  1. Until this past Friday, the worst werewolf film ever made was, hairy hands down, Mike Nichols' "Wolf." Cursed now assumes that dubious distinction and someone is going to have to try very hard to wrestle it away.

The story is unique, and the end revelations are clever but fall short of mind-blowing (which is the bar). Lathrop Walker carries the film from beginning to end. He’s exciting and likable. He excels at his stunt work and provides the empathy we need for his character to carry us to the finish line.

Nothing but a perfect waste of a Friday night. Or a Tuesday night. Or any night of the week for that matter.

Rips off so many splatter movie tricks at once that it becomes totally frustrating.
  2. While it does deliver some good jolts, it never quite cranks up the terror.

Paradise City is a fun and lightweight tale for an evening of Hulu and chill. It’s not going to change the world, but it’s entertaining enough, especially considering Willis’s recent retirement.

    A confused mess.
  3. It’s perfectly entertaining, it’s just not going to win any Oscars, but it doesn’t need to, it’s a summer movie for fans of the comic and adults who still feel like kids. If that’s you, go see it!

Overall, director Deborah Kempmeir mistakes ominous and depressing for deep and meaningful, a misfire that undermines the effect it tries to achieve.
  4. It may not feature the funniest performances Stiller, Walken and Black have ever given but, these three guys giving performances just this funny is enough to make Envy a movie you'll end up kicking yourself for missing.

Juliet & Romeo is worth seeing for audiences curious about new interpretations of Shakespeare’s works. As a musical, it is fine. I would recommend the film for the teen audience. It is a neat way to get future generations interested in the brilliant talent of England’s literary master.
  5. Director Stephen Herek certainly doesn't come up with anything, and he fails to make the swings between silliness and schmaltz smoothly.
  6. The Starling is trying to be a feel-good movie about finding hope in dark times. That’s admirable, but the main problem is that it does it in such a down-the-middle, straightforward way. As a result, there aren’t any surprises and at least a few missed opportunities. Still, Melissa McCarthy and Kevin Kline are worth the price of admission alone.

Like a good thriller, Inheritance draws you in and takes you right into the middle of the action. Then when it’s all over, you’ll want to revisit it as soon as possible to pick up on all the little details and clues. It feels real, which adds to the intensity.
  7. The jokes are so tired and irritating in the film, I found myself anticipating the funny gags from the trailers because those were the only ones that were remotely humorous. In fact, I only laughed three times in the whole picture.

Under The Stadium Lights stands out because of its two veteran actors in Milo Gibson and Laurence Fishburne.

It's a damn shame when the dreaded third leg in the franchise feels like a pale imitation of an already pale imitator.
  8. Hey, it's not "Gone With the Wind" or even "Nightmare on Elm Street", so don't expect a masterpiece. You get a little nudity, a lot of gore, Seth Green doing his ironic commentary thing, and an easy way to kill a couple of hours.
  9. The film doesn't have anything but bad news for Spacey fans anxious for the actor to break a stinky streak.

Corporate Animals tries to be a comedy about class struggle, hubris, cult of personality, and corporate culture using cannibalism as a metaphor. It is a fantastic idea that never gels into anything worth watching, and I suggest you miss it.

Artemis Fowl is not a horrible film, but it had the potential to succeed, yet falls flat in the end.
