Like Elden Ring, Shadow of the World Tree is a masterpiece. A DLC, an extremely generous expansion, capable of competing with certain big productions on its own. Not only is there the opportunity to explore a new and gigantic region, but you will also discover an astronomical amount of new spells and equipment. New gameplay surprises are added to the already very long list of possibilities. This new kingdom is also an opportunity to cross swords against even more titanic bosses than in the original game, epic battles and for some downright memorable. I wasn't a big fan of the series before, but I must confess : this Trackmania Wii simply blew me away, and really hooked me back up with this special type of racing game. The quality of this game is noticeable in almost every aspect of it, and it's easy to get addicted. With its particularly long solo mode, its build-it-yourself aspects, and its nice online play functionality, it seems that Trackmania Wii will become a favorite for many gamers. It's already one for me!

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch 2 is undoubtedly the best way to discover the game or complete its current adventure. Far more beautiful, fluid and detailed than the original game, Nintendo's new console allows it to shine like never before. The resolution and framerate improvements alone are worth a look at this successful upgrade. It's just a shame that there aren't any real new features to follow, such as the ability to use the console's special features, or that certain improvements, such as the long-distance vegetation display, still struggle to convince. But as it stands, the masterpiece remains intact, and is even more beautiful here.

Its storytelling, its gameplay, its characters, and their journey in this bleak but almost sadly beautiful world that saw the downfall of the human civilization doesn't ever really try to shortcut its way to genuine emotions, opting, on the contrary, for the hard but humanely faithful path. The ambivalence of the human soul, the spot on portrayal of conflicting morals and the tragedy of impossible choices are all beautifully written and played. Fumito Ueda and his team confirms they did not lose their magic during the long and painful development of The Last Guardian. What we have here is an amazing video game with stunning characters and clever puzzles, a masterful piece of art that depicts one of the most touching stories ever told in this medium.

Dead Space Remake is more than just a remake, it's a whole new game. Motive has done a titanic job to give a second life to one of the masterpieces of the survival horror genre. Not only its graphics are a real slap in the face and its sound design is absolutely fantastic, but he few gameplay adjustments and the work on the level design offer a real added value. Even those who know the original game by heart will be surprised. An incredible dive into horror and a real "new gen" slap in the face. Now we only want one thing, the sequel, and quickly!

CD Projekt is trying to impress us with a beautiful Witcher 2, deeper and more fun. Finally, we find here the same flaws and the same qualities as in the first episode. The incredibly difficult fights (in the first hours), the unnecessary extras and the bad interface could have ruined the game, but The Witcher 2 will eventually conquer RPG fans with its world, its characters, its atmosphere and incomparable scenario. It's the Empire Strikes Back of video games. I can't wait for The Witcher 3!

Xenoblade Chronicles is like a collage of all the best elements taken from the JRPGs that came out in the 2000's. It has everything to become a cult RPG, including a release platform that doesn't really suit the genre. So, even though its not HD, its numerous qualities make it a must-have for all JRPG fans who didn't yet commit suicide because of all the disappointments of this generation.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Zelda Breath of the Wild is undoubtedly the best way to enjoy this masterpiece. Once again, it's impossible to sulk despite the noticeable absence of little new features that could have been a welcome bonus. If you're in the process of finishing the game, or haven't had a chance to get into it yet, now's your chance. With its crisp resolution, exemplary fluidity and overall improvement in graphics, it's a real treat. A pristine nugget from the Nintendo Switch 1, here sublimated at a lower cost.

Bravely Default Fairy Flies HD Remaster is a masterclass at least as effective as the original game, which is why the score is identical. This unhoped-for remaster sublimates an already beautiful and inspired JRPG, giving it a well-deserved second youth. With the exception of a couple of amusing but anecdotal mini-games, it lacks any major new features, but it modernizes and adapts to the new platform with formidable efficiency. It's gorgeous, extremely generous, as addictive as ever, and the soundtrack remains incredible. If there's one Nintendo Switch 2 launch game that deserves your attention, in addition to the indestructible Mario Kart World, it's this Bravely Default Remaster.

Dragon Quest IX delivers on its promises. The old school gameplay mechanics, unchanged for the most part, really shine in a multiplayer mode that is surprisingly comfy and accessible. Hardened players will probably grunt at the easier 10 or so hours of the beginning, which doesn't really prompt for any strategic thinking. But the high production values and the richness of content are reason enough to enjoy the dozens of gameplay hours, solo, or otherwise.

For a small fee, Bike Baron offers a really fun cross/trial bike game. It is a great success from every point of view: super playable, and with cool animations, it allows you to run with an old guy's bike on many chaotic levels, in 4 different difficulty settings (Easy to Extreme). Those challenges are easy at first, but they quickly become very difficult and addictive. The game even features a track editor, with the ability to share your work with others. An excellent surprise on iOS platforms.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a new masterpiece from CD Projekt RED, a huge, dense, vibrant, colorfoul and dark Sci-Fi RPG that any fan of the genre should step in. First because it will provide the sensation that the story really depends on you choices and that you have everything you need for your playstyle. Then because streets, stores, buildings, inhabitants of Night City won't get out of your head easily. You'll be happy to interact with Keanu Reeves, but the real star is this city and all it provides in terms of atmosphere, game mechanics and stories.

Rockstar did it again. Not only is this new version of Grand Theft Auto V much prettier than the original version, it is also offers a new and convincing first person mode. Truly unmissable.

GTA V is in line with our expectations. It offers what we expected: a beautiful and gigantic world, hours and hours of play... but it does it better than ever. GTA V also adds the ability to switch between three different characters, which is really interesting and fun during hold-up sequences. This is a must-have, obviously.

Half-Life: Alyx is truly the new standard bearer for virtual reality. This is a major, not to say revolutionary, title, as was Half-Life and Half-Life 2 in their time. For more than 10 hours of play, we live the horrifying, supernatural and science fiction adventures of Alyx, as if we were there. A Masterpiece!

Have we ever seen such a cutting sequel ? Seven years after the first episode, The Last of Us Part II is a true masterpiece, at every level : not only has Naughty Dog released a bigger, richer, longer and darker adventure, but its surprising story plays wickedly with the fans hopes, and question the very nature of roles, and what humanity should stand for. If only more AAA games could choose for such strong choices despite the consequences, the media would surely be more interesting. Released at the very end of the PlayStation 4 cycle, The Last of Us Part II feels like the definitive synthesis of this generation.

The World Ends With You Solo Remix combines two wonderful qualities. Firstly, the original is a near-spotless success. Secondly, this is a quality port, one that has been reworked deeply to blend well with the devices it's on, even enhancing some aspects in the process.

When DICE buffs up the formidable war machine that is Battlefield Bad Company 2, their star multiplayer franchise, they use every last bit of cultural and movie folklore surrounding this cruel and well-covered conflict. Polished to the extreme, Vietnam enhances all the more the fun it gives us, and those typical moments of bravery.

PixelJunk Shooter 2 builds on the formula of its predecessor, with shooting, puzzles, traps, and a lot of various fluids to play with. The new gameplay mechanics are perfect and with them, Shooter 2, thanks to a well balanced difficulty, is an impeccable action title. Too bad that the multiplayer is but a small bonus, but it's not reason enough not to play the game!

Games that are as exceptional as this one are so rare, than when one comes, it's impossible not to grab it really tight and press it against our chest.

From a technical point, this PC version of Red Dead Redemption II is simply amazing if you have a good computer that can handle its huge number of graphical options. It is clearly one of the most complete games at this level. On the other hand, it is clear that an optimization could be better, because even on a war machine with the latest drivers, there are some issues that could have been avoided.

It's almost impossible to overlook this third episode. Pushing the boundaries even further, the solo campaign is a satisfying conclusion to the story. In terms of multiplayer, it's obvious that Epic delivers the best episode yet, both in terms of fun and richness. Overall, it's more accessible, all the while keeping enough details for the hardcore to enjoy it, in solo play, co-op, or competitive play. For what more can one ask?

Years after its initial release, Bayonetta 2 keeps on delivering. It is still the best beat them all you can play at this time, the most beautiful, the craziest, the most generous. And the fact it's now playable wherever and whenever you want doesn't make it less essential, on the contrary.

Now a eight-year-old game, Limbo is still one of the flagships of the indie productions. Its stunning visuals, the clever game design and the gloomy flavor it displays make it an instant classic, which can now be enjoyed for the first time on a Nintendo hardware, the all-in-one Switch.

To reinvent one's masterpiece without betraying its spirit nor fall into redundancy is one thing. Going as far as to pull the rug out from underneath all narrative FPS's and emotion merchants who planned to come in the coming months is another. But anyway, that wouldn't be the first impudence of BioShock Infinite. Not to fly up to Columbia and explore such a beautifully written journey would be a crime; not to meet the most alive NPC ever that is Elizabeth would be a shame.

From atop this Total War: Shogun 2, eleven years of experience are looking right at you. The gameplay The Creative Assembly crafted for this new title is breathtakingly rich, almost intimidating, but fans will still feel right at home since the new elements aren't plenty. For newcomers, the challenge can be hard to overcome because the ruleset of the game isn't very well explained, but Shogun 2 also becomes, because of this, an adventure that is all the more satisfying to conquer. Even though it suffers some shortcomings when it comes to signature moves, or the overall sound department, Top Spin 4 is blessed with a pretty solid gameplay. Accessible and fun, it remains realistic as well with a huge career mode, and ranks up as the top title of the franchise to date.

Except maybe a lesser second act, Portal 2 delivers an adventure with impeccable and unique flavour. It's impeccably directed and narrated, loaded with humor and wit. The numerous new mechanics renew the puzzles, it's longer than expected, the coop mode, locally or online, is bliss, and even though the ending couldn't surpass that of the original, it concludes a rollercoaster ride of pure sensations and genius ideas.

Take what you loved in Morrowind, cut out what you hated in Oblivion, multiply by 10, mix well, and there you go: you get Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. With its deep background, enticing prophecy, new gameplay mechanisms, Skyrim mesmerizes us into diving in its world completely and forgetting about the usual shortcomings of the series (except the poor animations - they really are too bad to be overlooked). If you like the series, but don't love it, get this game. If you love the series, you better get yourself a pair of fresh undies, and fast.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth marks the new golden age of the license. It’s a gargantuan and disproportionate game, in addition to being extremely generous. Next to it, FF7 Remake is just a long prologue behind closed doors. The world opens with Rebirth, the universe of Final Fantasy 7 with it. Everything is sublime, fantastic even, and invites you to travel. The deliberately choppy and mysterious narration fulfills its role perfectly and will undoubtedly cause a lot of ink to flow. It’s an almost instantaneous uppercut that never really gives us time to dislocate our jaw. However, everything is not rosy, we have some heaviness here and there, slightly old-fashioned mechanics which rub shoulders with other much more modern systems, but we will happily excuse it as everything else is impressive. It’s beautiful, sublime, for the eyes and the ears, even though the technique sometimes fails when you look closer. The soundtrack, a mix of revamped themes and new features, is certainly one of the best in the series. But it's a whole and taken as a whole, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a real gem.

Its gorgeous, blessed by an exceptional soundtrack, it's beyond reproach in terms of fine-tuned gameplay, for a 2D platform approach that's super rich, and intense in terms of challenge. With almost ten years of thrilling races behind them, even the most fine-tuned racing fireballs can show signs of fatigue. But rather than risking a break-down, Nintendo was smart enough to dismantle its Mario Kart core formula in order to correctly refreshen each and every one of its clogs before putting them back together. As an added bonus, the mechanic repainted it nicely and added some of the latest technologies. The end result roars at soon as the engine starts, and promises to run nicely for quite some time thanks to solid online features.

The first Dragon's Dogma was already a very unique game in its own right, that sadly did not shine as bright as it should have. With Dragon's Dogma 2, Capcom went above and beyond everything we could have hoped for. From its gigantic and beautifully well crafted open world we excitedly want to explore in its every nook and cranny to its brilliantly epic gameplay and the oh so genius Pawn system, this sequel is a masterpiece that majestically gives justice to that franchise very close to Capcom's heart. An absolute must-have for every fan of open-world RPGs. We'll see your Pawns when you get there, Arisens. T'is a marvelous adventure, indeed !

Journey is a true masterpiece. A sublime poetic experience in which all videogame elements combine perfectly to create an unforgettable trip. This PS4 version adds 1080p 60fps, which is significant but remains a detail as the original work stands for perfection. A splendid game forever, to put in all hands yesterday, today and tomorrow.

It's impossible not to be charmed by such a little gem. Everbody's Tennis Portable is easily the best portable tennis game out there, striking the perfect balance between accessibility and realism. The European version also gained a significant number of improvements over the Japanese one. It's a must have for all tennis fans.

For all of those who were doubting it, rest assured: Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is very much a true MGS... but most importantly a true game! The saga's DNA is everywhere in this title, and it's been expanded so much, that this adventure gets a distinctive taste of its own. Less interactive movie, and more game than ever, there are so many modes, bonuses, and other elements to unlock as you play that it's almost unbelievable. The Monster Hunter's influence is clear, and it's a blessing for Kojima's game. To the point that between the management of your Mother Base, your equipment, and your troops, the game even becomes addictive for other things than its solo campaign. No doubt, this is a major episode in the series, for its overwhelming content, its level of quality, and the power of its story. And the platform it has been released on as well : a strong signal sent to the industry, that portable devices are becoming more and more important, from Japan to our part of the world.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 strikes hard. Really hard. Even those who completed the first one will rejoice when they discover every level. The feeling of a 1.5 version quickly fades when placed in front of such ingenuity, and coating mastery. A lesson to be remembered. For those who didn't try the original, the shock will be even harder, as SMG2 easily ranks as one of the best platform games ever made. It's accessible, with a well-thought in-game help system if they happen to stumble on a particular level, and simply put every single awe-inducing gameplay mechanic could spawn an entire game of its own. To sum it up, underneath an apparent lack of freshness, it's quite the contrary that's hidden. An orgy of fun to be enjoyed unfettered!

There's a new sheriff in the open-world action game genre in town. Red Dead Redemption 2 is sure ambitious but it succeeds everywhere he travels: exploration, gunfights, stealth, main quest, characters, side quests, customization, acting, hunting, fishing... Name one element, it delivers. And it sure looks like one of the best looking games ever seen and has many secrets yet to be discovered. And so it can be considered as a masterpiece, an extraordinary, legendary game that we will talk about with sincere admiration for ages.

It’s a must-do masterpiece if you’ve never had the time to try it before. This fully optimized version on PS5 is a feast for the eyes and ears. There is nothing to throw away, especially since in addition to being sublime, the game is incredible, we know that. For fans of the license, many bonuses (developer comments, deleted levels, etc.) are also included. The roguelike mode does the job very well, even if it is only playable solo. It will certainly kill you for a few extra hours if it is not really essential. But when the job is done very well, why sulk? The same will not be said of the mode which allows you to play the guitar freely, which will only appeal to serious enthusiasts. The Last of Us 2 Remastered is therefore unmissable if you have never touched the game, but if you own the original game on PS4, although it will only cost you around ten euros, it is difficult to recommend, except for early fans obviously.

In 2016, Playdead has delivered a masterpiece of a game to the world. Most accomplished and thrilling than Limbo, Inside can now be enjoyed everywhere on the Nintendo Switch. Basically, it's the same game, which is certainly not a fault. We're now anticipating what will come next from the brilliant minds of the Danish studio.

There are but a few ways to play with food, which are so fun, that we'd gladly welcome some kind of extra meat-based dessert coming from Team Meat. Addictive, funny, perfectly balanced, Super Meat Boy is all the way up there standing side by side with a famous plumber, or a well-known hero with no arms nor legs, in the world of the platformers. A game we'd prompt you to enjoy with friends on your couch, potato chips on the table, and a couple of bottles to drink from, so they can laugh at your demise, or dare to pick up the controller for you to do the same. Meat's yummy!
