, don't miss it! Oh, and be sure to get one of those 4MB expansion paks so that you can enjoy it in full high-resolution splendour.
