It doesn’t matter if you are gamer, a human being, or an alien from another planet; Red Dead Redemption 2 is a title that you just can’t miss. The bar set by RDR2 is so high that even Rockstar itself will probably have a hard time raising it. One of the best releases in the history of digital entertainment.

Solid gameplay, over the top world design, terrifying boss fights, eye catching visuals, deep combat mechanisms, endless possibilities, and many, many other things can be said about Elden Ring, but non of them can truly describe it for what it is. Elden Ring is out of this world, and you will have to play it.

After the release of Breath of the Wild back in 2017, the hype for the sequel was so extraordinarily high that many expected that Nintendo might fail to deliver; but those people were brutally proven wrong by the release of Tears of the Kingdom. At this point, Tears of the Kingdom is not just a video game; it's more of a benchmark or platform for other developers to look at and get inspiration and then probably fail to come even close to it.

Everything a hardcore RPG fan would want from a game is on offer here, and you can barely find another title that mixes the classic table-top Role Playing elements with digital media so ingeniously. Not only for RPG fans, but for everybody else, Original Sin 2 is one of the best choices of 2018.

Few developers can take an already near-perfect game and craft a sequel that surpasses it, but Supergiant Games is one of the rare exceptions. Hades was almost flawless, and Hades II feels like “flawless plus.” It builds on the original’s foundation with precision and purpose, expanding only where it truly counts, and delivers one of the finest roguelike experiences ever made, without the need to reinvent the wheel.

With beautiful, vivid visuals and deep gameplay, Metaphor: Refantazio raises some fundamental philosophical questions and tries to answer them as best it can. It is a big leap forward for Atlus, which gathered all the positives and polished all the negatives from its previous games. If you are a fan of JRPGs or Anime, you should definitely try it.

Every once in a while a game comes out that makes you appreciate being a gamer, and God of War Ragnarok is definitely one of those games. You will be surprised how every single moment of the game is thought through and how its world pulls you in. Santa Monica has reached a whole new level of maturity with the latest entry in the God of War series, and to go even beyond this level in the future is something that only a handful of studios might be capable of doing, and Santa Monica is one of them.

The Last of Us Part 2 shows us one thing, that the video games industry (unlike Cinema which is moving forward at a much slower pace) has a lot more unexplored potential. Part 2 raised the standards of video games so much, and in almost every respect, including gameplay, visuals, AI, and the [insane] amount of attention to detail, that you would wonder how this much progress on 7-year-old hardware is even possible, and the good news is that this is not the cap, and we can even have better titles in the very bright future of this industry. Just imagine what Naughty Dog (and other elite studios) can do with the next generation of hardware.

Crusader Kings 3 is one of the best strategy titles in recent years, hands down. The gameplay is extremely deep and the relationship between the characters and some neat RPG elements really help the game shine. The game is not flawless though, as the game's UI may be too complicated for some players and there is a slight lack of content, but nevertheless it's a solid strategy experience that can entertain you for many, many hours.
