The single player mode is quite bland and lacks a much needed punch, while the multiplayer provides some excitement.

It is definitely not for snobby role-playing twits. However, there is still a lot of fun to be found and this game should be given a fair shake.

NHL 06 may not be the greatest hockey game I've ever played, it's leaps and bounds above last years offering.
