The 15 Worst Movies of 2021
Above are the lowest-scoring films released in the United States between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. Films are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades given by top professional critics) prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 4 reviews are excluded. All scores are from December 24, 2021.
(#7) Plagued by grating narration, a lack of chemistry between its stars, and a failed attempt at quirk, this modern-day take on the Romeo and Juliet formula stars Alexandra Daddario and Diego Boneta as star-crossed lovers who come from well-to-do families that have been feuding for centuries. It's the first misfire for director Collin Schiffli, whose prior two films made little impact but nevertheless received decent reviews.
“It’s a shame that it’s all so wincingly contrived. The film tries so hard to be slick, but its efforts are both unoriginal and painfully amateurish.” —Beatrice Loayza, The New York Times
