But I have to reiterate: Child of Eden is awesome. It's impossible to not be taken aback by the brilliant orchestration of the stages, their intricate details, and their climactic boss fights, including the borderline inspirational ending sequence.

Far from a bad game. Stellar art and a darkly unique stage help set it apart from the brown and bloom of this console generation, and Spicy Horse should no doubt be commended for their approach to an underfed genre in the HD-gen platformer.

Bumpy Road is a little light on content even for a $3 game, but what's there is finely crafted. Whimsical, melancholy, nostalgic, and beautiful, Bumpy Road represents a thoughtful approach to a well-worn genre.

It's not the best of The Sims 3's expansions by a long shot, and compared to the other packs seems quite expensive for what it is -- but fans of the series will enjoy the deeper experience it offers.

Like reuniting with a close friend after many years apart and then discovering how they've gone nowhere with their life, Duke's return is a sad engagement that makes you wish you had left the past where it belongs.

I genuinely wanted to like this game. It's based around a great concept and the writing gives it an entertaining personality, but the control scheme is just awful.

The game combines elements like the RPG-leveling system from Fire Emblem, the "zone of control" mechanism from Military Madness, and Advance Wars-style terrain bonuses and village capturing to create a game that's incredibly deep and satisfying for those experienced with the strategy genre.

While no title as ruthlessly-streamlined as this one will keep you playing for long, ones as well-executed as Nuts are certainly worth more than the asking price.

If you want a novel little shooter with an interesting hook, this is definitely worth the price of entry.

I love that players can play any of the 130 levels in the entire game right from the start, and I used that feature on a couple of occasions when a particular level had me stumped.

The dialogue and plot are more clumsily written than the lyrics to a Christian rap song, which makes it hard to get involved in the tasks at hand. When you don't care, you don't care, ya know?

While Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is a complete and solid game, the types of updates and outright lack of change in the production (we couldn't even get a new theme song or stages?) might not make the casual fans impulsively buy this update. Even $15 is a bit steep for features you might not use, and the $40 retail disk isn't a terrific option when Super Street Fighter IV retails anywhere from $10 to $30, depending on where you're buying it from.

Even if you're new to the series, this is a nice, easy way to get the gist of Monster Hunter without going through the motions of the main games' early quests and other tutorials.

All things considered, Blazblue Continuum Shift II is a serviceable -- though hardly spectacular -- port of a superb fighting game. It's nice to have if you ever feel the odd itch to practice combos while you're waiting at the doctor's office, but there's no way you'd ever choose to play this over the console edition if you had the two in front of you. Let's hope the next Arc fighting game to see release on the 3DS takes the system's functionality (and quirks) into more consideration next time.

Armageddon's not bad, it's just plain. The game feels like Volition started from scratch, but accidentally threw out too much of what made the last game great.

But overall, I had fun with Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion -- and if the 3DS version managed to impress me, I'm officially on watch to see what the upcoming console version of the game is going to look like.

If you're a pro wrestling fan, spending two dollars on this game isn't the worst use of your money. It's got the presentation and basic gameplay, but sadly, very little raw ingenuity.

Revenge of the Titans is a nearly perfect game. It will annihilate all of your free time for as long as you're consumed by it. It will also make you want to punch your screen at least once. If you missed out on the opportunity to get it in the Humble Bundle, you can get the game on Steam for $14.99, or check the official website for special deals. Either way, it's worth your time, money, and occasional frustration.

Still, Terraria is a great adventure, one of the best sandbox games around, and an absolute steal for ten bucks on Steam. It's well worth checking out for anyone, regardless of how they feel about Minecraft. Despite having one fewer dimension, Terraria hides greater depth than its 3D cousin.

Playing Dead or Alive again has been a highly enjoyable journey of rediscovery. The more time I've spent playing it, the more I've remembered why I've really enjoyed the series over the years. It's a really fun fighting game that's easy to pick up and play, features some great characters, and delivers some very satisfying moments, especially when you pull off a huge series of moves that look spectacular, or punch someone off the top of a particularly high area so they fall to their death.

The missions are unimaginative (even compared to the original), navigation issues prevent you from ever attaining a movement rhythm, and the various narratives are a mess. But worse still, the combat isn't as tight as it could be and the world itself just seems less polished than its predecessor. Yet, for those moments when the game shines, it shines brightly.

If you know what you're getting yourself into, Fast Racing League is worth your time. A racer more reliant on strategy than brawn is always a good thing. But it suffers from some serious flaws, and unless you're already a big fan of the futuristic racing genre, this $10 title will likely comes at too high a price.

The lack of a single-player campaign aside, the game is strong evidence that independent developers take more risks than the big boys. It's a daredevil act to put out a game in a genre that's long out of fashion and it's even more impressive that Dark Water Studios made the game so well-balanced and fun. It's a steal at $10 and a great throwback to the glory days of flight and fighting.
