Block Block Block is a beguiling casual puzzler with 240 levels of block-sliding action to challenge players.

Pocket Climber is a really fun, simple, and entertaining game. It takes a concept that has been done many times before, but executes it very well. The graphics and unique obstacles contribute to the fun game play to make a solid overall game.

When it comes to solid ports of a board gaming experience, Upwords is about as faithful as it gets. The problem is that without the wide install base provided by releasing the app for free, the needed audience to push the social mechanics are just not there yet.

Spirit of Wandering – The Legend is a very traditional Hidden Object game but it's a solid example of the genre and quite enjoyable. It won't convert naysayers to the genre but fans will have a great time, much as I did.

There's a new freemium based Match-3 game to lose one's self to, and Farm Heroes Saga is a great example of the genre.

The Ories: Super Space Monsters! is a fast paced and casual game that arcade fans will really enjoy.

Robi: Cosmic Savior isn’t the kind of game to easily lose hours to, but it is quite fun. Using touch screen controls well, it’s particularly ideal for novice gamers or kids to get involved with, but there’s fun to be had in short bursts too. Sometimes, simplicity is all that’s needed.

If you were looking for a follow up to Card Crawl that is less complicated, this is the game for you. It doesn't hide anything behind unlocks, and presents a perfectly enjoyable solo card game that way. For fans of Card Thief though, Miracle Merchant could prove a little less satisfying.

R-Type is still an insanely difficult shmup that is best consumed by those well-versed in the genre or looking to experience a classic entry in it, but those looking to experience this monument to old-school gaming will find a fantastic port awaits them.

Don't let Dream Quest's primitive graphics drive you away. It does an awesome job blending card battles with Roguelike elements.

Fish Heroes won't win prizes for originality but it maintains a fun edge and it's consistently satisfying clearing a level with few fish. It's a great one to drop in on regularly to chip away at those 3 star scores.

Codename Cygnus is an interactive radio drama that puts players in the shoes of a secret agent, then thrusts them into a handful of classic spy movie scenarios.

Partyrs makes party planning as fun as partying itself.

SFH:E implements a cover system and several exciting set pieces to make it a truly unique and action-packed endless runner.

Putting a few drops of water into a cup can be unexpectedly entertaining.

A charming tale of a boy and his dog, with some glorious visuals. Casual players might feel unsure at times what to do next, though.

Overall I found myself enjoying the unique fun that this game provides, regardless of the far fetched storyline and re-use of the app store cliché, Zombies.

In the end, FIFA 11 will probably hold your attention longer than most other iOS sports sims, but it won't keep you playing season after season. The game itself, for what it is, isn't bad but the virtual joystick does become grating after long plays.

Other than a few issues with mission instructions (it's hard to really tell what you have to do to beat a mission), Bomberman Chains is a fairly good Match 3 game.

This is a sidescroller at heart, but it's unlike any you've ever played.

Overall, Zuba! may be more for extremely casual gamers and little children than for anyone looking for a real challenge. It does still have an addicting element, but that doesn't last long when it's hard to stay focused and interested after a few rounds.

Overall I like what this indie developer has come up with and I think the game has a lot of potential.

Minotaur Rescue is a solid little inertial shooter with plenty of TLC behind it. It can be quite chaotic, but the simple controls and offbeat elements in play make it fun and memorable, and the universal app support with expanded single-device multiplayer options is definitely a plus for iPad owners.

Give it a whirl. Physics puzzlers have been done plenty of times before but Save Toshi brings something new to proceedings and it's great fun for it.

Despite some rough edges, this action RPG cribs from the right sources and is ambitious in the right ways.

The game is enjoyable and somewhat addictive, but it's not the original. I can't connect fully to the experience. It's a dim looking-glass view of the past, which, in the present, is simply not the same.
