Gran Turismo is no longer the superstar it once was, as we are no longer impressed by tons of cars and lovely polygons, just like most of us no longer think poodle-hair and Def Leppard are hot stuff. The world is a different place today, as is the racing genre, but Gran Turismo remains stuck in the past.

Great open world, tons to do, amazing visuals, naval battles and a solid soundtrack. Sounds great? It would be if not for the total lack of any challenge. The simple fights never propose anything close to danger and the feeling of repetition soon sets in. Assassin’s Casual yaaaar. So much potential wasted.

One of the strongest launch titles of the PlayStation 4 is definitely Killzone: Shadow Fall. But that is mainly due to stellar graphical fidelity and a solid multiplayer. While the story is great, some of the characters are lacking. What we are left with is a top tier first person shooter, that might be forgotten in a few years even if right now it is the title to buy to show off your new PS4.

It’s funwhile it lasts, has some good ideas and shows that the series’ formula is still compelling. But after a five-year hiatus, it feels way too short.

The most refreshing Zelda game in a long while, and yet additional proof that Nintendo knows how to utilize the 3DS like no one else. An essential game for the platform.

Very close to being the best Lego game yet, and sure to entertain kids, families and comic book fans alike.

Super Mario 3D World is a sublime Mario adventure. Finding the three stars and one stamp every level contains quickly becomes an obsession, which is a result of Nintendo's brilliant level design.

Knack has some fundamental problems, but it can be entertaining. Moments of inspiration and strong design are held back by the game’s many annoyances, though. Proof that charm isn’t always enough.

Once again, Housemarque shows download-only titles can go toe to toe with gaming heavyweights. Resogun is the kind of game that is worth getting a PS4 for.

Rivals offers thrilling arcade racing of the kind the kind that you can just pick up and play a few rounds of, and has enough graphical prowess for you to show off your new console for your friends. We could do with a little more innovation next time, though.

Soul Calibur II is an excellent fighting game that’s aged well, and this HD version is very faithful to the original. We’re puzzled by the price tag, though, as you can get Soul Calibur V for the same money.

The improvements over the last-gen version may not be huge, but the more you play, the more noticeable they become. EA has used the added power to streamline and refine the recipe that made FIFA 13 and 14 great on the old consoles.

Rayman Fiesta Run might not be as great a platformer as Legends or Origins, but it takes the formula from Rayman Jungle Run and refines and expands that. With a harder difficulty and an option to cheat a bit, it caters for both the casual and experienced gamer. It is simply a fantastic platformer for mobiles.

Besides being an excellent Assassin's Creed game, Black Flag is also the best pirate game we can remember playing, and makes us wonder why more studios haven't tried their hand at the genre. Black Flag delivers. Yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate's life for me!

Battlefield 4 is far from a revolution, but it is undoubtedly a peak for the series. It's everything you may have missed from the previous game, and on PS4 we finally get a console port that doesn't feel like a string of compromises. BF4 delivers multiplayer action of the grandest kind, and that should be your reason for getting the game. Single-player can safely be ignored.

This reads as a harsh review, but the basic building blocks are still in place. And it's a good game compared to others. However it pales when stacked against the previous two masterpieces. The Batman in Origins is seemingly a metaphor for his creators: less experienced, and making the odd mistake.

Netherrealms take the framework of their iOS version of Injustice: Gods Among Us and puts Batman in charge. Nice look, solid controls and decent audio is let down by freemium that hardly lets you fight more than 15 minutes without paying up or waiting. What a shame.

If you are into rock music you will love the track list. And as a bonus Rocksmith 2014 truly teaches you to play the guitar or bass. Just don’t expect to be held in the hand if you are a total beginner or challenged if you are an experienced musician.

It’s like watching a great TV series. Out of the 12 hours you will only find about two hours of "real" gaming though, which might be too little for some. Insanely high production values, great story and good acting makes this worth getting if you want the best in interactive movies.

When the Wonderful 101 manages to restrain its own chaos and make room for its myriad of ideas, it’s a joyous experience. Unfortunately it trips itself and stumbles over obvious issues that should have been handled more elegantly. A nice superhero adventure that could have been much better.

Things have a tendency to gets low if you’re playing multiplayer with Diablo-newbies, as the inventory interface is rather slow. But once you’ve got it figured, Diablo III on console is an great experience and an excellent port, that even manages to dodge some of the issues from the PC version and adds a few new tricks. Well worth getting if you don’t own the PC version already.
