Below are the lowest-scoring films released in the United States between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016. Films are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades given by top professional critics) prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 7 reviews are excluded.
No one was exactly clamoring for a remake of Eli Roth's middling 2003 horror film about a flesh-eating virus. Yet 2016 brought us one anyway (courtesy first-time director Travis Zariwny), and it played like a scene-by-scene, word-for-word reenactment by a group of amateurs.
