The 15 Worst Movies of 2018
Updated January 3, 2019 to add late-arriving dud Holmes & Watson.
Above are the lowest-scoring films released in the United States between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. Films are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades given by top professional critics) prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 7 reviews are excluded. All scores are from December 20, 2018.
(#13) It gets a point or two for being slightly more ambitious than many of the other films here, but visual flair alone does not a good movie make. And Terminal is not a good movie. A modern noir revenge thriller from first-time director Vaughn Stein starring Margot Robbie, Terminal actually has a few admirers. But most critics found it "shallow," "self-indulgent," and "awkward."
“What’s Terminal about? It’s about 90 minutes. That’s a cheap shot, but since the film doesn’t establish a baseline of reality, it’s hard to pick out a premise. It’s a series of playlets stitched together with the seams hanging out.” —David Edelstein, Vulture
