Blueprint 3D isn't a hardcore game in the 'gamer' sense of the term, nor is it particularly taxing as a puzzler, but it still manages to sit alongside casual titles like Cut The Rope as it combines elegant simplicity in controls, gameplay and design to make it a truly engaging distraction for iOS gamers.

Mad Rush is a funny idea with good presentation, but falls a little short in the gameplay department.

The Lovecraftian mythos is often used and abused as a cheap shortcut for instilling thrills or mystery in to an otherwise bland story or experience; not so with Elder Sign: Omens as it shows off the true terror, danger and madness of messing with the dark unknown in this chilling board game adaption.

There was a time when saying 'Minecraft' was synonymous with punching and dropping blocks in to a virtual world; now it has far more depth thanks to continued updates and community developed modifications, but Minecraft - Pocket Edition features none of these and simply replicates what is already available online for free.

Combining poker and scrabble ends up with a fun competitive game that should appeal to board and card game fans alike.

This is a platformer with great animation and a fun world that doesn't take itself too seriously. Nothing revolutionary here, but players should be happy.

Flick Home Run! is a time-waster that rewards dedication with bigger, better and more exciting home-run hits that feel satisfying thanks to the simple gesture controls; how much you get out of the game depends on whether you enjoy grinding out experience to unlock the next level of play.

EPOCH stands alongside a rare handful of games that combine not only beautiful graphics for a handheld device, but gameplay perfectly suited to the iOS platform while also invoking shades of far more complex titles like Infinity Blade; an easy must have for action gamers with minutes to kill each day.

If you are much like myself and have always wanted to learn the complex, yet amazingly fun game that is Mahjong, then Janryumon is simply without peer; take the time to master the basics before getting dominated by the online competitive play.

Taking a concept like Angry Birds and molding an RPG system around it is an interesting idea. Princess Punt pulls it off, but the constant swapping of items and the consistent load times might turn some players off.

While in many aspects Gangstar Rio goes for broke and is bigger and better than its previous incarnations, making it the most comprehensive sandbox style game currently available for iOS, it fails to satisfy thanks to bugs, physics issues and a combat system the needs to be completely retooled.

Spiders and bats and mushrooms, oh my! Evertales starts out as a clever tongue-in-cheek platformer with a song and a tale to tell, but falls apart as it fails to reach an apex in gameplay, design or story.

Despite its pretty shell and perfectly reasonable entry cost, Asteroids GUNNER is more of a time-waster than an addictive coin-pumping game like the original. Take the time to try it out and maybe a purchase or two will give you what you want, just don't expect a game on par with the titles it seeks to emulate.

Junk Jack isn't Minecraft, nor does it feel like it needs to be as its 2D world provides the same level of novel exploration fun while presenting challenges of its own to overcome; a tightly balanced free form experience that's only going to get better with time.

Sad Robot is a pretty fun tilt-and-avoid game with a fun and catchy presentation. Stiff controls and the need for quick reaction time hold this back from being what it could be.

For those who have followed the Kairosoft releases, Oh! Edo Towns polishes the management gameplay from High School Story with a dash of Hot Springs Story on top of it, though you're likely suffering from burnout at this time; if you're yet to plunge in to the world of Kairosoft's amazing games, this is a great title to cut your teeth on.

Zombieville USA 2 takes the next step forward for the original side-scrolling beat'em-up by giving you real character customization options, making zombie-slaying all the more satisfying; sadly the game presents no other motivation to continue outside continually feeding cash in to the upgrade machine.
