The Worst New TV Shows of 2017
What were the biggest television duds of the past year? Above are the lowest-scoring first-year primetime TV series debuting in the United States between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017. Shows are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades from top professional critics on a 0-100 scale) prior to rounding, and any programs with fewer than 7 reviews are excluded.
(#9) In its quest to occupy every spare moment of your time, Netflix seems to think it needs to have content in every conceivable category—including that TV standard, the conventional, laugh-track-enhanced, middle-brow, multi-camera sitcom. Though Disjointed comes from one of the genre's contemporary champions (Chuck Lorre) and stars Kathy Bates, its look at the owners of a marijuana dispensary didn't leave critics chuckling.
“There aren’t enough drugs to find the funny in Disjointed.” —Mark A. Perigard, Boston Herald
