The 15 Worst Movies of 2022
The gallery on this page contains the lowest-scoring films released in the United States between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022. Films are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades given by top professional critics) prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 4 reviews are excluded. All scores are from December 16, 2022.
(#4) Another Netflix comedy dud—although one aimed at young audiences rather than adults—the 2012-set, Adam Sandler-produced Home Team is weirdly based on the true story of Super Bowl-winning New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton (played here by Kevin James) as he serves a one-year suspension from the NFL by spending the year coaching his sixth-grade son's youth team. Does Payton, who was suspended for paying Saints players to injure their opponents, come out a hero? You bet. Now that's turning lemons into lemonade.
“Driven by big-truck energy and lumbered with tired sports clichés and flat jokes, Home Team feels like its target audience is bad dads who don’t like spending time with their sons.” —Paul Bradshaw, NME
