MLB 09: The Show on the PlayStation 2 easily got the least amount of upgrades and new features of the trio of offerings this year.

The PSP version still holds its own with a good portable game of baseball that may not be great for quick portable action, but anytime you’re able to just sit down and be able to play for a while, MLB 09 fits that style of play very well.

The Phantasy Star series is one that has incredible potential on any handheld if done right. Unfortunately, Sega’s second attempt at a Phantasy Star game on the PSP comes up well short of anybody’s expectations.

If you can look past the lackluster single player campaign and spotty controls and set your sights on the obviously superior multiplayer component you will have yourself one of the best looking, and playing, games on the PS3.

Much like Flower, there’s not much of a game or a point to Noby Noby Boy, but the cool community aspect of working together to unlock new locales for you to explore is a really unique hook that makes this a game you can come back to more often to see the progress towards that next planet.

Blue Dragon Plus is a game that actually fell under the radar with its late February release, but it’s actually quite solid.

Even though Zuma has a rather limited amount of replay value with only two modes and not that much being different between those two modes, the core gameplay is fun enough that if this is your kind of thing and haven’t bought this game on another platform already, you might as well plunk the $10 down for this game.

Race Pro isn't a bad game by any means. It's strong where it needs to be; the actual driving part, but lacks any kind of personality. To put it another way, Race Pro is a diamond in a plain white paper bag, and it loses some of its appeal as a result.

On the whole, Street Fighter IV is a fantastic achievement. It has a great fighting system, excellent visuals and decent audio.

Rockstar has done a good job of giving fans more content to please their violent tendencies, and the characters and moments in The Lost and Damned prove to be just as memorable and enjoyable as GTA IV.

This is one of the few RPG’s that truly make the player feel like he or she is playing the role of the hero, and it’s seriously been a while since an RPG has had that kind of impact.

All Nintendo fans will take pride in the fact that they can finally experience Marth’s adventure, and it’s a lengthy one that should keep Nintendo's "hardcore" gaming audience busy for quite a while.

Flower offers a great experience for $10 that anyone who is open-minded enough to try it out will enjoy a great deal. This game can be as simple as a great game for kids to play and explore without much of any conflict to worry about while technophiles will love the great visuals and audio as a way to show off their home theater set-ups to friends and relatives.

F.E.A.R. 2 is a middling shooter at best, and while the bare-bones mechanics are all tightly oiled, you’re left with a stale taste in your mouth. It may be the first big release of 2009, but it’s also the first big disappointment.

Though you may not be able to become a kid again for real, Retro Game Challenge does a nice job of replicating that experience with retro knock-offs and magazines to add to the 80’s atmosphere that can’t be done as well with compilations and remakes.

Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection is easily the most value that has been offered on one disc since The Orange Box back in the fall of 2007, so this is a no-brainer if you have any interest at all in playing a good number of these games.

House of the Dead: Overkill offers an impressive package of content that most light-gun games on the Wii fail to provide, especially with two campaigns to play through by yourself or with a friend.
