My issue with My Ex-Boyfriend the Space Tyrant isn’t its not-quite-great writing or anything about its content at all, really. My issue here is that My Ex-Boyfriend is a point and click adventure game that’s fairly poor in its execution.- CalmDownTom

Hyrule Warriors looks great, sounds great and plays great. While hack-and-slash games have never been my personal preference, I lost an entire weekend to Hyrule Warriors without even realising it.- CalmDownTom

This is not a buggy or broken game: this is a game without any aspiration.- CalmDownTom

The music fits in perfectly as well. It has a great synth sound straight out of the 80’s, and nothing else would have done this game justice.- CalmDownTom

All in all with the great graphic novel level intros and the nice little story and wit the protagonist displays, Veocity 2X is an engaging experience. I was glued to it till I was at level thirty six, then I realised I should really write something before I get to the end and spoil it for everyone here.- CalmDownTom

The revised skills trainer makes it a perfect entry level game for us on the other side of the pond who are interested in the NFL but need help in the concept and rules department of the game.- CalmDownTom

Depending on your choices Hatoful Boyfriend can be a light-hearted dating sim set in a completely ridiculous setting, or a crazy ridiculous visual novel set in a ridiculous setting.- CalmDownTom

Believe me when I say you will sink days into this game. I got so wrapped up in playing it that I forgot to write the review and if that doesn’t say much for it’s wonderful mix of minecraft style building and RPG then I don’t know how to convince you.- CalmDownTom

There’s a lot about NHL 15 to be happy about, especially when it comes to actual game time. However, NHL 15 is not a finished product and as such this review score reflects that.- CalmDownTom

Yet in the light of some truly sickening behaviour by so-called ‘gamers’, a title that looks to humanise the affected should be applauded.- CalmDownTom

I loved Commando Jack. I don’t think I can recommend it enough. Sure it has some rough edges and it won’t appeal to everyone. But I think it will appeal to the masses thanks to the amount of fun that is to be had.- CalmDownTom

On PS4, this is the same great, addictive title that left me nostalgic for the skateboarding version of the nineties I never really knew: it’s just that OlliOlli’s mobile heritage begins to become apparent when played on a home console that it was probably never intended to grind, flip or spin its way on to.- CalmDownTom

It requires some mastery of its quick pace and barrage of enemies to fully enjoy the game. Due to its repetitive nature and its design primarily targeting those with a strong arcade past – particularly platformers – I would recommend this game, but I feel it is targeted at a small market.- CalmDownTom

The improvements to the graphics (did I mention it looks gorgeous on the iPad?), sound and overall presentation of Chapter Two ensures that The Journey Down can still be regarded as a solid example of a good point and click adventure game.- CalmDownTom

I can’t say I warmed to the soundtrack, but I confess it’s cheery enough, and I can’t really identify anything offensively bad about Aritana. I think the dev team could make something really great in the future, but for the moment I could only recommended this game to a very patient platformer fan. And it would have to be on sale.- CalmDownTom

The game could be so much more with a little extra work though. The combat and poor voice acting are just too much for me to seriously recommend the game.- CalmDownTom

I can’t find much wrong with Toast Time due to the sheer simplicity. All that I can say to do Toast Time justice is buy it on mobile then you will have a good little one thumb game to whittle away dull traveling, and it is half the price of the Steam version.- CalmDownTom

I really like Halfway. As a turn based strategy game with a great atmosphere that offers a steep but engaging challenge, it’s a good game. It’s still a bit limited, but I want to play it. Again. Right now. And that’s surely a good sign.- CalmDownTom

Size DOES Matter then takes a solid game idea (puzzles and music) and mixes some traditional rhythm actions elements in for good measure. The result is a rhythm puzzle game that will delight and frustrate in equal measure.- CalmDownTom

As difficult and repetitious as Lovely Planet gets however, rarely is it frustrating. It’s hard to hold a grudge against a game so whimsical, especially when it delivers even the most nefarious of its tricks with such stone-faced innocence.- CalmDownTom
