The 15 Worst Movies of 2022
The gallery on this page contains the lowest-scoring films released in the United States between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022. Films are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades given by top professional critics) prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 4 reviews are excluded. All scores are from December 16, 2022.
(#6) There are no winners in The Friendship Game, least of all anyone who had to sit through this sci-fi horror/thriller from director Scooter Corkle that centers on a group of four teens who discover a mysterious, otherworldly object at a flea market. Ostensibly, it's a game that reveals who your true friends are. But playing it sets off a chain of increasingly inauspicious events, depicted in a fashion that is both overly convoluted and lacking true frights, according to reviewers.
“The Friendship Game is deplorable from beginning to end. Fans of Peyton List may get a small amount of enjoyment, as the actor is good. Unfortunately, she’s the only worthwhile part of the film, as the direction, editing, and cinematography are woefully incompetent.” —Bobby LePire, Film Threat
