  1. Not a film that will change your life. It instead proves that shooting your movie with cheap technology doesn't mean it can't be fun or entertaining. In the end, that's enough.
  2. What sets Bier's film apart from similar fare are the consistently fine performances and powerful scenes of surprising ferocity.
  3. Unlikely but winning farce.
  4. To complain about the lack of originality is to ignore the real wit and joy behind this very fun film.

Quite honestly, if this had been a more violent film, it wouldn’t have been nearly as much fun.

Monday succeeds in large part to Sebastian Stan and Denise Gough’s performances.
  5. The film is an intersection between Fatal Attraction and Back to the Future, and if that sounds intriguing, you’re in for a treat.
  6. None of the characters feel real, necessarily, but they’re all immensely watchable in their own right.

Empire Waist delivers a heartfelt and empowering message about adolescence, body image, and self-acceptance. Its sincerity and positivity make it a refreshing and modern tale for teens.
  7. The real tragedy is that all of the characters in Holler seem incomplete.

Beyond The Night is a solid film with a solid story, good acting, and beautifully shot.

Director Daniel Barnz produces an enjoyable film that reminds us that imagination is a precious commodity which adults need to nurture by allowing kids to jump.
  8. Samantha Buck, Marie Schlingmann bring a light touch and a wonderful comedic tone to a story of one hell of a woman. This is a lighthearted comedy about resourceful females far ahead of their time.
  9. The film is described as “docufiction,” meant to present an authentic sketch of working-class Australian life. While we are not always seeing the real events, we are getting the concentrated essence.

Not only documents a fascinating part of American history, but also leaves us wondering how (and if) this era's youth will manage to find a voice of their own.
  10. It's a touching story of father and son type male bonding -- male bonding with Nick Nolte no less -- that's bound to find some audience members blubbering by film's end.
  11. Ararat isn't a great film because it's too convoluted and personal at times, but it's a showcase of technical mastery; the way Egoyan interweaves the stories of the historical recreation, the relationship between the son and his stepsister and the mystery of the art historian's dead husbands, is endlessly compelling.
  12. I wasn't in the mood for this film, but it got to me anyway.
  13. It's clear right away that The Roost is no hack job. It's made by people who have a major love for the genre and generally anything that goes bump in the night.
  14. This interesting and humorous ride brings a wild variety of Grace Lees, to Grace’s delight and our amusement, providing an informative and heartfelt look, more personal than academic, of a culture and the single bond they all share.

The artful cinematography and well-performed music make this a worthwhile watch.
  15. The film has a lot of humor and joy in it.
  16. Without a doubt, making the most substantial impact is Thurman. While she has proven her versatility over the years, her work as The Bride shows that her talent is matched by her fearlessness.
  17. A little bit of screwball comedy and a lot of film noir, add a dash of suspense-drama, and half a dozen card tricks too, then you have the recipe for making The Brothers Bloom.

This is a severely flawed, but also a fascinating and engrossing science fiction film, a picture that offers far more than surface thrills.
  18. Isn’t just a "gay movie." There are just gay people in it. Anyone can get into this lovable film.
  19. This film is not going to be for everyone, but for those who love horror served with a mean little edge of snarky humor, it’s quite a ride.
  20. In the end, Marry Me is funny and worth watching.
  21. The mafia murder images are stomach turning, viewers take note. Letizia talks about her life at great length and some of it is redundant, but she is always charming and inspirational, living as a strong, independent woman in a crushing patriarchy.
  22. Really Love subtly explores and juxtaposes the numerous obstacles Black people face when it comes to discovering their identity, transcending stereotypes, overcoming familial influence, being in charge – and it studies those issues through the colorful and forlorn and often lovely prism of Art.
