  1. Mother Mary is an art film at its core, and will not suit everyone’s palette, but for the audience it connects with, there’s a beautiful journey from sorrow to confession and possible absolution.
  2. This is a really small film, shot in 19 days, and it's a little rough around the edges, but it's got a huge comic heart that's undeniable.
  3. The degree of ruthlessness that is achieved is stunning, as the skin of the nightmare of the assassination trade is pulled back.

Jessica Sanders has observed a collection of lives dramatically altered by a flawed legal system.
  4. The film is a wonder and a joy to watch on any number of levels.
  5. If you enjoy history, especially English history, or are into theological cinema, check out Revelations of Divine Love when it finds its way to you. This is heady and passionate work. Truly, Revelations of Divine Love is one for the ages.
  6. Even if you already knew the facts, you won’' be able to help but reflect in awe at how much progress in the fight against discrimination has been made on a societal level.
  7. I think that All The Bright Places is a beautiful film. You will probably cry, but it will be worth it.
  8. Something is an incredibly solid debut feature.
  9. Each and every one of the movie's 125 minutes is a moment of searing truth.
  10. The movie enables viewers to witness firsthand how indigenous people are unable to keep their cultures. It also looks at how society has corrupted men and has forever changed ancestral traditions.
  11. I've never been a fan, but in the space of a couple hours the Woodster gives both an explanation AND the finger to ALL of his critics. This is mean-spirited fun, just the way we like it!

The cheerful tone and wacky comedy may seem over-the-top for some, but for those who want something that embodies pure escapism, Panda Plan 2: The Magical Tribe is perfect.
  12. May
Call it a horror movie, a psychological thriller or a feminist splatterfest, but this sort of story is tough to get right. May gets it more than right.

This is the film that "Shine" and A Beautiful Mind could not be, a story about schizophrenia that doesn’t neatly resolve its complex subject matter.
  13. The cast and crew can take pride in the fact that they’ve crafted one of the more singular experiences of the year.

It works because of Anderson's ability to challenge viewer expectations. Instead of making his principal actors change, he manipulates the story and dialogue to match their characters. His exquisite art-house camera shots and sense of pacing set Sandler up to do his usual thing in an almost poetic manner.
  14. While the familial drama is more engrossing than the terrorist plot, Deierling is at least ambitious and swings big. Plus, the acting is superb, so the two halves still work together.
  15. There’s no doubt that Scrapper is a gem, and it features two of the most impressive debuts of the year in filmmaker Charlotte Regan and her star Lola Campbell.
  16. Director Sabrina Van Tassel does an excellent job of drawing in the audience to the labyrinthian case of Melissa Lucio.

The Life of Chuck takes a moment for its storytelling technique to be fully understood. But the plot offers intrigue, drama, and mystery in one compelling package.
  17. Highest 2 Lowest is brilliant filmmaking done as only Spike Lee can.
  18. Rebel Moon-Part 2: The Scargiver is the cinematic sci-fi equivalent of that delicious chicken sandwich people punch each other in the face to get. Unscrunch your face and allow yourself to have an intergalactic blast like you did before you grew up to be so picky.
  19. For fans of Breaking Bad, it’s a satisfying return to and continuation of the story.
  20. Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story entertainingly gives you everything you need to know about the actor and his life. Ironically, his story has ended up as an almost fairytale-like dream despite the nightmare that Freddy gives so many others.
  21. An on-the-scene documentary filled with interviews, action, and archival footage, We Feed People is inspiring to watch and understand how one man can activate so many.
  22. Scheinert adroitly conveys both the pathos and the humor of the situation. As dumb as the main characters are, the film itself is very clever.

The film is a stunning piece of visual poetry that will, hopefully, be remembered as one of the most important stories to be told in Australia’s film history.
