Time hasn't dulled Max Payne's wit and explosive action by any appreciable amount - given how stable, fast and easy to play it is on the iPhone, there's no reason not to grab and enjoy (or replay) this classic shooter.

2011's Nightfall has made its way to the iOS and while it's not the first deck-builder on the scene, its uniquely brutal and aggressive style means you'll need to keep track of every player as they attempt to stab you in the back - fun offline or online with friends and strangers.

When it comes to Kairosoft, you know just what you're getting in to, but Epic Astro Story takes things in a new direction thanks to a balanced blend of town, tourism and exploration management features, all couched in an amusing sci-fi setting.

Saturday Morning RPG is a wonderfully fresh RPG experience that sports unique ideas and a nostalgic kicker to keep you hooked, though it doesn't get through entirely unscathed as it also sports its fair-share of gameplay problems that can kill the otherwise entertaining experience.

Pathpix remains of the most unique and enjoyable puzzle games on the app store, and this latest offering is no exception. With that being said, this is more for those familiar with the patterns of the game and might be a little too frustrating for newcomers.

While this is definitely aimed at younger players and lovers of all things kitten, the match three is fun and you definitely get your share of virtual pets.

Bug Princess 2 will seem like CAVE's standard fare when it comes to shooters, but if you manage to scratch the surface, you'll be faced with a challenge like you've never faced before.

An interesting take on the color matching puzzle formula with an almost Dr. Mario-like feel; a relaxed puzzle experience with no time limits and no hassles, just block connecting.

Violet Storm aims to shift the focus of the twin-stick shooter from being a fragile, yet powerful ship to something more brutal and thuggish, but its novelty wears off quickly without any real threats or changes in the gameplay.

A retro platformer invoking memories of the Megaman and Contra games. While the on screen buttons are tweaked well, this game is begging for a NES controller.

Fibble is cute, fun, unique, but ultimately a safe casual entry from a developer used to pushing boundaries; with more content under its belt and a tweak to fix control concerns, it could easily become a must-have for your gaming collection.

Bitter Sam is almost everything your usual 'cute-physics-based-puzzler-with-three-stars' game is not - its main character is a monster and depressed; you use cute animals as battering rams; you only have to collect one item; and you won't have to launch anything at a stack of wood, stone and glass... and yet despite all this, it's just as fun, cute and addictive as those sorts of games.
