The 15 Worst Movies of 2018
Updated January 3, 2019 to add late-arriving dud Holmes & Watson.
Above are the lowest-scoring films released in the United States between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. Films are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades given by top professional critics) prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 7 reviews are excluded. All scores are from December 20, 2018.
(#2) Amber Heard stars as "clairvoyant femme fatale Nicola Six" in this thriller (adapted from the Martin Amis novel) from music video director turned first-time feature director Mathew Cullen. The film was in pre-production as early as 2001 (with David Cronenberg once attached to direct), and Cullen's version was due in 2015, only to be tied up in multiple legal disputes over the ensuing years. You'll be better off if you pretend that it remains on the shelf; either way, it's unwatchable.
“A boring and garish mess that even fans of the book will find nearly impossible to follow, this is easily the most embarrassing film with which Amis has ever been even vaguely connected.” —Peter Sobczynski, RogerEbert.com
