While there’s nothing here that will cure Telltale fatigue, Guardians of the Galaxy also manages to stumble in its writing and visual style where the studio typically succeeds.

Dream Daddy is more of a dad sim than a dating sim, as its romance feels artificial on most occasions.

Loud On Planet X is a fun and different rhythm game with a great roster of indie artists. It's well worth the small asking price.

In trying to combine shoot-em-ups and brick breakers, Sky Racket misses the point of both genres.

In the end, Rise of Iron is literally just more Destiny. It doesn’t address any of the issues that you might have had with the original, and it doesn’t really flush out the existing world either. It is simply a new set of story missions, a strike, some quests, and another raid.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life remains both an oddity and a gem, and is a must play for fans of the farming sim.

Don’t Stop Believin’ helps to undo a lot of damage of previous episodes, but this more level-headed characterization is five episodes too late.

The MySims: Cozy Bundle is a solid blast from the past albeit slightly held back by some lacklustre controls.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp isn’t the perfect mobile iteration of the series that we wanted, but it’s great for a smile throughout the day.

Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise may not reach the highs of the Yakuza series that it is so clearly based on, but it’s got more than enough spark to make the journey worthwhile for fans craving something new.

Smoke And Sacrifice is by no means terrible, but while its asking price may be lower than other known RPGs and its story is at its core interesting, its gameplay can at times also be just as fundamentally lacking.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is a ride Jigsaw himself would have built. A torturous ride through hell, filled with decomposing pigs, creepy dolls, and enemies with any number of limbs imaginable. This is an easy recommendation for horror fans, even more so for those who truly enjoyed Until Dawn.

Call of Duty Vanguard falls in the predictable traps of an annual release, but pulls through with a fun campaign and multiplayer at the cost of duller Zombies.

But for all the pacing and control issues, as well as frequently being treated as though I can’t solve my own puzzles in a game made for adults, it’s still a game I highly enjoyed.

Dead or Alive 6’s buried and yet still aggressive fanservice will no doubt alienate potential newcomers and at the same time, its lack of content will frustrate returning players.

Ground Zero is a bit of a weird one. On some levels, it works incredibly well, mostly in the nostalgic feel and wearing its inspirations on its sleeves. On the other hand, it sticks to them too much and doesn’t do anything interesting enough to stand out.

Watch Dogs: Legion may be as structurally sound mechanically as its predecessor, but the novelty of the “play as anyone” system has damaged Ubisoft’s ability to create a thrilling story in this latest installment, instead creating a cast of very forgettable heroes and villains that lack any semblance of flair or personality.

Swords of Legends Online takes your standard MMO and turns it into a visually stunning journey. Though levelling is tedious and there is a steep learning curve, the endgame in SOLO is engaging, and it will remain a staple in my MMO rotation.

It’s one of the more addictive games I’ve touched this year. The Dragon Ball fan in me loves the fact that I can fuse Frieza with Cooler, and Arale with Android 18. The RPG fan in me loves the interesting combat and addictive nature of collecting every character and super move. If you fall into either of those categories, then I have no reservations about recommending this. It’s some of the most fun I’ve had with my 3DS this year.
