Instantly addictive and therefore is a fun way to spend idle time. It doesn't require a lot of thought, which makes it a new favorite for activities such as waiting in a long line at a store. For this and the zombie aspect alone, it is easily worth the .99 that Apple is charging for it.

Overall, Frontline Commando is a very enjoyable and high-quality app, but may be too difficult for those who are not willing to invest real money to purchase game items.

Zombie Gunship's sound also skews toward realism. While no music is present, the sound effects, such as your gunship's gun, are very well done. This minimalist approach towards the sound and music design works well to capture the realistic atmosphere that Zombie Gunship attempts.

Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing is a cute, fun kart racer that's difficult enough for adults to enjoy, but innocent enough for kids to pick up play.

The real reward, however, is the humor and nostalgia brought to its target audience, the post-college cubicle-dwelling twenty and thirtysomething crowd.

The fun lies in perhaps pairing an out of place vehicle in an unlikely setting, such as a garbage truck on a tropical trail.

Despite its faults, Bike Race Free is still worth playing and is recommended if you are a fan of motorbike stunt platformer games on the iPhone and iPad.

With its clever gameplay and extraordinary visuals Naught offers a great game worth checking out. The slight hindrance to gameplay for the sake of visual design is definitely excusable.

In terms of free apps available for Apple handheld devices Tiny Tower is near the top. The fact that it is free makes it essential to any gamer to download this application. The fact that it is a complete experience makes it essential for any gamer who's into resource management apps.

Papa Sangre may not completely knock your socks off with the fun factor, but it's still well worth checking out for the wholly innovative and inspired "ear-opening" experience.

Toca House works well on both the iPhone and iPod touch, but most young kids will probably have an easier experience playing this app on an iPad.

The graphics are 3D, clean and the audio and sound effects are super realistic. More maps could help improve the game's value. Overall, a pretty fun MMO fighter, and a lot of users are already onboard.

Battleships is the kind of puzzler that is super easy to learn and tough to solve. So sit back, relax, and get ready to give your medulla oblongata a good workout.

A notable 'awesome' factor to Samurai II: Dojo is the 'bullet time' which eases the difficulty a bit. Whenever you enter this slowed down moment, your next attack on an enemy will 'execute' them.

Area 51 Defense is a great application, if you like quick gameplay and can deal with some spotty controls. The iPhone app has amazingly pretty graphics, and good enough sound and content to hold a fan's attention for several hours at the least.

Despite a lack of new content, Sentinel 3: Homeworld is a challenging app, especially if you like tower defense games. The controls and graphics are great, sure to delight even those new to this genre.

The bottom line of this review is that you can't beat free, and the cost here overcomes any shortcomings. The cartoon graphics are very crisp and clear, and they look great on the smaller screens used by the iPhone and iPod touch. We'll certainly be keeping this iPhone app installed, and we look forward to seeing how the board looks on the larger iPad screen.

If you want a real taste of what Mega Man X is, pick up a console or top loader and play the original. Having said that, MEGA MAN X is a fun game, especially for those who don't have a SNES emulator or just want a mobile alternative.

A simplistic, no frills, and really fun physics based puzzle game. If you're looking for a puzzler with a unique approach to the genre, look no further than Cado. While the 40 levels currently available is a little skimpy, it will take some time for you perfect each one, and with 20 more on the way Cado is a bargain for just $0.99 in the App Store.

Definitely not a game to beat in one sitting, rather a casual play which you could fire up for those small periods of waiting in your day, like waiting for the bus. Gorilla Gondola is definitely a fun app to have on your device.

Given the iPad version, and the clean production of Arctic Escape, it is a very good buy for puzzler fans looking for a challenging iPhone/iPad game combo. Priced at one dollar, it is affordable too. Your time will probably be consumed by these little penguins pretty quickly.
