The 15 Worst Movies of 2016
Below are the lowest-scoring films released in the United States between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016. Films are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades given by top professional critics) prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 7 reviews are excluded.
Not to be confused with the excellent (and unrelated) TBS series of the same name, this comedy film (the directorial debut for Road Trip writer Scot Armstrong) features part of the cast of HBO's Silicon Valley (Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller) but gives them nothing funny to do in what basically amounts to a failed Hangover ripoff. No wonder it sat on the studio shelf since 2014.
"This is the type of comedy where the flop sweat is nearly always present as each player tries to lift the comedy, only to tragically belly-flop over and over. No one here is phoning it in, but with material this bad, it would be hard to blame them." — Michael Snydel, The Film Stage
