Super Mario Galaxy 2 strikes hard. Really hard. Even those who completed the first one will rejoice when they discover every level. The feeling of a 1.5 version quickly fades when placed in front of such ingenuity, and coating mastery. A lesson to be remembered. For those who didn't try the original, the shock will be even harder, as SMG2 easily ranks as one of the best platform games ever made. It's accessible, with a well-thought in-game help system if they happen to stumble on a particular level, and simply put every single awe-inducing gameplay mechanic could spawn an entire game of its own. To sum it up, underneath an apparent lack of freshness, it's quite the contrary that's hidden. An orgy of fun to be enjoyed unfettered!- Gameblog.fr

GTA V is in line with our expectations. It offers what we expected: a beautiful and gigantic world, hours and hours of play... but it does it better than ever. GTA V also adds the ability to switch between three different characters, which is really interesting and fun during hold-up sequences. This is a must-have, obviously.- Gameblog.fr

Breath of The Wild is not perfect. It suffers technical limitations compared to other open-world games on other consoles... of course. But this new adventure is absolutely fantastic though, and it's actually one of the best in the series.- Gameblog.fr

There's a new sheriff in the open-world action game genre in town. Red Dead Redemption 2 is sure ambitious but it succeeds everywhere he travels: exploration, gunfights, stealth, main quest, characters, side quests, customization, acting, hunting, fishing... Name one element, it delivers. And it sure looks like one of the best looking games ever seen and has many secrets yet to be discovered. And so it can be considered as a masterpiece, an extraordinary, legendary game that we will talk about with sincere admiration for ages.- Gameblog.fr

By jumping aboard the Odyssey, Mario takes us on a trip where await nothing but discoveries and wonders all along. By gathering elements from every game of the franchise, Nintendo expand the classic gameplay with Cappy's possession. Diverse, intelligent, colorful and incredibly long and surprising, the free exploration will satisfy both curious and hardcore gamers. Super Mario Odyssey sanctifies a 30-year-old series that still amazes us episode after episode.- Gameblog.fr

If GTA V on PC is a bit late, it can easily be forgiven. Because the content is already awesome and it's technically stunning. It feels like a new Los Santos. There is no open world game that can match that. And the Rockstar Editor offers such an easy access and so many possibilities in terms of clips/movies creation that we can only be sure that the pleasure will last for a long, long time.- Gameblog.fr

Rocksteady delivers a new masterpiece, enhancing the original in almost every way. Batman Arkham City offers a better story, masterfully paced storytelling, more freedom, more surprises, secondary missions and tasks, an intensified combat with new moves... To sum it up, a follow-up that met our expectations, without forgetting the strengths of the original, and growing up to be a spot-on tale of adventure and excitement: a serious candidate for the GOTY title.- Gameblog.fr

Take what you loved in Morrowind, cut out what you hated in Oblivion, multiply by 10, mix well, and there you go: you get Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. With its deep background, enticing prophecy, new gameplay mechanisms, Skyrim mesmerizes us into diving in its world completely and forgetting about the usual shortcomings of the series (except the poor animations - they really are too bad to be overlooked). If you like the series, but don't love it, get this game. If you love the series, you better get yourself a pair of fresh undies, and fast.- Gameblog.fr

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is indeed the masterclass we were waiting for. A game of incredible generosity that buries, once again, all the competition. Often copied, never equaled, the formula of Breath of the Wild is here improved by new features that offer even more freedom to the player. Rare are the games capable of stimulating and captivating so many players for dozens and dozens of hours. Hyrule is beautiful and holds more secrets than ever before, which even the most hardcore fans will enjoy discovering. Often epic, constantly fascinating, Tears of the Kingdom is likely to divide on a few points. The most intransigent gamers will be able to criticize it for not doing enough to distinguish itself from the previous game. But what's the point when you've already reached the top and are literally flying over the world ?- Gameblog.fr

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch 2 is undoubtedly the best way to discover the game or complete its current adventure. Far more beautiful, fluid and detailed than the original game, Nintendo's new console allows it to shine like never before. The resolution and framerate improvements alone are worth a look at this successful upgrade. It's just a shame that there aren't any real new features to follow, such as the ability to use the console's special features, or that certain improvements, such as the long-distance vegetation display, still struggle to convince. But as it stands, the masterpiece remains intact, and is even more beautiful here.- Gameblog.fr

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition is probably one of the best old-school RPGs you can find on console, a true masterpiece. The PC's version was almost perfect, this one follows the same path. Definitive Edition adds a new tutorial, new game mode (Story Mode) and a rework of Act III for the main campaign and it's great.- Gameblog.fr

There's no denying it: The Last of Us hits almost every nail on the head. Its storytelling, its gameplay, its characters, and their journey in this bleak but almost sadly beautiful world that saw the downfall of the human civilization doesn't ever really try to shortcut its way to genuine emotions, opting, on the contrary, for the hard but humanely faithful path. The ambivalence of the human soul, the spot on portrayal of conflicting morals and the tragedy of impossible choices are all beautifully written and played. Plus, the multiplayer is far from being a gimmick; quite the contrary, in fact. It's very much a coherent and enticing experience on its own, with a brilliant meta-game idea, and a unique, multiplayer take on survival.- Gameblog.fr

Whether you played Persona 5 or not, Persona 5 Royal is simply a must play for everyone. There is more content with updated gameplay mechanics that make the game even more enjoyable than before. The new confidants add a new layer to Joker, deepening our understanding of its psyche and our immersion in the process. Persona 5 Royal is just better than a Persona 5 overhaul.- Gameblog.fr

Except maybe a lesser second act, Portal 2 delivers an adventure with impeccable and unique flavour. It's impeccably directed and narrated, loaded with humor and wit. The numerous new mechanics renew the puzzles, it's longer than expected, the coop mode, locally or online, is bliss, and even though the ending couldn't surpass that of the original, it concludes a rollercoaster ride of pure sensations and genius ideas.- Gameblog.fr

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Zelda Breath of the Wild is undoubtedly the best way to enjoy this masterpiece. Once again, it's impossible to sulk despite the noticeable absence of little new features that could have been a welcome bonus. If you're in the process of finishing the game, or haven't had a chance to get into it yet, now's your chance. With its crisp resolution, exemplary fluidity and overall improvement in graphics, it's a real treat. A pristine nugget from the Nintendo Switch 1, here sublimated at a lower cost.- Gameblog.fr

Astro Bot is an ultra-efficient platformer, but more than that. More than just a PlayStation tribute game, it's an experience in its own right. A Madeleine de Proust that will appeal to the little gamer in all of us. Far removed from the violence of many of today's AAA games, this is an outpouring of love for video games, and for PlayStation too, of course. In this sense, DualSense is more than ever in the spotlight, and all the better for it. We'd totally forgotten about its functionality, as the poor thing is generally under-exploited. Gameplay is a clear winner here, and you'll even find yourself experimenting with the hyper-calibrated haptic feedback. All in all, Astro Bot offers a dynamic, well-paced game that continually renews itself. There are a few glitches where skills, game sequences and OST use are repeated, but that's just nitpicking. In reality, it's a blast and leaves you wanting more. Astro Bot has a message, one that reminds us of what's essential: have fun, enjoy yourself and love video games. And for that, it's a total success.- Gameblog.fr

God of War is an astonishing achievement in the series, a magnificent and deep game that plays quite differently but greatly and succeeds in absolutely every aspect. The action is great, the exploration is great, the story is great, the characters - who are remarkably played - are great, the setting is wonderful, the music is truly special: players can't turn their back on this absolute work of art.- Gameblog.fr

Like Elden Ring, Shadow of the World Tree is a masterpiece. A DLC, an extremely generous expansion, capable of competing with certain big productions on its own. Not only is there the opportunity to explore a new and gigantic region, but you will also discover an astronomical amount of new spells and equipment. New gameplay surprises are added to the already very long list of possibilities. This new kingdom is also an opportunity to cross swords against even more titanic bosses than in the original game, epic battles and for some downright memorable. Everything is not always rosy, the technique is still not perfect on console, the encounters with the "small" bosses are irregular and there is a bit of redundancy in the construction of certain secondary dungeons or in the bestiary at the beginning. beginning in particular. Nevertheless, there is once again a real feeling of exploration and testing. A feeling of discovery and permanent danger that grips the guts, and the gameplay remains as formidable. Everything is wrapped in velvet for the eyes. Artistically, it’s just sublime, everywhere and all the time. We will be amazed by the fact that the soundtrack is once again incredible as well. A real concentrate of thrills at all levels, a real lesson.- Gameblog.fr

Hades 2 is a masterful sequel. Melinoe's adventure surpasses Zagreus's in absolutely every way: more robust and enjoyable gameplay; more diverse progression that offers an infinite number of ways to complete a run, each as satisfying as the next; titanic content literally doubled compared to the original title; divine artistic direction, Supergiant Games offers us yet another Boon worthy of the gods. The title has everything it needs to be included in the pantheon of the best rogue-lites of all time, or even to win the GOTY 2025 title. Such generosity, however, is to its detriment when it comes to the true ending of the game, which is unnecessarily long to unlock, and terribly disappointing given the time spent to reach it. However, this will only concern the most dedicated players, and ultimately does not detract so much from the immense qualities of a title that has everything of a true masterpiece.- Gameblog.fr

Metroid Prime Remastered is a real must-have for all gamers who might not have had the chance to touch the famous franchise back in the day. It's also a very solid remaster (not to say remake) that can easily bring back nostalgic fans. Still fun and exciting to play, despite some minor stiffness due to its age, Metroid Prime Remastered is a lesson. Yes, there are excellent remasters. And after this rediscovery of one of the most cult games of the Gamecube, we have only one thing in mind: where is Metroid Prime 4 ?- Gameblog.fr

Diving into this 3DS version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is proof enough of how much the original was ahead of its time, thirteen years ago. Today, with but a subtle graphical overhaul of its hero and game world, Ocarina of Time 3D manages to become a must-have of 2011. Even though you'll probably not experience the whole adventure with the 3D on, the touch interface, so comfortable for such a game, is a major enhancement of the comfort one has when diving in this epic tale blessed with a charm and some magic that seem, indeed, timeless.- Gameblog.fr

To reinvent one's masterpiece without betraying its spirit nor fall into redundancy is one thing. Going as far as to pull the rug out from underneath all narrative FPS's and emotion merchants who planned to come in the coming months is another. But anyway, that wouldn't be the first impudence of BioShock Infinite. Not to fly up to Columbia and explore such a beautifully written journey would be a crime; not to meet the most alive NPC ever that is Elizabeth would be a shame.- Gameblog.fr
