The 15 Worst Movies of 2020
Above are the lowest-scoring films released in the United States between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020. Films are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades given by top professional critics) prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 4 reviews are excluded. All scores are from December 26, 2020.
(#4) Director Olivier Megaton (best known for Takens 2 and 3) emerged from a five-year hiatus to turn a 2009 graphic novel about a futuristic anti-crime solution into a dystopian action slog glorifying police brutality—and one that unhelpfully debuted on Netflix in the summer just as the subject of police brutality was dominating the national discussion like never before. But critics point out that the film would have been offensive at any moment in time.
“The only crime here is cinematic. It’s not often one sees a film as vile, ugly, and deeply incompetent as Olivier Megaton’s The Last Days of American Crime.” —Brian Tallerico, RogerEbert.com
