The 15 Worst Movies of 2016
Below are the lowest-scoring films released in the United States between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016. Films are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades given by top professional critics) prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 7 reviews are excluded.
This live-action feature based on the Mattel toys stars Ben Winchell as a teenager who discovers he has secret powers while he’s trying to adjust to a new school. To tap the full potential of those powers, Max must combine with a techno-organic extraterrestrial named Steel (voiced by Josh Brener) and battle a sinister enemy from another galaxy. Given the film's woeful $6 million worldwide gross, at least we should be spared a sequel.
"As the stuntmen duke it out and we see close-ups of the two actors making silly faces, it's hard not imagine a Mystery Science Theater 3000 feature in the making." — Frank Scheck, The Hollywood Reporter
